I will give this place 2 stars because the property was very nice, the structures were beautiful and the running stream was a nice touch. The service was terrible. The older women pouring the wine was not very friendly, or very interested in waiting on us. We had to wave her back over every time, and we had to ask her to empty and rinse our glasses before she poured the next taste. The inside was not very well kept, garbage left on the tasting bar, and the wine list had old writing all over them, making it difficult to read. Did enjoy one of the taste, no offer to assist us in purchasing anything. Wont be back.

Went the other week after being away for 20 years. Still a nice place to go with the girls for a fun afternoon. Friendly staff. Good wines. Pick your fav and take a few bottles home. Only complaint is that you can’t take the glass home with you.

I’ve never thought of myself as a «wine snob», but I am picky about the wines I like, and this is one of my absolute favorite wineries. I live in Indianapolis, but I really don“t care for any of the Indiana wines that I’ve tried.(Sorry!) We were on vacation at nearby Hemlock Lake Campground(near the lovely village of Marcellus, MI) this past week so we made sure to include a stop at Warners. Our favorites are the Gewurtztriminer, the Riesling, and the Grapes of Love. The winery is picturesque with a quaint babbling brook flowing past it.

Visited with a Bachelorette party. Bar is not that big, so after 3 groups were in there, it was pretty crowded. Wines were fantastic though. I don’t have a sophisticated palate however. :) Grapes of Love wine was pretty good. Their Holliberry was my favorite! Bought 3 bottles. Worth going to because you get 6 tastes for $ 5. Good atmosphere to hangout and have fun. Workers were pleasant and easy to communicate with all in all. I’ve never visited a winery, so I can’t make a comparison.

We stopped in because it has the last name as a friend of ours. The outside was gorgeous and I could see good times sitting outside and enjoying a bottle. The inside was a little different, almost like a dungeon. The woman running the tasting was pretty short, but the wines were okay, so I didn’t let it bother me. We ended up leaving with a couple bottles still

We went to Kalamazoo from Chicago for a wedding. We were in no rush to get back home so we followed the billboard from the highway. Best decision ever. What a gem of a place. Good wine and great people. This place made our day, and Amy made our week.

My parents came in from the east coast to visit me in Kalamazoo for the weekend. We decided to do an afternoon of wine tasting in the area. One of our stops was Warner Vineyards. I was a bit put off from the start, mainly because of the moldy stench coming from the stagnant creek in front of the vineyard. We walked in, and the woman at the front demanded that we pay in advance. I’ve done some tastings across Michigan, the east coast, and the west coast and never had to pay in advance. Despite this, we paid it and started looking at the tasting list. My mom and I were excited to try the champagnes. We were told by the guy behind the bar, who was almost grumbling rather than talking, that champagnes weren’t on the tasting menu because you can’t store them until the next day. Not really good business sense at all. Also, he was clearly sick of doing his job at the end of the day and barely described the tasting menu to us. It’s hard to get excited about wines if the proprietor of the tasting room can’t get excited. Then, the guy said to my dad that he was going to need to take lessons from him because he had two women with him. My mom was pretty appalled and informed the guy that I was their daughter.(PS I look very much like them!) How creepy! We decided to leave without tasting any wines. We waited for a bit before the guy gave us our money back. No wonder they require prepayment. DONOTGO. Surly and CREEPY employees.

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back to Detroit. The grounds are nice and it’s a quaint location in a western Michigan town. We were very disappointed with our experience here. At noon, we were only the 2nd car there, we should’ve turned around then. The only employee working that day needs a lesson in customer service. I’m sure she meant well and was trying to be «personal» with us and the other group there, but it didn’t go over well at all. She got a call from a telemarketer while we were there and proceeded to complain to us and tell us all about it. There’s a fine line between being personal with customers to make sure they enjoy their experience and over-sharing to the point that they want to run to the nearest exit. She definitely crossed that line. St. Julian’s next door is a much better option.

We stopped in on a cold, wintry day to find a friendly, warm 3rd generation Warner welcoming us into his tasting room. Having tasted the fruits of napa valley and various French creations, I was curious to what the grapes fed from Lake Michigan’s bountiful waters would provide us. Their popular sellers are fruity and sweet, which is understandable, but their drier reds were surprisingly nice. This is a fantastic variety of wines to check out and I plan on returning once my purchased stock runs dry.

This is my most favorite winery. The workers are all cheerful and knowledgeable about the product. The wine is crafted excellent they have a restaurant. It is so yummy. I buy the wine by the case. I love this place. The Peach and honey wine will never disappoint.

I liked the wine here, but I am not by any means a connoisseur either. I can see some of the other comments about the woman there… I think she is nice, but can be pretty«blunt» as well. I was there last year, and sampled the 6 wines an the purchased a few bottles of what we liked. Now they, along with St. Julian I guess, are charging $ 5.00 each for tasting. Sorry… not spending $ 5 for my wife and I too see which we like… I can go somewhere and get a entire bottle for that $ 10. I think they need to so something where they credit it back if you make a min purchase… makes visiting the«wine trail» way more expensive for those not willing to drop $ 500 on a wine trip. I understand trying to stop the large free loading groups, but don’t penalize everyone to try your product.

