Baballeujah this place is bomb! Craving Middle Eastern food, I hit up my Palestinian friend for a recommendation for some authentic deliciousness. She swears by this place and now I see why. Set in the middle of a residential area of Paterson, this place rests on a corner and is pretty hard to see if you’re not looking for it. It sits beneath a home and/or apartments. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and were able to find parking on the street fairly easily. I believe that’s the only option. Once we arrive, there is a line almost seeping out of the doorway. However, the dining area seems pretty big and the waiting area pretty small, so we wait. So glad we did. The food here was AMAZING. We ordered the babaganoush, falafel, and the mixed meat platter for two. SO. MUCH. FOOD. We had a ton of food leftover. The fresh pita bread was so very delicious. Service was a little slow. We had a difficult time getting our check in the end and actually had to go looking for the waiter. It is probably because there seems to be a communal attitude amongst waiters here, so we were never sure which one was ours. However, the food far made up for any delay in service. This was exactly what I was looking for: authentic and delicious. This is where Middle Eastern people go to eat, so if they trust this place, you know it’s good! I will most definitely come back here… even though I live in Elizabeth and this is about a 30 minute trek, it’s well worth the trip. You will not be disappointed. Promise.

Wow… came here for iftar and hands down the best tasting buffet out there! All sorts of delicious tasting salads and a variety of food in the buffet. From Arabic to seafood and many more. It’s a must try

The best place to eat in Paterson! Anytime we food like eating Arabic food, we always end up going here! They have a juice bar with fresh squeezed juices that are amazing!

I will never ever come to this place again. The service is horrible, I basically had to ask for EVERYTHING… From utensils, to napkins and other items. On top of that, the food took FOREVER to come and when it did it had no taste. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If I could I would give this ½ star. Also, if you are Arab then only will they give you the best service! They are very bias towards their own kind.

Took an hour and a half to get the mint lemonade, and to finally give our orders. Meanwhile everyone around us was getting their main course within 20 minutes of ordering.

Tried this restaurant because of good Unilocal reviews, I can say without hesitation that this is the BEST middle eastern food ive ever had. Had to park my car on the way back and take a nap as I went into a Heavenly food coma!

Everything about this place is fantastic. Everyone who works there is so pleasant and friendly. The food is the best I’ve ever tasted. There really isn’t much else I can say about this place other than the fact that it does just about everything right. We recently moved to north haledon and are thrilled that this place is a bit closer to us now! Schwarma, eggplant, everything– delicious. Check em out!

Yum, Yum, Yum!!! Ordered take out Falafels, Hummus, Tabouleh and Garlic sauce for my dad’s birthday. We were on a vegan diet. I drove 25 mins to get to this place at the recommendation of my brother who lives locally. Worth the drive! Authentic mediterranean fare! Fresh, affordable, quick to fill my telephone order. They even gave me a small order of complimentary olives upon request. The food was delicious! Next time I’m in NJ and craving mediterranean, I’m only coming here!

Went back again last week. I must say, the service was speedy and has improved immensely. All of the food we ordered was delicious although I noticed the falafel recipe seems to have been changed. The pita was delicious and the basha platter was also delicious. Get the lemon and mint drink. The waiters could be a little more personable but hey, you can’t have it all.

Had to wait 2 hours for a plate of mixed grill. We had plans to go to NY I had guests with me and I was really annoyed. Finally after one hour the rice and salad come in. And by the time the meat came in the rice was cold as ice . Yuck and it didn’t even Taste that nice. Horrible service incompetent waiters and ridiculous pricing. Guys try levie for a better deal and genuinely good service. Don’t go here unless your a newly married couple and wouldn’t mind all the extra time staring into each other eyes Oh I havent told you the best part the restaurant was empty and we were one of two unfortunate soul families trapped in there. The other guy was still waiting for his food when we left. May his good rest in peace !

My boyfriend and I were here the other day, since I was craving some middle eastern food, and where else to look besides Paterson. We ordered the Al-Basha junior platter; thinking the word junior would mean a nice sizable portion. However, it was not the case. I only wished I read the reviews before ordering it. The platter could do for about 3 – 4 people. The meat was really good, cooked well done and with that nice crisp I like. My favorite was the lamb. However, the reason this place lacks one star is because the rice wasn’t as cooked as we would have preferred, it was cooked al-dente. Maybe they were having a busy day, considering the amount of people in the restaurant at the time. Another thing I should mention, is the mint lemonade drink is a must! It’s so tart and refreshing. I would drive all the way to Paterson again, just for it.

We were headed to a different place in the neighborhood but given the queue and the crowd inside, we elected to chance it here. We were pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The service was polite and hospitable. We’re definitely going back.

We were on our way home from NJ to PA and read about Al Basha on Unilocal and decided to hop off the I-80 to give it a try. We were so glad we did. We had never been in the Paterson area, but as soon as we got off the highway, we realized that it was going to be promising. The area is filled with Middle Eastern restaurants and establishments! Being from Vancouver, BC this is the kind of thing we like to see. We ordered the Jr Al Basha platter and an order of the falafels. It was unfortunate that take outs take 25 – 30 minutes(we should have ordered earlier) but it was honestly worth the wait. We were so surprised that our order came with so many sides! Some pita bread, olives, tabouleh salad… and the platter itself was huge! We ate some in the car, and had some left over for lunch the next day. And the falafels! Best I have ever had in my life. And you really can’t beat the price — everything came out to $ 22 even. If I lived closer, I would be here every week.

I was really excited to come here, but my excitement did not last. I came with about 6 other people and we started off by ordering the mezzah platter, in which a bunch of small plates are served. Very delicious, 5 stars there. The hummus was to die for… I love hummus. Half of us ordered chicken shawarma plates, and the other half had the falafel sandwiches. The chicken was no shawarma, but more of a fajita style chicken and flavorless fajitas at that. NO!!! The falafel was one of the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of falafel. We ordered more hummus to take home since it was so good. Service is friendly and very fast. The place overall does not seem very clean. Prices are fair…

This is probably the only middle eastern spot for me to go in NJ. It’s located on a busy street in Paterson, so parking is a bit of a pain. Anyhow the décor in this place is a little dated, the service can be a tad slow at times. That being said this place has great food. I really love middle eastern food and the majority of restaurants on the east coast don’t cut it for me. Albasha somehow seems to always be above the rest. The food is cooked the way you like, they have a nice blend of spices, you won’t ever feel the food here is over seasoned. The portions are generous and they are very accomadating. So I am a huge fan of garlic sauce lol yes it’s not a sauce you wanna have on date night but man they actually make it and it’s not on their menu. So I usually call ahead and special order it. It goes great with all types of beef or meat. Definitely appreciate how accomadating they are here. Like I said, the best spot in Nj for middle eastern food.
