One of the most amazing dining experiences of my life was just spent at Bistro 217. The food here and the service are beyond reproach and though it is expensive it is worth every penny. I began my meal with a martini — I can’t remember the exact name but it contained Bailey’s and the name memorably included the word«Ass» for some reason — and it was so good I had to have three of them! Then I had their house salad, sans croutons. Have I mentioned yet that they include gluten free options on the menu? Yet they are also happy to alter regular menu items, such as leaving off the croutons from my salad. For the main course I had scallops over risotto and they couldn’t have been more delicious. I finished it off with chocolate mousse. You know that scene in When Harry Met Sally with Meg Ryan in the restaurant? That was me, eating the mousse. I’ll have what she’s having. The service here is impeccable. Our server, Melissa, was friendly and attentive all night. Even before she arrived at the table, we had people popping up every few minutes to tell us someone would be right along — it was about ten minutes from when we were seated to when we had our drink orders taken and I swear four different people apologized for the wait in that time. At one point the manager, Shawn, showed up at our table and we had a wonderful conversation. I have never been at a restaurant with friendlier service overall. They really do care here. Overall I can’t believe it has taken us so long to stumble onto Bistro 217. We have been coming to Pawleys since ’88 and Shawn told us it opened in ’04. I think we have found a new beach tradition.

We had a party of 8 and needed a last minute reservation. We ended up sitting outside which is covered and has fans. I enjoyed the veal. I also had the tomato soup with jalapeño which was very good because it had the jalapeño flavor without being overly spicy.

Tasteless calamari. She crab soup that tasted like cream and sherry. Arugula drenched in dressing… out of eight different plates ordered by our table of six not one was enjoyable. Service is great, food is not. Go somewhere else!

My wife and I took our 25 year old granddaughter to lunch at this fabulous Bistro, two of the last three days. One of the best places we have been to for a meal. From the fish tacos and salads to the great sandwiches, this topped the mark. My favorite was the Reuben. Outstanding corned beef. Great atmosphere, especially dining outside in the courtyard. Service was great and a special thanks to our waitress Linda.

Wonderful in every way, tomato crab soup was special and yummy. Scallop salad unusual and delicious, only possible issue was food was very rich and I ate too much of it because I didn’t want to stop eating.

This place has amazing food! And the bartender, Bruce, was awesome! I ordered one of their lunch specials… Lightly encrusted grouper which sat on a bed of cooled veggies with a light balsamic vinaigrette. So good! Their lunch grouper comes with this lobster sauce which I ordered to go with my lunch special. Ya gotta try this! Definitely going back. And I also need to try their sister restaurant… Rustic Table

We went here for lunch today. The staff is very friendly, loved the atmosphere, and the food was excellent! We are definitely interested in coming back for dinner. I had the Reuben, my husband had the braised beef and Brie gnocchi. Both were wonderful.

This is our second time to Bistro 217. Service was wonderful and food was delicious. We even stopped eating midway through our dinner, so we would have room for the berry cobbler with homemade ice cream. Wise decision and we have another wonderful meal for the next day!

We went with a party of 15 — they were so accommodating. We thought for certain it woukd take forever to get our food but they were very quick and the service was amazing. I had the Scallops over Risotto — I just have to say one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time — the taste was amazing. Highly recommend this place. Will come back again when we are in town.

One of the best dinning experiences ever. All the staff, especially R our server were great. Oyster Tasting, only wish there were more than 2 types this evening, what we had cool, briney freshness, the cucumber wasabi was a great change. I could write an essay on the Seafood Eggplant Treasure Chest, you must try it. I enjoyed the fried Eggplant«bowl» as much as the seafood medley that smothered it — shrimp, scallops, crab and grouper all super fesh and delicious. 10 different homemade ice creams to choose from. We had salted caramel and key lime pie… excellent end to a 10 star dinner.

Great stop for our last night of vacation. The trigger fish special and grouper were fantastic as well as the tuna special appetizer. We had the brownie with homemade sea salt caramel ice cream for dessert. Service was great. My only complaint is that my son’s ice cream came out partially melted. So glad we came back to Pawley’s Island for a nice dinner on our last night.

Tasty food hood service reasonable price. I sat outside under the«tent» and was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and bugs. They have fans but they just help cool the air a little or blow around warm air… one and done not worth returning.

It was good. But not so outstanding. I was excited to come after I’ve read reviews here, but maybe my expectation was too much. I ordered cheese grits and shrimp, the day’s specials. It was good but a bit salty. The waitress at our table was not friendly with no smile. I just didn’t see why people love this place so much. It was a regular bistro.

This place is truly a treasure! My husband and my 6 year old son came here while on vacation. My son is not very adventurous with food but the staff was very accommodating. We ordered the stuffed eggplant as an appetizer… it was so fresh the flavor was amazing. I ordered the chicken Marsala and my husband ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi. For desert we ordered cannoli’s. EVERYTHINGWASAMAZINGLY and FRESH! We loved this place!!!

Ordered Duck a l’orange: «Swiss char duck breast, duck confit, candied sweet potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts» — a duck BREAST dish but what I got was a THIGH. No breast I’ve ever seen has two jointed bones in the middle. It was delicious but Whatever.
