Very disrespectful! This was my first experience because my grandchildren wanted it — I wish I had kept going. I had a car full of people and was told I have to drive thru again to get the special because they run on a time limit — it that be the case then why did people have to wait for the tenders to be cooked — I mean what the hell — the girl at the drive thru was the worse ever and the manager protected her — so in this place the customer is wrong and they are right — I won’t be back! The lost a good customer — believe that! I have been to a lot of Popeyes — but this one was from hell!

Wow. Just wow. I don’t even know where to begin. Totally disappointing from start to finish. This place has to be a front operation laundering money for some crime ring. There is no way they can operate this way and expect anyone to return. It’s literally the only thing that makes sense. I’ve been craving some Popeye’s for some time now, and today was finally the day! I head inside all set to go bananas ordering everything I might possibly want on the menu figuring I’d stock up on some leftovers. I’m imagining walking out with some spicy chicken, some tenders and biscuits, a little cole slaw and cajun fries, maybe even some red beans and rice. Well, not so fast big fella. To start, the monitor that displays the menu at the counter was not working and there were no other menus to be had. So considering that this was my first time at a Popeye’s since there was one on middle country road in Centereach like a million years ago, I had no idea what my options were. OK, we’ll figure something out but… The poor girl behind the register was new according to the nasty woman who I imagine was responsible for training her, except this nasty woman was on the customer side of the counter and was far more interested in her cell phone than helping anyone. She was literally watching video on her phone and laughing out loud like a crazy person while simultaneously being incredibly rude to the customer on line in front of me who had questions. It was surreal. So I’ve decided to cut my risk and opted just for spicy and mild tenders, a biscuit, fries & cole slaw. The best part of the meal was the the mardi gras mustard sauce. That stuff was legit. But the tenders were cold and old. Same for the fries. Cole slaw tasted sour and the biscuit, well who freakin’ cares at this point? Head to this place at your own risk. To sum up: The good: Mardi gras mustard sauce. The bad: The food, the service, the menu board, the parking lot, the people, everything else.

It’s Popeyes — what’s there to know?(4 solid fast-food stars) Check their website before heading out — sometimes there’s a pretty tasty sounding special, but usually you’re better off just going with what you knew you would be getting when you left the house: a bunch of delicious fried chicken and biscuits. Don’t make the mistake of asking if the items advertised in the promotional cards scattered about the restaurant and splattered on the windows are«in yet», or they will definitely let you know you’re not the first one to ask them the question(Sorry Popeye’s lady, I asked out of love, truly). I’ve never found it to be packed inside, but the parking lot is a bit small so you may have to pull all the way in and do a tight turnaround in order to go find another spot if its all occupied. Sometimes they try to short me on sauces, so you might want to specify a number or be prepared to ask for more(INTROVERTWARNING: YOUMAYHAVETOASKFORMOREOFSOMETHING!) If you are prone to analysis paralysis like me, the Coke machine is something of a nightmare. It combines a so-so touch screen with sticky residue; and would allow people to get lost in a maze of flavor creation — except this one seems to usually be out of half of a given product at any particular time. That has happened a few times that I have gone here, so maybe they’ll fix whatever is causing this to happen, or it’ll continue to exist as such — so just be warned if you had your heart set on creating a magical grape flavored orange cherry sprite and your dreams are crushed finer than the ice from their Byzantine-machine.(The ice has always worked for me, so at least there’s that, right?) Usually I just want cherry coke. I’m disappointed about 50% of the time. I personally like their«sweet heat» sauce and get spicy chicken — there’s enough pepper in there to produce a little flop sweat from my brow, and their fries are crispy goodness. They added a TV in the seating area tuned to News 12, which is nice because when I come here to shamefully eat as much as I possibly can, it allows me to alternate stares between my smaller glowing screen and their larger one. The staff here is pretty friendly and helpful, and the tables are mostly kept clean. There might be a dreaded red light camera at the light right outside the entrance to this joint. Although I probably should have put that at the heading, consider it a bonus for having read all the way to the end!

This Popeyes is terrible. I’ve been there 4 times, and each time the wait was insane. It seemed Like there was only two people working there at a time. Twice I was the only person there waiting to order and it had taken 10 or more minutes for someone to come over.(They were too busy doing drive though) Every time I have been there it has taken 15 minutes or more to get my food after I ordered.

I admit that this location does not have their act together, my last time there the drive through speaker was broken so I had to go inside which is tough because parking there is awful. With that said the food is just as good as any other Popeye’s I’ve been do.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I’m about 20 minutes away but prefer this location over Shirley. I usually place large orders so I go inside rather than slowing up the drive thru. The staff have been very nice, good portion sizes, and the taste is signature Popeyes(consistently good). I highly recommend the Patchogue location.

