Food sucks, way over priced. The staff is rude & they think nothing of wiping their hands on their sweaty face & then handling food. Absolutely disgusting

Love going to this place for lunch, dinner anytime. The food is excellent and they treat everyone here like family. My go to dishes are obviously the pizza, wings, chicken parmesan, sausage and peppers, baked ziti, spaghetti with clams, the list goes on. The best part is there are gluten free options. This is the spot to go to for some home cooked Italian meal.

First a bit of pizza information. The raw ingredients to make an 8 slice pie today costs about $ 6.00, add in the cost of making the dough, having to refrigerate it for 48 hours, the salary of the pizza man(here it looks like the owner is making the pies), lights, rent, etc you’re up to about $ 8.00 a pie. I bought 3 pies for a total of $ 40.50; you do the math on their profit. I asked for paper plates, crushed pepper, garlic powder and grated cheese. The old lady said how many people, she wanted to know how many paper plates to give, I said 10, you’d think she was going to have a heart attack… TEN ! ! You saying 10 people, yes, that’s what I said. She gave me 3 tiny plastic containers the crushed pepper was about 1tsp, the garlic ½ tsp and the grated cheese 1 tsp. I asked for more grated cheese and she shrieked; «You know how expensive the cheese is?!» REALLY?! Look at the profit you just made on 3 pies. Typical old school Bronx, cheap as dirt. She begrudgingly gave me a little more grated cheese. They didn’t take Amex and the old man went into a story about how much money Amex makes, MILLIONS ! MILLIONS he said, Crying about someone or some other entity making money other than him, also typical old school Bronx_________, You fill in the blank. Shesh, I just wanted 3 pies and some grated cheese, not your cry baby song about your resentment of others successes. Now to the pizza, mediocre at best, I saw him scrapping the bottom of the cheese container when he made the pies, not too appetizing. They were cooked the way I wanted, but hey way too much [Mama] drama for pizza. I won’t be back.

Best pizza ever! We love mamas pizza. My favorite is the eggplant rollatini dinner special.

Can’t go wrong when you order their eggplant. Wether it be an eggplant wedge, rollatini or just some on a slice. it’s always amazing

This was the worst Pizza I have ever had made from a Pizzeria. I would say frozen Pizza is worse but I have had some decent ones. I have eaten here twice and regretted it both times. Once I stopped in while I was doing my laundry next door. Had a slice and the crust was mushy and cheese was terrible. Gave it one more shot thinking maybe they had a bad day wrong. Stay away!

Crisp, delicious crust, a tangy sauce, and a wide breadth of topping options make this a fine meal. The burgers are big, with great toppings and cooked perfectly to request. Topping it off, the staff is insanely friendly every time we go. We’ve stopped in after several hikes in the area, and Mike and his family have remembered us, and treated us extremely well every time. We’ll be familiar faces around these parts.

I gave 1 star bc i had too. Id give it negative stars… The worst pizza ever. If your in the area go anywhere but here. Sauce has no flavor, dough was not fully cooked. I ordered two slices to go and they put them on one paper plate and stuffed it in a paper bag. The pizza got smushed.

Substandard pizza at best. Gaudino’s is better. I think the only reason they stay in business is because they are considered the local, «family», school-friendly pizzeria. Serious pizza lovers would not eat here.

Was adding a few reviews for local places that I’ve patronized lately and saw Mama’s sitting on the list with a measly two stars. I couldn’t figure out why but then noticed that there are three apparently legitimate reviews that have been filtered out. I call baloney. I like Mama’s and eat there all the time. I’ll be the first to admit that their REGULAR slice isn’t the OMGAWESOMEST pizza ever but their specialty pizza is very good and all their food overall is excellent. The regular pizza slices have decent sized crust with crispy base and good end for gripping. The sauce I find slightly on the sweet side so kids probably like it. I personally toss on some garlic for extra oomph which is probably why I like the specialty slices — maybe the plain slices are too plain. The cheese is good and fresh — not plasticy like some places. The crust I do wish had a different taste to it, but the consistency is right on. The sandwiches are good and I like the fact that they make their calzones fresh to order — other places seem to like making them in advance and cutting them open to stuff and reheat. Dinners are always good. Prices are reasonable and that staff always friendly. If you eat in the dining room they bring your food to you but don’t officially have wait service so tipping is optional. The tables and floors could use a little refreshing but the place is clean and lively. The walls were decorated with artwork from local elementary school students and they host local kids from the preschools and for make-your-own parties. They feature locally sourced ice cream from a New York Dairy and have fresh made cookies and cannolis. Also, they have REAL italian ice, not that crap prepackaged in a paper cup that comes with a cheesy wooden spoon. I’m sorry, but you’re not a real pizzeria unless you have italian ice. I stopped in another place nearby and asked if they had any and they didn’t. :( Mike and crew are locals and I continue to support them and they feed us well. Food is prepared quickly and is consistently good to very good. A little updating of the dining room to go along with the recent façade repairs might be a good thing. Pizza spots seem to be a dime a dozen in New York, but Mama’s keeps me coming«home».

Went and had a large pepperoni pizza half w/garlic. It was awesome! I love how he put a lot of sauce on it. Most places skimp on sauce. I would have liked it if the crust was more crunchy however, it was a very good pie and I will be returning. The guy was nice and his son was working on the oven. I told them I just moved form TN and we had a nice conversation. Great staff and good food. It’s a must try if your in the area.
