I heard about this place on the Bert Show, and they set the bar high. I mean, I haven’t been able to find a good Cuban sammich across this great land in nigh 7 years, much less a great one. Tortugas does it right, though. This was the best Cuban I’ve ever eaten. Definitely worth going outside the perimeter for. They even let me substitute sweet plantains for fries. Outstanding place!

Delicious Cuban food at an affordable price! Varied menu, kid friendly, great service. We had the Cubano, empanadas, sampler appetizer plate, and someone had some sort of tasty shredded beef. They’re also having live music on Friday or Saturday. Highly recommend!

I never write restaurant reviews, but my experience at Tortugas was so good, I had to give them a shout out. Food: Sooooo good and sooo yummy! I hate to sound vague, but everything we ordered, we liked! From appetizer to dessert, we sent the plates back clean. If I tried to tell you everything I liked about every dish, I’d run out of words. Also, I myself am not from the Caribbean, but my mother and aunt are from Puerto Rico and they can vouch for the authenticity of the food. Service: The serving staff was wonderful. Since we came during a lull, we were the only ones in the restaurant. I had my one-year-old daughter and my seven-week-old son and the wait staff volunteered to play with them, so we could eat! And they were so personable, friendly, and easy to talk to! Even though I loved the fact the wait staff watched my kids, my sincerest hope is that next time I go in, they’ll be too busy to play with them because of the place will be packed with happy patrons.

Group of had dinner and drinks here last night. It was GREAT. The service was wonderful. The food was some of, if not the best any of us have had in sometime. Finding authentic Cuban in the suburbs isn’t always easy. I would highly recommend it. The location is not the best area. The strip mall was pretty empty so parking isn’t an issue don’t assume anything by the area. The atmosphere and food is well worth it!!!

I eat here as many times a week as I can. The staff are friendly and even remember my favorite dishes. The food is delicious, varied, and reasonably priced. I haven’t been to Cuba but I feel like I am eating there every time I go.

This place was truly excellent I rarely give 5 stars. I had the Lechon(something) which is the pork lunch special with rice, beans, and plantains. Everything was absolutely delicious and our server brought us some special house hot sauce that was really good too. I got the tostones but next time will try the sweet plantains! We had a big group of 9 people and everyone liked their food. Lunch specials are very decently prices at $ 10, and the server was able to effectively split our check 9 ways. She was very good. Definitely give this place a try!

Don’t judge a place by its location. Yes, this massive complex is empty and might give you second thoughts, but the inside had a nice atmosphere, pleasant employees, good food, and pretty good prices. The gal pal treated me to an early bday dinner. Eh. Birthdays… The palomilla steak was delish. I choose the black beans, yellow rice, and savory plantains with the steak. It came out thinly sliced and well seasoned. I like the cut of the meat, but it’s a way of skimping out on the proportion. It was good nonetheless. There was a special on the mojito: 2 for $ 10. She chose the pineapple while I chose the mango. I have to say I enjoyed hers more. Both were tasty though. My friend gobbled her chicken entrée in a heartbeat. Her rice and beans had a sweet taste, and I would say it’s healthier than my yellow rice. The inside was spacious and looked nice(and the complex doesn’t do this place justice). Our waitress was delightful and pleasant. She was cordial, knowledgeable, and warm.

I’m thrilled to see another good Cuban restaurant pop up in my neck of the woods. I really like their Cuban sandwich. The ropa vieja is also good. Black beans and rice and sweet plantains are pretty good, too. The also have some non-Cuban dishes on the menu. Lunch is affordable and I’m always happy with the food. The lunch crowd is pretty sparse during the week(for now) so you know you will be seated quickly which is not always the case around here. Give it a try and I think you will be glad you did.

GREATFOODANDSERVICE! My daughter absolutely loves Empanadas but I wanted to find a location that was closer to her residence where she could enjoy this Cuban favorite. Enter Tortugas. I had come across the recent reviews for this restaurant and thought that it would be a great option for lunch. We entered around 11:30 am and were quickly seated by the hostess. The restaurant is very casual but has tables, bench seating and of course you may always sit at the bar. Our waitress was Monica and she delivered flawless service. We started with the rather generous Tortuga sampler platter which was the perfect starter. Everything on the platter was interesting and delicious, well seasoned without being overdone or greasy. The Empanadas were the best we have tasted and were the star of the show. My husband, daughter and son-in-law ordered Cuban sandwiches while I ordered the Steak Palomilla which came with yellow rice, black beans and plantains. I am not a «restaurant sandwich eater» but I did try a bite of my husband’s Cubano. It was a bit salty for our taste but to be expected because it contained ham. Never the less, everyone seemed to enjoy their sandwiches and I can say that the fries,(ordered by my husband), were delicious. They tasted of fresh potato and were nicely seasoned unlike some fries that are so processed that they absolutely lose the taste of the potato. I enjoyed the fact that Tortuga’s food is prepared simply without a bunch of sauces or seasonings. It is very«clean» and very filling. I allowed everyone to sample my sides and still did not finish everything. It was a nice meal but I would probably order protein and grilled veggies during my next visit just to leave room for dessert. Toward the end of our meal, Monica delivered Chocolate cake and ice cream to my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. This was a nice and unexpected surprise. The cake was very decadent and appropriately paired with rich vanilla ice cream. It was delicious! My daughter ordered a Mango margarita which was attractive, refreshing and delicious as well. This was a perfect restaurant for celebrating my daughter’s birthday and enjoying some intimate time together. I would definitely recommend it for couples, families and groups seeking a casual restaurant with great food and service!

