Always a nice place to go and the service was arrentive and friendly. The food however is mediocre at best. Avocado stuffed with crab was just bad. The crab had the texture of tuna salad. Lots of mayo. Soft she’ll crabs were CLEARLY frozen or premade somewhere else. Scallops were ok. $ 160 for 4 for dinner(one glass of wine so limited alcohol) for a very blah and not very satisfying dinner was disappointing. Shout out to the staff though. They were all professional, pleasant and I enjoyed them more than the meal.

5 stars if all you want is the crab chowder or a bar to relax near the water. The staff was really slow otherwise. Maybe it was an off day. Pay with card because the servers might take an enormous tip without asking(I was with another Unilocal member when this happened).

The location is amazing. The bartenders are sweet. The food is pretty good. So why only three stars you ask. Well I came here with my boyfriend and his family for dinner, and everything was going well asode from the long wait. Well it was a busy night so I understand that but at the end when paying for the bill the server just took the money and«assumed» that the rest was for tip. That’s not okay. I recommend using a card or asking for change very loudly so that others can hear you clearly asked for change. The chowder is good. So that’s the one thing you should come here for. If I could buy it in bulk, I would.

I haven’t been here in quite some time and boy oh boy have things changed. We had reservations to be seated on the boat with a view of the water. We were seated with a view of a puddle with a few ducks in it. The menu was limited and we honestly couldn’t find anything that interested us. We ended up having drinks and sharing Calamari, And Spinach artichoke dip. This seemed to annoy our server and she repeatedly gave entrée suggestions even though we explained we were no longer interested. I was very disappointed, the restaurant itself was just dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting. I am sad to say this seems to have turned to be someplace to have overpriced drinks and appetizers. We should have chosen the restaurant up the street a ways

Harbor crab got better and better and then they hit their peak; that’s probably around where they are now with patchogue being what it’s become. Price has skyrocketed too, not that it was ever cheap Good calamari any way you get it, and great mussels as well, not many complaints other than service being hit or miss but otherwise, sit on the old steam boat and enjoy the view, live music with an older crowd. Gotta love the creepy crab

Just went there Sunday with my friend to have appetizers and cocktails. We ordered the chicken nachos, we noticed the cheese looked weird so we tried to lift it off only to find that the plastic was still left on the cheese, we brought it to the bartender’s attention — half hour later he brings out the new nachos, no apology, nothing. Being in the restaurant business I was shocked that the nachos were still on our bill… Then when we thought it couldn’t get any worse as we are leaving my friend goes into the women’s room which was absolutely filthy — she sees the manager and tells him that the bathrooms are a mess, his response «yeah I know we’re really busy today»!!! I am surprised this place has been in business this long, trust me we will never be back.

I finally came here for dinner, rather than brunch/lunch. We had reservations for 7pm and were seated just about at that time. We were given a table on the boat upstairs right, so it was a pretty spot. That’s one thing about here that I think is the best– the view. The drinks were strong but the fishbowls were pretty tiny. Our waiter did the job but he was definitely helping others and running around because it was super busy. They had a live band playing downstairs. I enjoyed it but some might find it too loud during their dinner. However, they didn’t play for the entire time we were there’s. My meal wasn’t the best. I got a speciality entrée(prosciutto and asparagus with chicken and mashed potatoes). The mashed potatoes weren’t thickened enough and the chicken wasn’t anything special to me. I think this place would be great to hang out at the bars and listen to some good live music on the water. I didn’t enjoy the dining experience too much. It’s also a seafood based restaurant, which I don’t eat, so that might have something to do with my thoughts. Oh and last thing thing! If you have older people with you or someone who has trouble with stairs, don’t sit on the boat because then you have to go all the way downstairs and through the restaurant for the bathrooms.

The owner of this restaurant needs to get serious. Such a perfect location and a gastro disaster! We ordered, them noticed a flyer on our table with the daily specials. No one told us about them. Our waiter returned and I asked if i could get the lobster splat instead. A «Thursday special». Huge mistake! The lobster arrived whole, no cracker to open the claws, hey I am not Darrell Hannah. I asked the waiter to have it split and cracked. I ate my corn while I waited, sadly it was the best item in my order. When he returned my lobster was completely raw inside. Trying to get someone’s attention here is almost impossible. I asked for extra lemon when the runner delivered our food, but he just kept running and ignoring us. I opened my mesh bag of mussels and clams tried one… besides the sand it was completely dehydrated. I tried another, the same. I opened EVERY clam and mussel and they were completely inedible. Again, tried to get someone’s attention. Finally our waiter came by and said I want the manager to see this. Raw lobster and completely over cooked shellfish. At this point I was done. The manager came agreed food was inedible. They cooked my lobster and remade my clams and mussels and wrapped to take home, more to come when I see what’s in the bag tonight. The best thing I had at this seafood restaurant was the dessert. Th raspberry sorbet bomber was the bomb! I would come back here for that and the view. I must mention kudos to the busboy Kenan. He was attentive and accommodating. ***addendum*** I opened my meal which was wrapped to take home and was pleasantly surprised by the most delicious clams and mussels in a garlicky broth. They were plump and delicious and NOSAND!

Very nice place. We went there for lunch since I was told its a crazy bar scene at night. The food is decent and it’s set up right next to a huge party boat that I think they use for parties. It was a beautiful day last Saturday and it was delightful sitting outside. There is an inside area… but why sit there on a nice day? I am on a gluten-free diet so they served me Grilled Mahi Mahi, vegetbles and rice. My wife had a crab salad. Both were quite good.

