I absolutely have to give Hoptron 5 stars even though I don’t want to attract any more attention to them — it’s the kind of place you don’t want to share with anyone else! The«beertenders» are very attentive and friendly and the owners are always walking around to tidy up and make sure patrons are comfortable. Although there isn’t any gluten-free beer on tap, there is a small variety available in the refrigerator for purchase and consumption as you’d like! Also, they just recently added wine and extra seating. They’ve got a bunch of old games in the back but I tend to bring along a deck of cards or pens/paper. The crowd is a good one — for the most part it’a groups of friends looking to have a beer and play a game and laugh. I’ve never really seen anybody too loud or drunk or creepy which is always good! Prices are super affordable as well, especially for the great service and variety of options!

If you want to wet your whistle with an absolutely fantastic selection of beer… and play some games while you are at it — Hoptron is the right place. Right in the heart of Patchogue, this is the perfect spot to post up on a saturday afternoon and enjoy some libations with your friends as I just did yesterday. The tap menu not only has brewery, beer and ABV but even shows you how much is left in the keg so you can make sure you don’t miss out on anything. Definitely make your way out to Hoptron next time your not sure what to do.

16 taps with a broad spectrum so there’s something for everyone. As soon as a keg kicks, there is a completely different brew on tap so you’ll never get tired of the lineup. Always something new and different with every visit. Could be a Farmhouse ale, a Saison, a Gose, an IPA, Pils, Stout… The owners and staff are all extremely knowledgeable about their beers and if you aren’t sure what you want, they can offer suggestions and even a taste or two before you buy. They offer flights of four beers in 4 ounce glasses so you can try a few before committing to a full glass. They offer up lots of locally based brews such as Other Half, Moustache, Transmitter, Barrier and many, many more. A very clean place(unusual for a lot of bars) with picnic style tables in the back area and long wooden bar for plenty of customers to spend time talking beer. Everyone that I have met both behind and in front of the bar have been very friendly. They also have a great website that tells you what is currently on tap and how much is left of each. My only criticism would be that the price should be posted along with the descriptions of each beer on the screens behind the bar.

I don’t get to hoptron as often as I used to, it makes feel very sad and a little bad I can’t show my face more. If I had my job back and didn’t need to take a serious look at my health right now, I’d be here weekly if not more like I used to be. Hoptron is truly a home away from home. Ya know, I just wanna say thank you to everyone over at Hoptron, they always treat me(and everyone who stops in) great. It’s always great to hear their opinions on certain brews, and leave with a smile. Really. From every aspect, Hoptron has been a favorite. You can tell there’s quality and love being poured into(and out of) this place, from the choice of crafts, to the live music. I just really want to thank you for a great time, every time, and I appreciate everything the staff does. If you haven’t been, rush over, relax, play a board game and grab a few beers, I’m sure they’ll have something new for you. Before you leave grab a mixed 6 to go! They are constantly hosting great events, such as we own the flight nights where the taps are taken over by a specific brewery, often they’ll have things you cannot get elsewhere, and are just harder to come by, it’s great because you can finally check out a brewery that you can’t always get to too easily. Come down to your local hop shop, and try some brews you love or try some you’ve never heard of and see how you feel. Always a positive place to be, grab a seat and a board game and try the entire board of beers.

Hoptron Brewtique is a great craft beer bar that I wish I lived closer to, for the awesome selection of beers as well as the excellent staff. I’m especially happy that they carry tons of my favorite NYC brews that don’t always make it out to other parts of the island(Third Rail, Transmitter, Big Alice, Other Half). There’s lots to drink at HB, and lots more to take home. You can treat yourself to a flight, pint(or appropriately sized glass, depending on the beer), or growler of anything on tap. If you’d like something different, you can peruse the cellar collection or the coolers that are right next to the bar. The coolers are for on or off premise consumption. If you’re just looking for something to take home, you can also browse the shelves across the room. There is always a varied selection, and the prices are reasonable. I’m also a fan of the half growlers in the cooler. They fill them up at the end of a keg, and it’s always $ 5. You get about 3 drinks from each one, so it’s a great deal to try something different. The place is beautiful. Someone described it as pristine and spotless and I have to agree. Lots of fun décor, funny Star Wars stuff. And the staff is great! Very friendly, helpful, and attentive.

This place is so popular at night, it’s crowded and there is no way my wife is coming here with me. Somehow I gotta bust it out, she tells me: Can you take our youngest son to the dentist and pay a bill at the mall? I have something going on in the morning. Certainly! We zoom to Patchogue. Walking in, this place is geared for beer. Wood on the ceiling, picnic tables and the bar. There is a long bar with taps. Lots of taps! The electronic bar is flashing the different beers, it’s a little confusing. I ask the bartender, I want something not too IPA’y. Talk to me! She recommended something and we ordered the Sea Salt pretzel and Chips with Salsa. It was a little pricey, the pretzel was reheated and the chips were from a supermarket. Meh. The beer was pretty good. And pretty good is good for me. Come for a beer during the day, its not too crowded and they have the Connect 4 board game. You’re not beating me at Connect 4
