Hot Topic

I normally don’t shop at Hop Topic and I’m not an animé/​goth kind of person, however I must say that this particular location has great service. We came here to buy a Mine Craft gift for someone and was very pleased with our service. One of the staff members walked us through all the different mine craft products and gave personal preferences and helpful advice. I could really tell that this person enjoyed his job which made our experience great.

I only give this location four stars as it’s so dang small. The staff is *always* happy to have your business and will greet you when you walk in, which is a rarity in retail much less in a clothing store that thrives on rebellion (although corporate approved rebellion) and attitude. The only disaffected youth to be found here are the ones with their parents shadowing them. My teen & tween love stopping by the store regularly and they always have a nice selection of both new items (New Moon & band of the minute swag), best sellers (T shirts) and standard rebellious attire (fingerless gloves, spiky jewelry). What they don’t have, the staff is willing to track down and order it for you. They also have a website that allows you to download music, if that’s your thing. I am personally too old to listen to anything other than 80s darkwave, but apparently Hot Topic keeps track of live events and all the bands that their 12 – 25 year old target audience should be listening to. Sure, it’s fairly cookie cutter but the most savvy weirdos and miscreants know that you have to take some things off the rack and just make them your own. Love, love love this store’s staff and energy, nicely kept store as well. Rock on, Hot Topic.