Came here today with my kids for a late lunch about 2:30. There was NO line!!! Hooray! We actually decided to eat in and we got good service from the staff. But I overheard the manager speaking to someone and he came off being very curt, borderline rude. Glad it wasn’t me he was talking to, that’s all I will say on that. Other than that the place was calm and we enjoyed our Chicken, Popcorn Shrimp, Cajun Fries, Mashed Potatoes, Biscuits. We also had the Cinnamon Apple Pie which was very good. We’ll definitely be back now that there seems to be some order here.

They still don’t got it together at this place, either u wait on line very long whether u r only person there or not or they don’t have what you order, they are out of condiments or what is advertised they will politely advise you that is no longer available. isn’t this a new store, how are you out of anything and how is anything advertised not offered. Unfortunately for me I’m still only one at window waiting at least 15mins for my food i paid for after a long days work. Spare yourself go to Shirley. They still way ahead of this location! Never had a problem and at this location I’ve always have had a problem. I only return because its closer to my house… no more after today sheesh… still waiting edit review still waiting lol

This is a rating for the new Shirley location but they weren’t on Unilocal.Food was awful. Very very salty. I hardly ate anything and I was full very quickly. Its because of the salt content. And the food is very expensive for the salted outer grizzle that makes up most of what you will eat. And the corn on the cob is mush. It didn’t even pop in your mouth. Like a salted buttery paper towel wrapped around a stick. Yum. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Some people love it. I think this is one of those places that you either love or hate.

Great food, nice staff but bad management and owner. Furthermore I stopped in on 2÷8÷15 Sunday and had a delicious tackle box combo and a two piece with biscuit and wanted to compliment on their food. Francisco asked if I did the survey and I said yes but no code was generated so he asked the other young female manager if that was normal and said if you buy another 2 pce chicken to get another receipt to try again to see if the code would appear. I waited around for 20 minutes until the cashier went back to him to see what can be done so I can leave. He said to her, write down buy a 2 piece and get 3 free. She wrote it on my receipt as per frank. Today I went back to redeem my free chicken pieces and the owner said it was a mistake and stipulated that a the 3 pieces will be honored if a 2 piece combo with a 44oz drink was purchased. Poor, poor service and then the owner said that Popeyes meant to put on the receipt get a free 2 piece chicken and biscuit if you order a two piece combo with a large drink.

I’m not surprised at the wait time, at the moment. It’s new, not their fault. A menu before you get to place your order would really keep the traffic flowing. The parking situation there is a total nightmare. The food has been good so far, very expensive though. I noticed last night they had a sign by the exit for $ 3.99 Butterfly shrimp with fries and a biscuit. I’m pretty sure that isn’t on their menu but I could be wrong. The first time I went inside to order, they shorted me two pieces of chicken, the garbage can was over flowing and there were people waiting for a place to sit. Oh yeah, the over hang at the pick up window is leaking directly over where you stop to get your food. They had a plastic bag hanging from it, but within a minute myself and my car got pretty wet. Bah. Hoping the Shirley location will be better.

My first review of 2015! Yay! i don’t know what all the negative reviews are about. This city girl loves Popeye’s!!! I’ve dreamed of the day we get one here… Now it’s here! Im unsure if Long Islanders are expecting gourmet, it’s fast food! On my way home from an outing I called ahead to get the closing time as it was New Year’s Day. The employee that answered was very polite. Eagerly I went & hit the drive-thru. The guy quickly made sure I knew that the debit/credit machine was down. Only problem was a car came behind me & I could not reverse but had to wait for all the cars in front of me to receive their orders. A drive-up ATM is literally 2 mins left from Popeye’s. Came back and ordered my family meal. Within minutes I had my food and one of my favorite hot sauces in hand! The chicken was hot & fresh! The biscuits were hot & ready to be taken DOWN! The macaroni & cheese was far from the best but again… this is fast food! I cannot explain how happy it made me to have a piece of the city come home with me! The employees are friendly and I believe accommodated the long line in front of me pretty well. I had no problems with them at all. I will be coming back of course because I love that chicken from Popeye’s!!! Happy Unilocaling!

This place has the worst service I’ve ever seen. Waiting for 30+ minutes to find out that your food is still wrong, overpriced meals that require you to purchase a drink that they don’t even remember to give to you, credit card machine problems… Whoever the franchisee is should be forcibly terminated from their agreement and Popeyes should clean house and start over. The Lindenhurst location isn’t like this, and I hope the Shirley location isn’t the same franchisee as Patchogue.

I’ve been to this location twice this week and left without any food both times. The first time, they said their fryer broke, so they were closing early. There was still chicken in the mild basket when they took my order for an 8 piece meal, but by the time they tried to fill my order, they were out. The manager, Sal, refunded my money and told me to come back today and he would get me the meal free for my trouble. Of course, today, Sal wasn’t there. The other manager had me wait for twenty minutes before even talking to me, then told me that instead of the 8 piece that I had ordered the other day, which Sal had said he would give me today, he would only give me a 3 piece. After having waited so long, I was beyond annoyed, so I said no thanks and left. My experience with this place so far has been very negative. I could have driven to the next closest Popeye’s and back in the amount of time that I spent here.
