Tonight’s dinner at Gallagher’s was unforgettable, unfortunately not in the way you’d want it to be unforgettable. As a general rule, bad service is what I feel ruins a restaurant and Gallagher’s had spectacularly bad service this evening. My family and I arrived amid the dinner hour and joined four other tables of diners seated outside(along with one table seated inside). The outside seating is beautiful nestled right on the water and surprisingly there was no bug problem whatsoever. After enjoying the beautiful setting for a few minutes we began to notice our lack of service and started counting the number of times waitstaff came out onto the patio and continued to ignore our existence. The final tally was nine times for four separate servers(three different times I made direct eye contact with one of them) until we finally were given menus. After receiving menus and rushing to get our drink orders in we began to wait for our food to be prepared to our liking. My wife decided to sample a cup of the potato soup(an Irish inspired specialty of the house) and have the small plate of fried perch alongside. I went with the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap(minus tomatoes of course) and the kids both stretched their culinary palettes with chicken fingers. Drink service was very slow, but not to the point of being a problem, however it took a long time for our dinner to come out of the kitchen. In the meantime one of the little ones decided that she needed to go to the rest room. As I escorted her in I overheard the kitchen telling our waitress that her patio food was up. After hearing that I thought I would be in luck and when I returned I would have food ready and waiting. .. Nope. .. I returned to the table and after a minute the other little on decided a bathroom trip was necessary and when we returned our food had arrived. Surprisingly it wasn’t cold, and nobody else on the patio had received food in the meantime so I’m not sure what caused that five minute delay. As for the food, the kids chicken fingers were a little better than average, they looked as if they may have actually contained real chicken meat so I’ll give them a thumbs up for that. My wife’s perch was very good but the soup was abysmal. The potatoes were under-cooked and it had no seasoning rather it tasted like slightly under cooked potatoes floating in cream. My wrap was quite tasty after I spent three minutes surgically removing what had to have been a half of tomato that was sliced up and inside. The humorous part of the wrap was that the waitress stopped by to refill our drinks as I was doing surgery and didn’t bother to say a word even though it was clear I had disassembled the entire wrap and was scrapings tomatoes out. We had promised the kids that we would get desert as a an end of summer celebration, unfortunately after waiting at least five minutes for the server to arrive we gave up and I asked for our check at the bar and we left and got desert elsewhere. I really don’t like to give negative reviews, but there were so many opportunities for Gallagher’s to shine here and they fell flat on their face for every one of them. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and they clearly had enough staff to support the guests they had(1 manager/bartender, 1 host, 3 wait staff and at least two people in the kitchen). I hope they get their act together as this is a location I used to like to visit a lot and we just haven’t been over there in a while. If our service tonight is indicative of their standards I don’t expect they’ll be around much longer. I’d like to say I’ll try it again, but with Bistro 120 just down the street they’ll always get my vote, I just wish their patio even remotely compared to Gallagher’s.

If you are looking for a typical, run of the mill Irish themed bar/grill, you’ve found it. Food is OK, but I’ll give them a big thumbs up for an extensive Beer collection. Staff very courteous and attentive.

There to celebrate, the place had one other table in use.(red flag) Nice looking place, clean and friendly. New waitress with out training and not familiar with the food they serve. We all got sandwiches and we all had a complaint. Prices didn’t look bad till we got our food, all on the mini side. Mine was a pre processed, pre formed Ruben sandwich with hardly any sour croute or dressing on a 3″ x 5″ Rye toast. The meat was funny tasting, like can, tinny. I did not eat it. Others said comments like«Glad I’m hungry or I wouldn’t eat this» and«My hamburger is very hard» and«My Kettle chips are just bag chips». WEWON’T BEBACK !

Wow, this place is a epic fail. The servers are clueless and rude. I have tried eat here 2x, the servers don’t know what the food is made of, or what it should look like. Upon receiving my food, it was made wrong.(I had not modified the order from the specs) they should know how to prepare their own food. Then after I told my server I was not happy, she didn’t offer me a different option. She just gave me the bill, the full bill, crappy meal I didn’t eat included. I do not recommend this eatery, to anyone. Blah.

An okay place to eat. This is in a fairly small town area, so there aren’t a ton of choices, but we decide to go here because it was close to the hotel. We felt it was very overpriced for what it was. They were having a 25% off Irish fare that night, so that made it more affordable. We had the shepherd’s pie and the irish egg rolls. The pie was not great at all. Mediocre at best. For as much as they charge, we were surprised what a small little crock-like dish it came in. The taste was bland. The egg rolls, stuffed with cabbage, corned beef etc., was much better. A very unique dish. The best part about it was their guiness sauce they serve with it. The people were very nice, but getting the food was a slooowwww process, then the server forgot two items we ordered and we had to wait again for the rest of the meal. All in all, okay if you’re not too picky, or are in not any hurry.

