Uncle Buck’s Grill

After my last experience I was contacted buy the management and gave them a second chance. So this time the service was better still could have been a little more attentive. Again there was still just 3 waitstaff I saw. The food was much better. The appetizer was served before the food and it was served warm. The main course was served warm as well. Drinks were filled in a timely manner and the food was good. I still think that the need some more publicity. Maybe the Unilocal representative could get them to sign up for a Unilocal Elite event. This would give them a positive word of mouth. Again I would like to see a larger menu. The gator bites were very good. The Fish tank is a great focal point.

It’s ok if you’re inside Bass Pro and your kids are bugging you about being hungry. But I wouldn’t make any special trips here. It’s standard surf and turf bar food. You can probably guess the entire menu without even looking at it.

Good food. Big portions. Great service. Pleasantly surprised.

Excellent food selection with very reasonably priced items. I recommend the fish and chips it was delicious. Our server Natasha was amazing, some of the best service I have had anywhere in a long time.

Great atmosphere, friendly service, and our food was very good. My husband had a Swiss burger and I had the turkey chipotle wrap, we also had mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. Reasonably priced, we will be back.

Me and my husband ate there for lunch. We both got the tournament burger w/​fries, it was ok at best. The wheat bun was dry, and the burger patty I’m sure was from frozen. The fries were warm versus hot. We had a good waitress and the food came quick enough. It’s ok if your really hungry, but not worth spending $ 30 on.

I came here with the hopes that they offered a nice menu chock full of steaks, seafood, etcetera… Not the case at all. The limited menu consisted of what seemed to me café typed food. Soooo I place my drink order. The first drink that I request was a specialty drink from their menu. Well the bartender informs me that they do not have the ingredients to make it. I make a different choice… top shelf margarita. Bartender tells me that she doesn’t know how to make it, and proceeds to tell me that the manager is going to have to make the thing. So I’m waiting. He doesn’t even know how to make it. He starts looking over a recipe card for it as he makes it. At this point, I’m like GEEZ people. So here I am patiently waiting. When I get the drink it is perfect. As it should be after following the Effen recipe.
On to the food: I ordered some gator bites and and a catfish Poboy. I’m gonna keep this simple. The gator bites were tough and the seasoning was bland. The catfish was undercooked and grimy. The damn Poboy plate had a pickle spear on the plate that was rancid.
The bartender that was working was named Katie. I had a conversation with her in which she explained to me the reasoning behind all of the inconsistencies. Basically, this place, although spacious with decent seating, is not prepared for restaurant business. I mean it’s inside of a Bass Pro shop. The employees, from the servers to the cooks apparently are not trained to do their job. Katie told me that this was the first time that she’s ever worked a bar. The first day even. And that they basically threw her in the position. Is imagine that she will prolly not last long because I am pretty sure that she didn’t even want to work the bar.
In a nutshell: don’t go eat at this location, ever! Prolly should consider not eating at any of their locations.

We were surprised to learn that there was even a restaurant in the Bass Pro Shop, they need to promote it more. And the menu could be easily expanded (only reasons not 5 stars)
Saying that, we had the best Fish and Chips and Cobb Salad! We were very pleasantly surprised at how clean the facility was, the wait staff was attentive, and great the food was. My husband said it was the best fish and chips he has probably ever eaten, and that is a big compliment coming from him!
Would definitely visit again.

Alligator was delicious and portions were fair.

On a trip to Montgomery, AL I stopped for the night in Pearl, MS. I had a AAA Tour Book and decided to try Uncle Buck’s Grill located in the Bass Pro and Outdoor Shop. I had the alligator appetizer along with a side salad for my dinner. The food was good and probably would go back again if I lived in the area.

Ok extremely expensive food.

I would give Uncle Buck’s a lower rating if I could. The restaurant was empty minus one table on a Monday night and our party of 8 took around an hour to get served with most ordering salads. Food was… Below average at best… soggy food with little flavor. The menu is cut down to just a couple of items, seems like they are treading water and don’t anticipate being open much longer. Don’t waste your time, just head on over to SAMs club for a slice of pizza or hotdog.

I was surprised and pleased with what I found inside the outdoor world there, a restaurant with full bar. So I’m glad to put this out to the Unilocal!universe since I’m sure others looking for a good place to stop would enjoy knowing about. The servers were all nice and friendly, food was out quickly, and most importantly, the food was good.
I went with the burger as the baseline meal to see what the place can do and it was great. Just as I ordered and so I would go on and say their other offerings are probably well executed. Would be interested to see other reviews in the future for this spot.
