I have been going here since before their prices went up some. Love their food. Their portions are still good. Colombian food that will satisfy your tastebuds. Sancocho de rez, milanesa de carne, pollo empanizado, pea ado empanizado, yuca frita and so many other dishes are oh so good!

No complaints for this restaurant. Great environment. Clean, spacious, and comforting. The Mi Tierrita Special Platter is a great deal! It comes with steak, ¼ chicken, pork, salad, avocado, and rice&beans for only $ 15.95! Honestly how can you beat that? It could easily feed two people if you feel like sharing. The staff is very polite and definitely gives off a good vibe. You could sit down(casual dining) or take out. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for unique and amazing tasting food!

The food is fantastic and The portions are huge. the rotisserie chicken is my favorite although I love to venture off and try new things. The service is great and they offer spicy sauce to go if you get take out. I love the Mora juice with milk and the specialty platters that have a little bit of everything. Great to have found Colombian soul food on the island.

Food is mediocre and covered in grease. Service is terrible. I don’t know why my family goes back, hoping it’ll be better but when we leave we leave feeling gross.

I’ve ordered from Mi Tierrita a handle-full of times, but this was the first time I went in to eat. It has a lot of seating inside. We walked in and the hostess took us to our seat. It has a real Latin vibe inside, I felt like I was on vacation when I was there. They took our order right away and I got the chicken and rice, plus a side of the Ensalada Rusa, because it’s my favorite. The food came out quick and was cooked right. My chicken fell right off the bone and the rice, though not my favorite food, is really soft and flavorful. They don’t add hot sauce to the food and I like that because I don’t really like my food hot. I got champagne soda and they sent it to the table in a glass bottle, Yeah! I had a very good experience there. I plan to go again to try the steak. Next time I will probably sit at the bar, they looked like they were having fun with the staff over there.

I must say, the service has really dropped. Waited several long minutes before anybody came to the table. My guest had the sancocho de gallena, Chicken soup, and it had a funny taste. The chicken was quite tough, hard to chew. They didn’t even offer not to charge me for it, as It was barely consumed. Have to have second thoughts before I eat there again.

My dear Puerto Rican friend told me about this place. She said that if you want authentic Hispanic food this place is the best. I got take out for my family which included Grilled chicken, rice and beans, salsa verde and chicken soup. They primarily speak Spanish here so it can be a little intimidating but they understood my rudimentary Spanish. And the price, wow, unbelievable how much food you get. Will definitely go again.

To many people below are expecting American Style cooking. This is a completely different cuisine! Foods delicious! The homemade verde salsa they provide the table is just out of this world, honestly its one of the reasons I go! It has a fresh taste with this kick. The waiters/waitress are mostly Spanish as their first language… However they speak English pretty well. Its not like you walk in there and you become entirely lost in translation… I’ve been going to Mi Tierrita for years now and I’ve never been disappointed. Make sure you get their early because this place packs out quick during dinner time!

My first visit to this bustling restaurant. And I know why it is so busy, the food. We started with the house sangria, so delicious. A big glass, only 6.95 and so worth it. Tried the empanadas, delicious. I could easily have. Devoured more, tender been in side delicious golden friend dough. As the was our first visit we tried two players, both came with the best beans I have ever experienced. I could go back and just eat beans, and this coming from someone who normally does not enjoy beans in any form is a real compliment. Loved the fried plantain. The grilled steak and pork was awesome as was the rotisserie check. Next time you are out skip the Mexican food and head for Columbia!

If you like overly salty food and burnt arepas this is the place to go! Waste of my money, when the food came it looked nice. The plate was full of food, nice size my typical platter which consisted of ground beef, rice & beans, egg, avacado, pork skin, and a corn cake. Nice I thought. but when I tasted the salty beef it really threw me off. Thank goodness you cant go wrong with an avacado and an egg. My corn cake was burnt when I flipped it over. My arepa con queso looked as if it was cooked to perfection, as I took the second bite I got a mouthful of burnt sludge. Couldnt eat it, it was burnt under the cheese nicely hidden from site. I told the waitress this which she relayed to the manager. And his response was you ate some so you have to pay for it. Not a problem but what ever happened to my apologies can I get you another one not burnt or can I remove this off your bill? No professionalism at all. Maybe the manager needs to go to business school and learn how to treat customers. I didnt complain about the salty beef . I do not recommend anyone to eat there. If you want to spend your money go somewhere decent and more classy. There is plenty of Colombian fare on long island, why settle for less? I wont, lesson learned.

Pretty good. I can’t comment on how the service is because I choose to take my plate to go but I think their food is pretty good. I ordered the chicken platter which comes with chicken rice beans French frys salad and chicken soup all of which was pretty tasty. I do want to add I wish the chicken was seasoned a bit more but it taste like any rotisserie chicken you would buy in the store. They give you more than enough food which was great… it is definitely a bang for your buck! Not the best Spanish food I had but not even close to the worst. I will be back to try more selections :) and I would say its worth the try!

Horrible service, you will wait and wait for anout an hour for your food. Food is hit or miss. Been here about seven times and only had good food from here twice. Keep giving them benefit of the doubt but busy or slow the same service… crap. The other locations are much better ran then this one.

