Stopped there for some goodies. This was about 12 noon. Very nice selection, nice people, clean bakery. The pastries that I bought could have been a little fresher, but good. They were not from that day, or they were from very very early that day, but good. I think the trick here is to go when they open and see what just came out. Worth the stop. Frank G

Came here to pick up a quick breakfast. We ordered a couple of the crescent sandwiches and a couple of the cinnamon rolls. Both were decent and kept on the way home. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way for but is a solid option when in the area. Coffee seemed a little overpriced if you are taking to go and aren’t going to be able to get a refill(not even sure if they give these…) Local place, do appreciate supporting local businesses!

I often call in a breakfast sandwich on a croissant on my way into work. Everyone is so nice & polite first thing in the morning! My order is always correct. Everything I’ve ever ordered has been outstanding! What a gem to have in Pawleys Island! You won’t be disappointed with anything you order!

Cute little bakery tucked away in a shopping center. They had so many options and everything looked yummy! Prices are fair for what they are offering you. There is a coffee/tea bar, I wish they had espresso options but that doesn’t affect my rating at all. They could use a little more curb appeal, the sign is white with plain black lettering showing the name of the shop. We will definitely be back before our stay is over!

Me and my family went to Pawleys Island Bakery for lunch. We decided to not eat there because the owner was very rude and had his dirty notepad on the counter in the back where they prepare food and also they do not wear any gloves. If you care about cleanliness don’t eat there!

We ordered cupcakes for a beach wedding and Max took our order just as seriously as if it had been a huge wedding cake. The customer service of Max and all of his staff is outstanding! The cupcakes tasted amazing. A tip for the frugal… day old goodies can be purchased for just $ 1.50 for a big bag. Highly recommend! We made 4 trips to the shop during our vacation.

This would be a clear 5 stars except for the macaroni salad. Chicken salad on a fresh croissant was perfect! Lettuce was real lettuce, not the iceberg crap served elsewhere. My friend got the breakfast sandwich on ciabatta and it looked great! Their macaroni salad ranks among the worst ever. Liquidy insipid dressing into which the macaroni had been introduced. I will absolutely go back but now know what not to order. Staff were outstandingly courteous.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but try it anyway! The inside is so cute. The staff were also friendly. We ended up getting an assortment of cookies and bars, and they were all delicious!

Love their breakfast sandwiches! The egg & cheese on a croissant is awesome! Their croissants are super fresh. The bagels are great too! They also have a coffee and tea bar. For the price, it’s the best in Pawleys for a quick, yummy and cheap breakfast! We haven’t had any of the pastries, cookies or cakes, but they look great!

I grew up in NJ&NY, homes of some of the best bakeries. I was pleasantly surprised to find Pawleys Island Bakery when we moved here last summer. The coffee cake is fantastic with lots of moist crumbs. The custom football helmet birthday cake they made for my son looked fantastic and tasted just as great. The cake is moist and flavorful. My very favorite menu item is the Taylor ham, egg & cheese sandwich on a hard roll, a NJ delicacy. Thank you Max & staff for filling my tummy with tasty treats and for always being so friendly and welcoming.

Stopped here again on our way to the Hobcaw Barony. Breakfast egg sandwich still excellent. Pastry great and the jelly doughnuts are the best I’ve had(they were sold out when we were here last year).

The ugly sign caught my eye. «BAKERY» in all caps but something in my heart(or sweet tooth) told me to check it out. I stepped into the small shop and felt welcome as everyone was smiling, employees and customers. It has a nice comfy feeling with coffee urn and tea bar on your right. In front extending down the left is a huge case of all the bakery items you could dream of. Cookies, cupcakes, cakes, breads, pastries, and more. The adorable«cookie monsters» caught my eye… 2 cookies glued together with creamy icing. I purchased a huge red velvet cupcake after asking the sweet teen helping me what she prefers of the cupcakes. For only $ 2.00 I was happy! I picked up a chocolate coconut macaron for 60 cents too. The macaron was delicious. Perfectly sweet and the dark chocolate was dipped halfway. The red velvet cupcake was really big, with cream cheese icing! I’ll definitely be back to try their sandwiches and other pastries. The seating inside is limited but quite nice for an afternoon meal and treat. The walls showcase local artists you can purchase their photography.

This place is a worthy stop for lunch while in Pawley’s Island. I got the Texas Beef Brisket. The beef is delicious, and the jus that comes with it is good as well. The bread is tasty, though it was a bit saturated from the juicy beef. Sure, I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack after eating it, but it’s worth it. The drinks are all bottled, which is unfortunate, but they had some bottled organic tea(Honest Tea), which was okay. I’d definitely recommend this place.

I definitely didn’t think it was amazing but it was pretty good. I stopped in for some treats right before closing and grabbed a few yummy after dinner treats. The chocolate raspberry bar, a white chocolate macadamia nut one and a cranberry white chocolate cookie. I would go back for a treat when in town.

Stopped by a couple of times while staying at Pawleys with wife and friends… was nice to have someplace like this to offer items outside of what is available at Food Lion and P.W. We tried the croissants, italian bread, the scones, and the walnut wedding cookies. The croissants were ok, the cranberry almond scone was very good, and the cookies were excellent. Our friends tried a couple of their cookies and said that they were only decent, but overall the baked goods seemed to be pretty quality. The bread was very good, with a somewhat crispy exterior and light/fluffy interior — nice with the pasta we made that night with our friends. Also tried a hummus wrap as we were looking for something a bit more healthy than fried shrimp, she crab soup, and other heavy/rich items available in that area. It was good and a welcome change on a whole wheat tortilla with sprouts, tomato, avocado, and cheese. They offer a wide variety of baked goods including cakes. Would definitely return next time we were in the area.

It is about time there was a bakery like this at the beach. This place is the stuff that dreams are made of. Located just past the Hammock and Island Shops in Pawleys Island. If you are within a 30 mile radius of this place, you have to try it. I went in on a Sunday morning and bought a whole delicious sampling. 1. Croissants– I say it in my profile. I LOVE a GOOD Croissant. These were buttery, flaky, light, just perfect. 2. Cinnamon Roll– buttery and flaky pastry dough, and then sweet and cinnamony on the inside with that yummy icing drizzled on top. 3. Chocolate Croissant– So good. So good. See description for Croissant. Add Chocolate. 4. Cookies– I picked up a chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia, white chocolate cherry. All of them were good. 5. Cheddar biscuit– Homemade style, except so much larger! The chunks of cheese in it were so perfect. They did not overwhelm the taste of the biscuit, but were rather a perfect compliment. 6.Lemon square– this was the only thing I did not love. It was good, but I am not sure if it was the crust or if it was the filling that I did not love. 7. Marble Sponge Mousse Cake– To die for. Amazing. The cake was so incredible and moist, and the mousse fillings were heavenly. The chocolate ganache on top was a crowning jewel. I know I will get this every time I go back. 8. Cinnamon Roll with Carmel pecan topping– I bought this one for my parents, and they seemed to enjoy it. It did not last very long at all. Not only did they have all of the goodies that I sampled, but they also had bagels, cakes, pies, cupcakes, assorted breakfast pastries, muffins, artisan breads, etc. I cannot wait to go back and try more. Can I express how good everything was? I bought all of that on Sunday Morning around 7:30AM. It was all gone by Monday at 6:30AM. The staff at the bakery were very friendly and helpful. They have a few small tables inside so that you can eat in if you choose. They also do lunch, just sandwiches and salads– but if it is served on those homemade breads and tastes half as good as the stuff I bought, I bet they are out of this world.
