To whom it may concern – There’s quite a few things I’d like to touch on, first thing being — Is it fair as a customer to whiteness management massaging one another, as I’m trying to enjoy my cold beer and food ? Secondly — I frequent this place, since prior hauf brau, when it was JnRs ! I can tell you it’s gone down hill since. Yeah the beer is good if you can stop the bartender from yapping with patrons and not serving our waitress our drinks. Next time I’m recording it . Third– Half the waitresses are clueless and belong working at Patchogue bowling alley snack bar ! Fourth — The taste of food has been inconsistent. The pork chops are dry, the red cabbage is SWEET, the saurbrauten gravy is REPULSIVE, so much vinegar it could knock you out. The potato pancakes taste HORRIBLE… DRYANDBURNT. Yeah the beer is great and that’s what has us coming back, but there’s too many tweaks that need to be done . Lastly — the atmosphere feels set for disaster with the completely clueless owner and or management WHOEVERRUNSTHISPLACE. A failure.

I’m going to keep this short because I’m tired. Went to the Bierhaus for dinner and was very surprised! I didn’t think I would ever step into a German restaurant but I am sure glad I did. The beer was EXCELLENT! The food was EXCELLENT(you gotta try the pork knuckles as an appetizer. You won’t be let down). Service was excellent. Only thing was that it didn’t have that German feel to it. At the seat we were in there were 3 very pretty bottles on the window sill, but were from Greece!!! Anyway, that was petty. Go there… you won’t go wrong.

Friendly team but this food is about as German as egg foo young. I have no idea what they’re thinking.

I was looking forward to coming here for a very long time since I had heard great things from friends. I was shocked at how disappointed I was. I ordered the chicken with ham, Swiss cheese and mushrooms but the chicken was super dry. The mushroom topping seemed like they had mixed mushrooms with a can of Campbell’s mushroom soup. It was salty, thick and just not appealing. My husbands steak tasted good but was very fatty. The server also forgot the mushrooms and onions on the steak which was odd. My father and I were not able to finish not even half of our chicken and our server didn’t even ask if everything was ok. The place was extremely loud and not family friendly. It seemed more like a bar to drink beers then a restaurant. I usually give restaurants another try but this is overly expensive for such bad tasting food!

We had a party of 10 for my birthday. My cousin saw this place in passing so we decided to give it a shot. To be fair, 4 of us have been to Hofbrauhaus Munich many, many times. The staff here was very friendly and attentive at the beginning. Later in the evening when it got crowded, it was harder to get their attention and get service. The food came out in a timely manner. Appetizers were the star of the show even with the potato pancakes being a bit heavy. Dinner was hit or miss. Chicken was dry, Jaeger schnitzel and weiner schnitzel not very good. The wursts were ok. Just ok. Beers and appetizers are the thing here.

Stopped by since I was in the area and in the mood for some good German beer. This place did not disappoint! I had the BBQ pulled pork(since I didn’t have time for a schnitzel!) which was delicious. Came with nice tasting French fries and melted beer cheddar on top of the pork. Yum! My lady had the codfish sandwich which looked yummy. Would recommend if in the area. Also take note it’s a bit loud inside. We had to shout at the table but other than that very good!

Just got back from taking our parents to Bierhaus. We all enjoyed our meal at large table«1. We were a party of 6 and were comfortable. I figure this table can hold approximately 10, but tight. We had Cod Filet special for $ 16.99 which included soup or salad and desert. It was worth it. Also Roastbraten steak for $ 20 which included a soup or salad. Meals were plentiful and tasty but were served warm. This definitely needs to be improved. Dumpling was weird and very plain. Everyone enjoyed German beer and cheesecake was moist and delicious. Our server Monika was lovely and worked hard. ! Thank you! I’m sure she enjoyed the tip we left. It was wonderful to get together! Also on Sunday all parking fees are suspended.

This is the only bar I could probably accidentally drown at. The beer selection is amazing, the music and the ambiance is hilariously German, but the food was kind of expensive; I couldn’t justify dropping $ 9 for a pretzel or $ 6 for one sausage.

Hofbrauhaus! I came here with a few friends after a food tasting at the Emporium around the corner. We all got a drink and has a nice conversation before heading all the way back home. The bartender was on top of everything. He got our drinks quickly, and was refilling waters without us even asking. I was impressed, considering how little he COULD have done, and how much he DID. Since this is a bar that mainly serves Hofbrau, how the beer is can be important. I have no reason to believe that the taps weren’t clean. I had a half-liter of the Hefe Weissen, and enjoyed it. Good pricing, too. Half-liters are mostly $ 5 and full-liters are around $ 9. If I’m back in the area I’ll most likely come back.

So my sister and fiancé came here for beers and a pretzel and loved it. Today we came for food with our other friends and first they didn’t have any wine my friend ordered and then most of the table order chicken fingers at 800pm. They came to us a half hour later saying they only had one order of chicken left. Then we all ordered different things. My sister ordered a ceaser salad that only had lettuce and chicken no croutons or cheese and we asked the waiter and she said the kitchen was closing up early at 830! They don’t close until 10. Everyone else said food was ok but upsetting. I wanted my rehearsal dinner here possibly but not anymore. 3 stars bc beer and taste of food is good if you are getting what you are paying for, unlike the salad.

