Visited the Tavern two weeks ago with a friend before kicking off a conference at a hotel nearby. The bar space is large with pool tables and plenty of TVs, so as a place to hang out(or dance on a weekend), I’m guessing PTC doesn’t have too many spots like this. We tried the steak bites, the pepperjack mac and cheese bites, and the southwest chimi rolls. I’d get all three again… and the prices for a city-dweller from the north are pretty sweet. Really smoky inside, so if you are not a smoker, prepare for culture shock when your clothes are standing up in the corner of your bedroom coughing when you wake up the next morning. Seriously, I thought about burning the t-shirt and jeans I wore that night, so hilariously smoky! This would be at least a four-star review if it wasn’t for the level of smoke I came out with from this place.

:(I used to really like this place, but the thuggy atmosphere at times & on certain days is mind boggling. For such a family oriented town, I’m not sure where this young attitude of wanting to fight is coming from. The food is great. The service is very slow unless you know the waitress. The gangster like smokey bar is no longer on my list to visit.

The regulars and staff will make you feel instantly at home. Chef Kilroy takes care of business. Prices are fair. Karaōke and trivia nights are well-managed. Kudos to bartenders Whitney and Ashley, total pros.

We come here every Monday for trivia and 50 cent wings!!! Probably some of the best wings I’ve ever eaten. It’s a bit smokey, but it’s a bar, what do you expect? The shining star of this place was our server, Lauren. She’s amazing, and we couldn’t ask for a better server! The trivia guy, Matt, was excellent too. I’d definitely recommend this place!

This place should be called Smokey’s Tavern on 74… As we walked in smoke rushed out of the door. I am not a smoker but my Boo is so I stayed because this was HIS pick! We came in and rushed over the side of the restaurant that was empty because I didn’t want the smoke to set my Asthma off. Then about 20 minutes later we were surrounded by smoke because a group of guys playing some game. They came over and not only brought their smoke but also their profanity riddle conversations. We quickly finished our meals and got out of there for some fresh air! So that brief version of my horror story plus a few other things makes me give this place a 1.5 Star. The waitress was nice and although they still put the Sour Cream on my nachos that I did not want, she was alright with me. Nice and friendly. She took our orders with no pen nor paper, That’s always a plus! But I did not care for the fact that the staff never tried to control the yelling and cursing from the 2 – 4 guys so that’s a negative for me. They were out of two menu items that I wanted so that’s a negative as well. The food overall was okay. I liked the Eggroll things but they were too sweet. The wings were GREAT! The Nachos were good, but I couldn’t get past that pile of Sour Cream that I had to pull off of it as it smeared down most of the nachos leaving me with a visual of white creamy nasty-ness! :) They would have gotten a 3 Star, but even though the restroom was clean and pretty, this overall experience for me was too bad for me to give 3 Stars. So 1.5 Stars it is Smokey!

Not a bad spot to hang out and watch the game. If you are looking for a simple, bare-bones sports bar then you have found the right place. The wings are good, the staff is nice, and the prices are very reasonable. The only drawback is the secondhand smoke. Smoking is allowed in this establishment.

Taco Tuesday! That’s all I have to say. Want an absolutely delicious dinner on a Tuesday night? Head to Tavern. You just have to get past the smoking. But I smoke, so… I give it 4 stars.

As a straight edge guy, I eschew restaurants with the words«bar,» «tavern,» and/or «cantina» in their name. If the business’s emphasis is on alcohol rather than food, then it’s not catering to my sensibility. Likewise, a smoke-filled atmosphere is contrary to my precepts. But I elected to be a team player and join some estranged friends for a couple of trivia night outings at Tavern on 74. Tavern on 74 has most of the trappings that you’d expect from a bar: a couple of billiards tables, plenty of TVs fixed on sports channels, trivia and karaōke nights, ATM, and nightly food/drink specials. Both of my visits were on Mondays, which are trivia nights featuring 35 cent wing specials and a beer special that doesn’t concern me. I’ve eaten the steak taco, mahi mahi taco, chips & salsa, hamburger, fries, and tater tots. Most of those are unremarkable, the tater tots being the shining exception. Many Unilocalers will try to convince you that The Vortex serves the best tater tots in the Atlanta area, but the tater tots at The Vortex are mediocre. However, the tater tots at Tavern on 74 are FREAKIN’ DELICIOUS! I can envision myself eating 2 plates of their tater tots and nothing else. They’re that good. The service at Tavern on 74 is either extremely inconsistent or I was overlooked because I’m not a regular patron. I expect waitresses to be nice to me, the customer, but I never got the impression that my server was being kind to me; e.g., I had to say«thank you» twice before she acknowledged me, as she ignored me after my initial utterance. Furthermore, my server would have received a better tip from me if she wore a Braves shirt rather than a Phillies shirt. Just sayin.’ To be fair, I’d be remiss if I did not mention that the rest of my dinner party were all regulars, they knew the trivia emcee and waitress by name, and they seemingly received better service than I did. And though our table didn’t win the trivia contest, we were all treated to a free round of shots because of how frequently and consistently my estranged friends convene at Tavern on 74. Again, I don’t drink, so mine went to someone else. Finally, be mindful that parking is surprisingly limited considering how far«outside the perimeter» this place is. Also, know that the clientele fall somewhere between redneck and suburbia, and though there is nothing wrong with that, I would rather have seen more barflies in my own age range.