This is a fantastic location for casual dining. First and foremost, the wait staff is fantastic. Very polite and quick to help without you feeling as if they are«hovering» over you and bothering you. The location is quiet(much quieter than I would have anticipated given the amount of people there) and in the bar /eating area there are a number of T.Vs. A great place to eat while watching your favorite sporting event. And they have KENO! The food is very good and the dessert is fantastic. I had the Mac and Cheese on side(very good) and the buffalo chicken wrap which was out of this world. Also, the portions are what you would want. No food is thrown away but you do not leave hungry. For a «bar» atmosphere, the pizza(My son had it) was incredible. My wife enjoyed her reuben. Clearly it is a local hang out as well, which is always a sign the place is good. I would highly recommend going here… a great place on your way up North however I live about 30 minutes away and I will definitely make the trip just to eat here. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Pop did not have much carbonation, salad was like a bagged salad – just shredded carrots, cabbage, and some tired old lettuce, burger was LOADED with grease and waiter said that that is the Gallaghers Burger, and was not nice on getting me a new bottom bun to replace the one that was so greasy it disintegrated when I touch it. NOT happy with the meal. Will NOT return!

Service was good, but didn’t love the food. The sweet potatoe fries were very commercial, the salad was sparce and the cheesecake tasted like it was old and had been in the fridge for days. Wasn’t great. The waiter was very nice and helpful and the drinks were good. Food just wasn’t up to par… no wonder the crowd was sparce on a Friday night.

½ off pizza on Monday, they were almost of out dough by the time we got there though so be earlier than us(7pm). I had the santa fe chicken wrap and it was super delicious. The pizza had mixed reviews. The outdoor seating was wonderful, warm summer evening in a gazebo next to a river. Doesn’t get better than that. Our group of six only had one order forgotten/mixed up, so 5 out of 6 ain’t bad. Pretty reasonably priced, around 10 $ p/p, except for the ½ off pizzas which were way less as they are big enough to share. I’d recommend this place.

If you love eating out of sourdough bread bowls as much as I do, then you will love Gallagher’s! My favorite meal here is the Dublin Potato Soup inside a sourdough bread bowl. I love it so much I can barely remember ordering anything else(even though I know I have since I’ve come here dozens of times). This is one of two locations, with the other being in Kalamazoo, MI. These restaurants have been family owned since their beginning in 1998, and you can tell that lots of love and creativity goes into their cooking. They have a new appetizer now that I can’t wait to try called, «Lamb and Beef Sliders». Mmhmm, mmhmm, now that sounds tasty. They also serve a pizza here with an Irish twist to it called Rosemary Chicken and Potato Pizza. Ahh, now that was a delicious pizza split amongst friends; I do remember that order. They also have regular pizza, tons of sandwiches and burgers to choose from, salads, Irish-influenced meals(including another chance to eat out of a bread bowl if you order their«Guinness Irish Stew»), steaks & ribs, pasta & chicken, seafood, and even a kid’s menu! Wooh, that was a lot to type. So many choices, how can you go wrong? Especially when it’s all delicious. And they even have a great outside dining area beside the Paw Paw River. Such a nice ambiance. I can’t wait to dine here again. P. S. If you are a fan of sports and/or alcohol, then you will love this place. Huge HDTVs broadcasting the big games and a boast of over 400 different brands of bottled and draft beers from around the world will ensure you a night you won’t remember ^^

A friend and I stumbled upon this mom-and-pop restaurant on our drive from Chicago to Detroit. We realized we were starving the Paw Paw exit was the next to pop up, so we took it and I immediately booted up the Unilocal app. Every restaurant with ratings was a bit of a drive from the expressway, but we knew we didn’t want fast food. And then — Gallaghers! Spotted it a few feet from the off ramp, the parking lot was half full AND it wasn’t a chain. Three wins right off the bat! Upon entering, we were greeted with a cozy dining area with a mix of booths and tables, chandelier lighting and football playing on flat screens that litter the walls. Our very friendly server informed us that every night Gallagher’s has a special, and every Sunday happens to be Irish night(aka 25% off all Irish dishes on the menu). Scooooore. Triple play combo: the Irish spring rolls(red and green cabbage, carrots, onions, corned beef and spices rolled up, fried & served with a homemade stout dipping sauce), shepherd’s pie and Irish stew. So very delish. Would definitely make a stop here again on the next journey to the Windy City.