So, we are a party if 10 all at one table. We are having a lot of fun but we have been her for one hour and only just got our first course. Took a while for the waitress to get here and took a long time to get the apps. The salad was ok. Iceberg. No big deal. The soup was chili. I have to say though it was part of the prefix Octoberfest menu. The Chili was pretty good. I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5. They forgot our apps! When we told them, as they were bringing out our main course, they brought the apps. Ok. THEREYOUGO! The main courses came out. YES. I had the Sauerbraten. I have to say that it was the best I have had In the USA! It actually was better quite a number of restaurants I have had this at in Germany! If you like Sauerbraten definable try it here. It get 5. The pork shank was REALLYGOOD! 5. The red cabbage was extremely authenticity. Again, better than some places I have been to in Germany. Let me also say the the HB beer was exactly what I expected. VERYGOOD. But, let me tell you, they had some imported beers I have never seen in German restaurants here In the U.S. There were a lot Of great German imports on the menus and you should try them. Really. We didn’t eat any of the desert. We got it to go just because we were having birthday cake back at the house. If you like authentic German food, this is the place I would come to. I know I will defiantly be coming here again!!! Definitely! God I love it when I can leave a great review. It means I can help an entrepreneur and it means I had a great meal!!! We all win!!!

This place is a joke. Went here Saturday night with some friends, total of 5 of us. We were told there was an hour wait. Ok. After 45 minutes they offer to put us at a table of 4 with an extra chair. Would have been too tight for us. They decide to sit us outside at a picnic style table that could accommodate us.(Table seat had bird poop on it) The service was terrible. We got food before we got napkins or silverware, which we had to ask for. Some entrees came out before some of the apps. Total chaos and disorganization. Food was not very good either. Pretzel appetizer was burnt. Demonico steak was ordered medium, served well done. Waitress totally forgot about one of the entrees all together. How do you forget an entrée? Don’t you write down the order? I asked the waitress if the ribs were tender, before I ordered them and she acted like I asked her for the square root of an isosceles triangle. The ribs were ok, nothing special. However, should have been put on a larger plate as the food was falling off the plate and no room to cut anything. Decent selection of beer can not make up for the bad service. Hostesses were clueless, waitress should choose another career, and apparently the manage that allows this to happen could care less.

Came in with the family on a friday evening. It was quiet early. The food was pretty damn good, and there was plenty of it. The beer was pretty good too. We started qith the giant hot pretzel which even though devided four ways basically filled me up. For dinner i had the sampler plenty of food even for me. Desert was pretty standard. I liked the décor a lot of wood paneling and wood tables. The staff was courteous and they do not rush you. I would definitely come back again.

After reading those sour reviews, I have to say I did not have great expectations for Hofbräuhaus Munchen. Boy was I in for a pleasant surprise! Visited on Saturday mid afternoon– around 2:30. Got exceptional service from the bartender as we were sitting at the bar. Food and beer were both terrific. Lunch special included entrée, starter, side item, dessert AND coffee! You’re kidding me?! All that for $ 12. Brought half of my lunch home because it was just so much food. Draught beer runs $ 5/0.5L or $ 9/1L except special draughts which are $ 8/0.5L and $ 15/1L. I hear it gets so jammed up in the evenings, I recommend you start eating and drinking early, as the Germans do for a more authentic experience.

We waited for 2 hours for a table… Partially because once we were an hour into the wait we thought it wouldn’t be too much longer. The beer was excellent — mugs could be colder though. Once seated service was quick and attentive… We sat at one of the big picnic type table. Which was fine for us but I’m sure frustrated others that were waiting. Table seats 10 there was only 4 of us. They need to be more strategic with their seating they had several groups of 4 waiting with many 2 seat tables empty. The other issue is when sitting on the bench your back is in the bar which was packed and you are constantly bumped into. Pretzel appetizer was great for kids and beer cheese was good. Pork chops were very tasty but equally tough. Their stuffed chicken was delicious. Sausages were ok, potato dumpling tasted like mashed potatoes out of a box. Red cabbage was good but runny; sauerkraut was great. Sauerbraten was a bit tough but tasted good. All and all dinner was good — portions were well sized.

Surprised to see a Hofbrauhaus here. An old friend had planned to joint venture this concept, but changed his mind and up went the Hofbrauhaus by J & Rs. It caught me by surprise when driving by. turned the car around, and called my friend. he already knew. Well. it looked good. 5 Star Beer if your a beer fan, another friend ordered a huge stein of Hofbrauhaus. They have three main types… varying in color from pale, medium to dark. they will give you a taste before you commit to a stein if you ask. Not a bad try at German food. 3.5 star food… but beer, and nice open space carry the place along with ridiculously low prices for LI.

I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of German beer… but coming here a few times it’s really growing on me! This place is all newly renovated and I love the feel you get when you walk in. It’s decorated to feel like a real German beer garden, with the long tables and the real big liter mugs. it’s really cool and the lighting makes it really cozy. I haven’t had a chance to have the food here yet but I will update my review accordingly once it happens. I’ve heard good things though and am looking forward to it!

Seems like they are still working out some of the kinks. We tried a few different apps as it was happy hour and they were offering a bunch of apps at $ 5 a pop. Also had a cup of potato soup which was a special. And for my entrée I went with the sauerbraten. The apps were decent. Although I did find it strange they had calamari on the menu in a German restaurant. My dinner was good too but I would’ve preferred a potato pancake with the sauerbraten instead of the large potato dumpling. Beer selection seemed decent. Tried some house beer I never had and it was pretty good(recommended by our waitress). Ill probably come back in a few weeks and give it another shot.

I absolutely love the beer gardens in Astoria so I was naturally very excited about this restaurant opening up. Unfortunately it did not meet any of the expectations I had. They only had 4 beers on tap which for a place that’s marketing them selves as a beer garden was really disappointing. 1L beers were $ 9 which is a pretty good deal. The food was not good. I got a spicy Wurst platter($ 14) which came with sour kraut and potato dumplings. The wurst tasted off and the potato dumplings just tasted like dry potato gelatin with some type of canned sauce on them. I would possibly come back for beer but I don’t think I’ll ever order food here again.