Disappointed. We are new to LI& still acclimating ourselves to the area, thought we’d try this place based on all the good reviews. Went here after 8pm on a Friday night… this place was hoppin! However the service was not. We tried the empanadas, they were pretty good. Crispy outside, tasty meat filling. I ordered the Grilled Pork Loin — it was crazy dry! I thought it was going to be cut like steak, but it was cut so thin(like ¼″ thin)! This made the meat very dry, & to top it off it wasn’t even marinaded or seasoned. My husband ordered the Grilled Flank Steak. his wasn’t dry, but wasn’t seasoned either. My entrée came with sweet plantain — I really enjoyed that! His came with fried casava… boring! Both entrees came with rice & beans which were quite tasty. I really didn’t like that they charge full price for refills. LAME! Especially because the Sprite was watered down. We may try it out again… just not in a rush to go back.

Went there for the first time with a friend of mine. It is a casual restaurant that doesn’t really offer anything aesthetically. With that being said, the food and the service was excellent. We had sweet plantains as an appetizer. I’ve never had them before. I enjoyed them. I got a grilled flank steak with interesting fried potatoes and rice and beans which was to die for. The prices were reasonable and definitely worth a shot if you like or want to try Columbian food.

Earlier this summer I was going nuts over Latin American food– I had to have it all the time! For lunch one day I decided to give Mi Tierrita a try with my fiancé who is a UPS driver in the local area. We met up during a horrendous rainstorm(during which we witnessed a tree splice in two in the parking lot) and walked into this fine establishment. Shakira was singing over the speakers and I knew I was in the right place! We sat in a booth next to the window and waited to be served. Our waiter came over after a few minutes with menus. After looking over the extensive list, we decided to order the same lunch item. When ordering, the waiter asked if we wanted to order 1 or 2 of the same entrée which should have been our indication of something large to come. We wanted 2, please. Should have listened to the waiter: the $ 10 meal we got was HUUUUUUUUGE. Soup, chicken, rice and beans, fries, salad… WHOABABY. Delicious food, large portions, great service. We’ll be back for sure.

Mary C hits it dead on — COMEHUNGRY, or, be prepared to take food home with you. From the outside, this appears to be an old Pizza Hut. Simple, nondescript, and billing itself as a «rotisserie» place. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Inside, it’s simple, no-frills, but clean. Service is smiling, helpful and attentive. Fact — they make good rotisserie chicken. but with all the other AMAZING options, who wants to stop there? Portion sizes are MASSIVE. Empanadas are crispy outside, soft and buttery inside, and the filling is nothing short of wonderful. There are a huge variety of «typical» platters, so that you can try different combinations of things. I also suggest take-out for a-la-carte selections — the portion sizes there are shareable between 3 people at LEAST. Watch out for extra special surprises: «Steamed» casava is more than that — it’s buttery, fragrant, and seasoned wonderfully. Whoever cooks up the beans deserves a medal for flavor(watch out for bones!). Plantains are perfectly prepared, whether crispy fried, or sweet and butter soft. «Ground beef» is a deliciously seasoned treat that begs to be blended with rice & beans, or just chowed as-is. Even the RICE has the perfect degree of soft-to-sticky. The pork skin is also a crispy treat. Steak and chicken is lovingly seasoned. Margaritas? Toss in a pitcher of those too, ‘cuz they’re tasty and well made. What’s the finishing touch? The PRICES — no rip off here, in fact, it’s actually CHEAP for what they deliver! This place is pure gold — NOT to be missed!

Took a drive to Patchogue to try something new. Good lord I think Unilocal is a cult! A wonderful food Cult! Since I became a clan member. I will never leave. Thank you clan for giving this place the good reviews. So worth a trip and a ride to get some Colombian food. Bandeja Tipica was just great. The blood sausage is really really good. This is a first time ever eating a blood sausage and it was just amazing. Who knew I didn’t have to take a ride to Westbury for good Colombian food. The flan was just OK and tasted like Goya.

COMEHUNGRY ! Colombians know how to eat. It’s hearty, heavy, stick to your ribs type of meal. If you can’t handle it, go eat a salad. My boyfriend and I were craving some spanish food.(rice and beans — yum!). Found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try! Really great food and nice place. Very roomy with good service. I learned Colombians love to wear white jeans. It’s a Colombian thing? All the servers had them on. Here’s what we got for DRINKS: MARACUYA — It’s fresh passion fruit made into a delicious refreshing drink. You can decide whether you want it blended with water to make a juice or with milk to make a shake.($ 3.25) Colombiana Soda — Very candy sweet… not crazy about it. But at a $ 1.50 a pop, give it a try. It may be something that toots your horns. FOOD: Arepa Con Queso — corn bread with mozzarella cheese Bandeja Tipica(grilled steak, pork skin, egg, corn cake, sweet plantain, avocado, rice & beans) Sobrebarriga A La Plancha(salad, grilled flank steak, rice & beans) We had the Arepas for an appetizer. Very filling! It’s 2 pieces of corn bread with mozarella cheese in the middle. Delicious — but made us kinda full. My boyfriend ordered the Bandeja Typicas. It is the quintessential Colombian dish. I ordered the Sobrebarriga A La Plancha. I wasn’t that crazy about the flank steak. Flank is too stringy to be a steak. It’s more shredded beef type of meat, not steak. I love the rice and beans and the fried yuca. Fried yuca is soo much heavier than your regular potato french fries. Overall, great food, good price, LOTS of leftovers. I probably ate 1⁄8 of my dish. Can’t wait to have leftovers for lunch!