What a great seafood date place! I can’t say enough great things about this place! You can actually dine on a boat or outside of the weather is nice enough. Great views and a great band playing really set the night off right. We started off with mahi tacos, crunchy and delicious. Really hit the spot from the beginning. If you like spicy, the seafood fra diavolo is A MUST! It came with a salad, we opted for a cup of corn & crab chowder which was really thick and tasty. The kona crusted scallops were really good and were a perfect portion with the salad served prior to the meal. If you can, as Lauren to be your server, she was helpful, funny and witty! We will definitely be back here!

We haven’t been to this restaurant in a couple of years so we thought it was time to return. BIGMISTAKE. Did I say big mistake? Just wanted to be sure. First parking is a little difficult. Big enough parking lot but only partially paved and very little organization to parking methods. As you approach the entry it looks really nice. Tall Palm trees in planters at the entrance. Gives a real tropical look which we like and the anticipation of a good dinner. It’s all downhill from here. My wife ordered surf & turf. That’s steak and lobster $ 46. Ha ha. I don’t know how they did it but lobster was like rubber and our guess freezer burned. A seafood restaurant with freezer burned lobster? Shame #1. She showed it to the waitress who apologized and went to the kitchen to get another. 20 minutes later a new lobster tail came out. Ten times worse than the first. Shame #2. She had me try a piece. Most disgusting lobster I ever had. Again freezer burn but nearly raw this time. She ended up wrapping it in her napkin, ala«Seinfeld» episodes with mutton, and taking it to the bathroom to flush. I had something they call Seafood Supreme. Shrimp(3) pieces,(4) scallops, minuscule amount of crab meat, I think,(2) small clams, and a bunch of mussels(many empty shells), over pasta. Again old freezer burned seafood. It appears that the bar was pretty busy. I guess if you’re only interested in drinking but not eating you might consider this dump. Unilocal has to revise their policy about a one star minimum for this place. WEDEFINITELYWILLNOTBEBACK!!!

A personal favorite for a special casual lunch or dinner. The food is a must try. Start with the crab and spinach dip, served in its own fresh baked bread bowl. Serves more than 2! The Italian calamari a must try in the nice spicy red sauce. The steam pot was a hit today, very generous portions. It’s a get your hands covered in crab and butter experience but worth it. Enjoy with a pitcher of sangria to share! Please try this place if you like family owned friendly local seafood spot ! Bön appetite !

Was in the area last night and decided to stop in for a visit. We were seated on the second floor in the floating dock/boat area. This place is like so many other kitschy tiki themed seafood joints. Two bar areas, one dead and the other rocking because they had a band. Several different seating areas all cheaply nautically decorated but that’s kind of the point. I was slightly disappointed in the menu. Having the name crab, I assumed they would have a more prominent place on the menu. Aside from soup, cakes and crab legs, there wasn’t a whole lot more and my heart was set on stone crabs. Ordered the lobster roll which was quite good and had a Bloody Mary, also yummy. If I wasn’t almost 70 miles away I would probably visit them again. Sadly, being geographically undesirable, I probably won’t return. Solid 3 Stars.

Stopped in with a friend for lunch today and really enjoyed it. Very friendly staff. We shared a wonderful artichoke/crab dip served in a hollowed out round loaf of bread with flatbreads which was really delicious. Then we each had a salad(the salads are HUGE and really good!) with grilled shrimps added. We sat at a table on a patio outside the entrance. Everything was fresh and there were lots of other yummy sounding things on the menu. We will be back!

I used to like coming to this restaurant, but after now the many years I find it has gone downhill. They re-did half of it which looks nice, but the back bar area still looks terrible and smells of old beer. The boat I find they really could have done something extra to it than just gut it and put of tables and chairs up. I got the crab cake sandwich which was good and had a lot of crab in it, but for 15 dollars I probably could have went somewhere else for a better and cheaper one. I guess it’s a good place for an older crowd. Maybe ill be back in ten years.

I’m not originally from around here and so when I was asked what I wanted for my birthday dinner, I just asked for seafood. So my fiancé’s parents made reservations for 4 on a Friday night for the top level of the boat for 7:30. Once I saw the boat, I was so excited to sit on it. First the parking lot is a mess. It shares spots with a marina but its really a free for all of a dirt/stone lot. It doesn’t have a one way direction so you could get stuck trying to get to the other side of the circle if another car is coming through since its only has space for one car to drive by, and with other cars behind you preventing your backing up… well it can get tricky. We got a spot, but my in-laws weren’t so lucky. They even checked the alternate lots(that were filled) and finally had to park in the LIRR train station lot. Meanwhile we had checked in with the host and let him know we were all here but trying to find parking and they said they wouldn’t seat us until we were all there. It took them almost 30 minutes to find parking! So when we were finally all there, the host told us the party sitting at the table on the top of the boat where we had reservations to sit had been sipping on their coffee for almost 45 minutes and showed no sign of getting up. It was left up to me if I wanted to wait for the boat to open up or sit somewhere else. I said sitting upstairs was ok. So we get our menus and sit down, get drinks and the trio-calamari(which was the one bright spot) as our app. About 30 minutes go by and our server comes back and tells us that she threw away our salad order and she needs to know what we asked for again. We get our salads and more time goes by. Waiting and waiting and we asked our server for an update and she said our orders were coming right out. We didn’t get our food until 9:30!!! I had ordered the Kona Seared Scallops, which was supposed to be crusted in almonds and crab and according to the menu a potato and veggie comes with my meal. I did get the scallops, although there was no almonds and no potato. There was some red grainy glop on the plate that wasn’t potato, and it wasn’t rice. I had no idea what it was and it didn’t taste very good. My in-laws wanted to make me happy and kept asking how everything tasted and I didn’t have the heart to tell them I didn’t like it. But it was pretty apparent when I left the majority of the glop on my plate. I would never go back, at least on a weekend. My in-laws keep saying this isn’t how the place always is and they would love to give it another shot on the weekday but I will not willing go back.
