Excellent community restaurant. Seeing as how Paterson, NJ has become a post-up spot for shabbily-run Latino businesses, it’s good to see the old-guard in Paterson continuing to provide great food and great service to the pre-2006 inhabitants. Their food is ALWAYS cooked fresh to order whenever I go there, and the prices are to DIE for. Seriously. You could not get a better bargain, especially not for Mr. G’s AWESOME quality. Very simple, yet elegant mixture of classic American cuisine, with the ever-prevalent trait of Southern/soul food. Each time I go, I am more and more impressed. Great omelettes. Splendid catfish. WONDERFUL chicken and waffles. Just a great down-home diner, w/their Soul Food twist!

Visited this place over the May 16 weekend to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday. It is not too far from the house(less than a 10 minute drive) but I enjoyed my meal. The place is unassuming, when you walk in it has an old school diner with plenty of room to sit and big a nice size group to(I would say no more than 6 just to be comfortable). The area isn’t the most inviting but that should not deter you from excellent, fresh off the grill, piping hot food. My family and I sat down and instantly knew it would be an egg white and turkey sausage veggie omelet(don’t get excited they do not have mushrooms and spinach just peppers, onions, and tomatoes), a side of grits, whole wheat toast, and side of green beans(yes I eat vegetables for breakfast). My grandfather opted for catfish(large and generous in portion), black coffee, and a side of toast. My mother went on to order waffles(she stated it was barely hot but was a good meal), turkey bacon, and hot tea. My uncle joined us later and opted for a veggie omelet with cheese, home fries, and orange juice. Let me tell you no one left their hungry. Even as we chowed down on our meals I couldn’t help but admire the hearty plump sausages that lined other diner’s plates, the golden circles of pancakes drenched in syrup, the rush of steam and orders coming from the grill for fresh hot food to be picked up and hustled to the table. This place is worth the money and I would go back again just to try other options on the menu. Highly recommended so much so that this will be my first review ever where I cannot seem to find any flaws or cons