This is a nice place, with good service and great food. I stopped in for lunch, and it was a good choice. I had the Pollo Asado, with black beans and yellow rice. The chicken absolutely fell right off the bones, and everything was very well seasoned. While I was eating, I had no less than 3 different people stop at my table and ask if everything was okay, if I needed anything, and to top off my diet coke. The place is nice inside, and hopefully is a popular spot for dinner. I know I would stop back.

I have been here three times since the grand opening. Nicole, Olivia and Victor are GREAT!!! The oxtails, jerk chicken, and chicken sandwich are delicious. They are worthy of your business.

Went to this new restaurant tonight and thought their food was delicious. The Jerk Chicken was the right level of spiciness for our pallets. The Mundo del Mofongo was a choice mix of red and green peppers in a red sauce cooked with tender and tasty shrimp. The mix of plantains and spices was delicious. I’ll have to try the other variations on my next visits. Every chicken dish is tender and juicy. Nicole is a fantastic waitress who told us Latinos love to eat so their portions match that appetite. Check this place out.

The food is amazing! The Mojitos are AWESOME! Nicole the waitress is great and very funny, Victor the bartender makes amazing mojitos and is very friendly. Didn’t meet the cook Vicky who happens to be Nicole’s mom but her food is amazing. Very friendly environment.

Update on my review… the food was just as awesome as before, but now they have a full bar service… had to try the mojitos. OUTSTANDING!!! I even saw them being made… full of fresh mint leaves and limes that were mulled in some sugar… then the rum was quite delicious and not too much soda water to water it down… it was very refreshing! Dinner was great… steak with black beans, rice, and plantains… outstanding. not tough.the black beans were off the chain good… I could taste all the great spices too. . The owners are outstanding! They run a great restaurant. Make sure you introduce yourself to Victor and Hugo(the owners). Now, I’d love to go back into the kitchen and learn how to make some of these dishes. Oh, and they now have live music on Friday nights. it’s a nice touch! GOTOTORTUGA’S!!!

Amazing, wonderful, delicious! Went last night with a big group, had lots of fun and fantastic food! Wanted a margarita, no liqueur yet, but did not even miss it once the appetizers came out. Empanada with cream cheese and guava… I don’t think I have ever had a more deliciously yummy empanada ever! I don’t generally like mangos but tried my friends Mango Milkshake, all I can say is WOW! The Ropa Viejo was awesome as well. The owners were so nice and they treated us like family. It was a really fantastic meal! And to top all that, with appetizer, drink, entrée and desert, it was less than 24 bucks. Truly a great value! Needless to say I will go back often.

The world can never have too much Cuban food. With the opening of Tortugas Cuban Grill, there was merely an expansion to the already impressive stable of Cuban restaurants in the area(Mojitos, D’Cuban Café, Armandos, etc.). I really do love Cuban cuisine… Cuban sandwiches, Ropa Vieja, Picadillo, Empanadas, etc. Of course, just about all of my favorite menu items were available here. We ordered the Empanada trio: one of each… beef, chicken, and guava cream cheese. They were served with cilantro aioli on the side. They tasted pretty standard, though I wished that there would’ve been more filling in each of them. I had never had a guava cream cheese empanada. In a very strange way, they almost reminded me of the crab rangoons that one gets at a Chinese restaurant. I mean, they’re both fried pastry with cream cheese in the middle with something sweet(sweet & sour sauce for Chinese food, guava for Cuban). Interesting. The chicken was perhaps a little less flavorful than other chicken empanadas I have eaten. The beef was done right and was especially good with a bit of that cilantro aioli. The beef empanada was clearly our favorite. I ordered the Media Noche Sandwich. My wife ordered the Ropa Vieja Sandwich. We gave each other half so we can enjoy both. The Media Noche was certainly a satisfying sandwich. Roasted pork, swiss cheese, mustard, ham, and dill pickles. If it sounds like a Cuban Sandwich, you’d be correct. There is, however, one principle difference — the Media Noche uses a sweet egg dough bread rather than crusty Cuban bread. The Ropa Vieja Sandwich was decent too, but was lacking in the complex flavors of the tomato sauce that the shreds of tender beef were stewed in. Quality bread for both! With a little tweaking, these sandwiches can be amazing. Don’t get me wrong, this is definitely a solid lunch spot as it stands. My critiques are minor. The pricing is right for a filling lunch — about $ 10/person. For having been open for a little over a month, I see good things coming from Tortugas Cuban Grill. Perhaps one of their strengths is that they have a clean, remodeled building with which to work. The setting looks like a nice family restaurant. Their menu has just about everything a Cuban restaurant should have. I would like to see Tortugas succeed, there’s a lot of potential here.

Went back Friday night with my husband. I was hoping it wasn’t just a fluke that my first visit was great. We had the lechon asado and the masitas de puerco. The lechon was our hands-down favorite. So moist, tender, flavorful, melt in your mouth delicious. I don’t eat rice or beans, but my husband tore them up. We didn’t love the masitas… they had good flavor, but we prefer tender pork. So happy to have a great Cuban option in Peachtree Corners. We really hope they survive, so please go eat here and give them a chance!

Un lunch fabuloso, baby palomila, frijol rojo, arroz blanco y tostones, muy accesible al bolsillo, se lo recomiendo como una buena opción a tener cuenta, para cualquier ocasión para deleitarse con un buena comida cubana..