I’ve hung out here a few times. Last Tuesday night was deal-breaker. My group of 11 arrived onesy-twosy, not a big deal since the place is laid back. The service was awful. Once a person arrived they would have to wait about 20 – 30 minutes before a waitress made there way over. Then the waitress would take one order and go back. It was that way all night. One order and wonder away. Apparently if you’re a regularly they would hang out and have a 15 minute conversation while ignoring everyone else. If you wanted a drink you would have to go to the bar and order it. Apparently the bartender couldn’t leave the bar but it was cool if she leaned against it and shot the shit with patrons. Usually it’s just average. Dark bar which allows smoking inside. A minus in a town where its against the law to smoke within 50 feet of a building. Kitchen doesn’t open til 5.

So Peachtree City is about a 45 – 55 minute drive from where I live, and yet I’ve ventured out that way numerous times for the tacos at Tavern 74. They are outstanding. 2 $ tacos every Tuesday(though I remember when they used to be 1.75 $ not too long ago), that come with chips and a nice, spicy salsa. These aren’t the classic Spanish tacos, but some kind of American conglomeration of cheese and meat and pico that is surprisingly delicious. I’m pretty sure it’s the awesome cheese sauce they use that makes them so good. Why else would I drive almost an hour just for tacos? I would do it every Tuesday if I could, but working and going to school doesn’t always permit that. I think they have chicken, steak, shrimp, and a mahi mahi tacos. I’ve eaten all of them but the shrimp, and find the steak to be the best one. This is a great little place to hang out with friends, though from what I’ve seen, a lot of older people are here a lot. This doesn’t bother us, as we come to hang out with each other, and not to party with a bunch of college kids. We sit, eat our tacos, drink some 3 $ Margaritas, sing some karaōke, play some pool, watch some TV. We get here around 7 or 8, and stay until close, and I always have a great time. It’s a very clean location, and the waiters are pretty attentive to everyone there. The Margaritas generally pack a pretty good punch, and we’ve never had any issues with wrong food orders, or running out of water for too long.

Where everybody knows your name… Great place to chill, play some pool and have a snack and a drink(or three). It’s also probably the only place left on the planet where you can actually smoke a cigarette. Parking can be a pain in the neck, but the fact that they have cabs waiting outside for those who cannot(and should not drive) is pretty awesome.

Pretty standard bar. Drink and food prices are fair. Deals and events every day of the week. Bathrooms are kept as clean as one could hope for a bar. You can smoke inside pretty much a deal breaker for me and the reason for my 2 stars.

Hats off to the Tavern for reaching out and helping one of their own in the community. A local Peachtree City man, and one of their patrons, had a horrible freak accident that left him a paraplegic. As is the case with many of us that work the regular hourly wage jobs, he had no insurance. The Tavern stepped up and did a fund raiser for him. Door cover charge, piece of the bar and food, all went to a fund for him to help pay for the equipment and therapy he will need to live a productive life. The fundraiser was over the course of the whole weekend. Bands played throughout the afternoon and evening. Way to go Tavern.

This is a great place to hang out. The wings are the best in town, the apps are all great and you have to try the Mahi Burrito… wonderful. I recommend this place to everyone. The staff is very nice, the management is very professional and the place is clean. Its a little smokey but the fun is well worth it.

This place reminds me of Sidebar in Downtown Atlanta except not quite as big and this sort of has more of a standing lounge feel than a bar feel. I am not sure why, but it sort of gives me the same vibe — smoky, friendly, pool tables, and jovial staff that are inviting to give you a drink. Most of my friends a few years of college in the area go to the Tavern because it is one of the few places in Peachtree City open after 10 pm. It is slightly awkward if you do not want a drink, but at least there is foosball, pool, and karaōke listening. Overall, friendly environment, and most of the time, it is loud but you are able to small talk with the people around you. I have heard some exchanging phone numbers too.