Beautiful grounds(Paw Paw location), but really not very nice people. The sign out front says«Free tastings, Free Tours,» but they charge $ 5 for a tasting of 6 wines and offer no tours. The woman behind the counter responded to this with«that sign has been up there for 37 years and it ain’t coming down. We have the right to change our policies and if you don’t like it, sue me.» Apparently, she reserves the right to change policies, but still advertise the old ones. Then, after purchasing a tasting, she set down a paper that included fine print saying that the ice wine is an extra $ 5 to taste. NOT part of the tasting fee. AFTER we paid and began the tasting. She then proceeded to complain about the village threatening to tear down their water tower because it is an eyesore(needs paint badly), complaining that it would cost $ 40k to paint, after having bragged that the owner was worth millions. All around, rude and disrespectful woman and extremely intrusive. I would really like to give them no stars. Oh yeah, the wine. Mediocre.

This place was hopping and while I think the guys was crocked… lol. He was F U N!!! We didnt buy a whole lot, but they were very knowledgable, fun and very nice. Well, at least our guy. The lady behind the counter serving next to him, WOW. I was glad we didnt have her. ;) She rang us up and was fine there, but she was a stickler on what she had and the«rules». I think wine tasting should be fun and dickey doo made our tasting wonderful. He sold us on a few bottles. The view, the property, its beautiful. The tasting room is dark. However, it was better than I thought it would be and I’d go back again. Give it a try.

The worst experience EVER! My friend and I have been Warner Shoppers for awhile. We have over the last couple years bought cases at a time and have overlooked the lack of prefessionalism from the PawPaw location. This past experience we can not overlook– It was a Monday about 12:30 in the afternoon. We pulled in the lot where there were other cars parked under a tree(we had chocolates from Vineyard Gourmet(yum) in the car) so I parked behind the other car in the shade. Well one of the employees was in the lot w a gentlemen and rudely told me I couldn’t park there. So starting off on the wrong foot, I moved my car. Upon entering the winery I picked up a couple bottles of wine I knew I wanted. While waiting for my friend to return from the restroom I was told by Amy(the employee we have had serveral experiences with and most are tastings while she rants about the work conditions and other employees) there are people waiting for her. The other employee(the one from the parking lot) entered and was talking to Amy about where she will be to meet. Once my friend returned I said«they have a new wine» so we decided to taste it. Amy walks over, rudely sets 2 glasses on the bar. To which I comments«oh you have glasses again»(they had plastic shot cups prior to which her respose was«yeah so». We tasted the wine decided it wasn’t good and wanted to get out of the hostile environment. So we purchased our wine, while listening to «I have people waiting for me and I hate drunks and especially with harvest time coming» and left in amazement at what had happen. Needless to say I will NOT be returning to this winery and I will make sure my wine friends know of this treatment and BEWARE if you go. Shocking!

Got here 15 minutes before it closed after a trip from out of town, and we were met by a nasty woman in the parking lot who rudely told us to leave and come back another time, and that she wasn’t letting anyone else in. I mean, they should maybe change their hours(we called on the way over) if they want to close up shop and leave work early. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back. Disappointed.

I dont know who was pouring our tastings — but he was sooo friendly and full of knowledge. Came here for a girls weekend and they were not at all phased by having 18 girls stroll in all wanting to taste. Best of all — 6 tastes for free! The building where the tastings were was very historic and beautiful — perfect for tasting a glass of good wine. Again — the man pouring was great. Explained the difference in aging wine in oak barrels vs stainless steel. A great place to visit and learn a bit while your at it!

I have to preface this by saying that I have not been to the vineyard itself, but I did go to the tasting room in South Haven in the summer. The tasting room is down on the docks, and the room was dominated by the bottles upon bottles of wine for sale. The gentleman who assisted us was not going to be happy until he had us taste pretty much every wine they make– and I was not in the position to argue with him. I had an extremely enjoyable time. The wines are not the best I have ever had– but they are incredibly affordable. There were a few bottles that we liked enough to pick up and enjoy with dinner at home — but not anything we loved enough to make a «special occasion» bottle out of.

Two words: TOURISTTRAP Mediocre at best. Friendly service, horrible food, ok wine. Warner vineyards was not a vinyard, it was a tasting room and I felt lied to as the description says vineyard. The«quaint» river and setting they describe is far from the truth. Its nestled 2 blocks away from arbys, burger king, gas stations, and the like. The river is a sad stagnant creek. The food at the partner restaraunt Kevins was horrible. I ordered the veggie wrap, which was described lusciously, but came out with soggy spinach wrapped in a damp bleached flour tortilla with a side of generic also soggy colslaw. The burger my girlfriend ordered made her sick. Also, the décor is something to behold, cheap plastic(moldy?) chairs outside, hanging work lights instead of lanterns, and it looks like a construction zone. The kitchen looked dirty and it seems they do everything there as cheaply as possible. Good: Wonderful Waitress Bad: Everything else
