Panda House

My Co-​worker was hungry today and felt like Chinese. We have called Panda House before so we decided to go back. When the food came my co-​work took one bite of the chicken and then went for some rice. Before she ate the rice she saw what she thought was vegetables and she asked for none. When she took the two object out it was clear what it was. It was two cooked roaches. No one order rice with a side of roaches! We took pictures and she went back. They claimed it was not roaches but gave her a full refund. Sounds like someone wanted the problem to go away. I strongly urge anyone that wants Chinese in Patchogue stay away from Panda House. I looked into it a see they have many violations! I hope they take this opportunity to clean up there act. Because no one I know is ever going to eat there again.

My family orders from here all the time. The food is good and haven’t had any issues with bugs like the other reviews. Our normal order is beef broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp with mixed veggies and egg rolls. Good is reasonably priced and ready when we come to pick it up. They do have delivery. The kitchen does look like it can use some organization but so does the whole strip mall that it’s in.

I think they got a new chef or something. I ordered from them in the past and the food was great. The past two times I ordered the food was really terrible. The sesame chicken was so stringy I couldn’t even eat it. Two small pieces of almost raw broccoli was thrown in. The eggroll was so full of oil that it actually leaked out. I like the fact they deliver but that doesn’t offset the poor quality of the food. I tried them again after the last time when I ordered boneless spare ribs that were also hard and dry. After eating a few bites my stomach wasn’t feeling very well. I’m done with Panda House.

Wow, I can say as many times as I and my office have ordered, we have never had an issue with insects. Ever. Perhaps things have improved recently? Anyway, our fave dishes include the most awesome cheese wontons, wonton soup, sesame chicken, hot n sour soup, sweet n sours, egg foo yung, fried rice. No one has ever complained. They deliver.

I really didn’t want to write this review because my mother told me about a friend of hers who had this experience, and you never know with stories that travel. However, the only review for this place involves a cockroach too. I heard she ordered out for lunch and opened her tray and a cockroach was in her food alive. I used to go here all the time back in 2007-​09 strictly for the chicken fingers, but after this story I stopped and so did my family. The woman apparently called them and they asked if it was alive or dead (that’s their response?!), and supposedly they were very difficult about refunding the money back. I’m not sure how it has been since and I would hope after the last couple of years they would have exterminated the problem accordingly. I’ve heard that cockroaches get in a lot of crates of food in many establishments, but to have the nasty things in served food is beyond something I can fathom.

I’ve been in this place before to get lunch while working, and wasn’t too happy with the food, but the last time was the final straw… Walked in and there was a cockroach dying on the counter… To the employee at the counters credit he did say they have an exterminator working on it, but need I say more…
