Iguanas Ranas Cantina

My friend was coming over to stay the night with me and since she lives on the other side of town, she asked me to recommend a great Mexican Food place for her and I to go. Although I knew of a couple local places, I chose to ‘Yelp’ to see if I could find a place that had good «girl’s night out» atmosphere and a broad selection (a.k.a…a full bar)! I came across Iguanas Ranas Cantina and took a chance on somewhere new due to the rave reviews from others. Well, thank you to the ‘others’! Perfect place, not only for ‘girl’s night’, but I would recommend for first date, family night, large group of friends meeting up… etc. Atmosphere was just right, prices were ‘the norm’, and food was magnificent! Our particular waitress needed a few reminders, but I could tell she was young and new, so I’ll let that go. I would definitely go again and would definitely recommend to others!!!

Mercedes is great! She always gets my order correct and is very nice and friendly! Every time I come and she’s not here my server gets my order wrong, she’s definitely the best
Always get the crispy tacos, charros are delicious! And extra cheese, how hard is it to screw that up?!

Great food, and I would’ve given it 5 stars but so often when we eat here the place smells like heavy bleach, and it can be overwhelming while you’re eating.

Not bad, I had the fajita plate. My brother got the stuffed avocado, which I was impressed with. I really like the guac. They also have free soft serve.

We normally come here and get excellent food and decent service. Tonight it was less than to be desired. However, we had a three way check split and the waiter got it wrong. It was awful. My daughter’s birthday was yesterday and she picked this place. We asked them to sing to her and that never happened either.
Tonight it was a 2 star night, but we have had all around better before — so I compromise with a 3 star.

I came here for the fish tacos. I heard they were good, and being a huge fan of fish tacos, that pulled me in. I was definitely not disappointed. They had great fish tacos. My meal and my friends meals were all great.
If you want a nice quiet place to talk and have a nice dinner, this place is NOT your place. It’s like a Mexican Buffalo Wild Wings! There are TVs everywhere you turn. I don’t mind this at all but just a heads up.
Our waiter was very very new to his job. I obviously have him some slack because I’m not heartless so his confusion and poor service was understandable.
I’ll be back if I’m in Pearland.

Enjoyed the variety of drinks they had to offer and the fact that they were all priced affordably! My food was just ok, and it took quite a while to come out of the kitchen. Would only recommend this place to anyone looking for a good happy hour spot.

It was my first visit but I felt my experience was thorough enough to decide that I would definitely come back. The staff was friendly and attentive, the place was clean, the prices reasonable, and the noise level was very manageable to have easy conversation. I had the lunch tostadas. 3 generously piled high crisp tortillas on my plate plus bean and rice. The charro beans were very flavorful and filled with bacon and veggies. It was truly more of a soup. I tried the refried beans but their flavor, although good, paled in comparison. The chips and salsas were quite good. The red sauce was very mild, the green one had a bit more kick. My lunch companion had the beef quesadillas and seemed to feel that they were a bit too salty. I also noticed that they bake the flour tortillas throughout the day in the small oven in the dining room. Nice touch. Will definitely return.

Food is okay but service is horrible we walked out of there they took long on bringing out our food.

I had the chili relleno refrieds & rice. All very good. We also shared queso and it was ok.
Great restaurant but waaaay too loud! There was a big party of Real Estate ladies that were tipsy & extremely obnoxious. The management should have ask them to quiet down. My family would not let me say anything. Our ears were ringing when we left. Reasonably priced and will definitely go back.

Good service, Logan was a new server but was attentive and efficient!

Awesome first experience!

Tried this place out for the first time last week. Prices are great and the food was fantastic. I tried a margarita sampler and it was delicious. But, by far the best thing about my trip here was the service. Our waitress went above and beyond to make sure my kids were kept happy. They hadn’t napped and were not particularly thrilled with dinner. She kept them entertained and brought them a special drink. She kept a happy face on and was very attentive.

First time. Beef fajitas were good better than gringos but the service was terrible. Guess he didn’t want to be there.
I’m sure we will go ahead but hopefully get a sever that gives a crap. Got fajitas and no tortillas for 5 – 10 minutes while he was talking to female server.
Even if the food is decent bad service can leave a sour taste in your mouth for $ 50 dinner.

We enjoyed the Margaritas: Gold, Patron & Flight. The Flight is a great variety.
Nick’s Plate: Very Good & Beautiful Presentation.
Ella’s Plate: Good Tex Mex & Subbed the Chapula for a Beef Taco (Best, I’ve had in a while)
Poblano Enchilada Plate: very good, nice flavor w/​tender chicken
Fajitas for 1 (Mixed): chicken was cooked perfectly. Beef was dry & overlooked.
Good flavor.
Tortillas are made fresh at the restaurant.
Very good.
Salsas are Excellent! They have a bite that will catch up on you.
Problem Areas:
The Wait Staff need more training.
Waiter on first visit was not very good
Waitress on 2^nd Visit was Outstanding.
Atmosphere is a Mess!

Delicious!!! My boyfriend got the sampler margarita thing (cinco locos) — they were all tasty! My cocktail was also great (blue iguana). The chips with salsa and green sauce were soooo tasty– the green sauce was my favorite. We got the sampler appetizer (mucho poquito), a tropical salad, and the doña mary plate. Everything was amazing. It was fresh, hot, the service was great… All around, this is an excellent place to grab some great Mexican food. Highly recommended!

Despite my initial misgivings about this tex mex sports bar combo, the food actually exceeded all expectations. Everything — from the salsas to the tortillas — is homemade and muy delicioso. Service was fast and friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

I tried this place on Friday evening for the first time an I am making this my go to restaurant for Mexican food in Pearland. The place was fairly full but we only waited two minutes to be seated and the noise levels where were comfortable and not overly loud. Not only is the food at this restaurant VERY reasonably priced but the food is fresher and much tastier than other places I’ve been in Pearland such as Gringos, Lupe Tortilla or Juanitos. This place beats them all.
I had the mango margarita and it was great. It was huge and well priced. The waiters were attentive and fast, the beans and rice where spiced just right, not bland like other places I have been in Pearland. We also tried their Mexican Eggrolls. They where to die for ! I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

So far so good. The green sauce is amazing! It definitely has a kick to it, but boy is it tasty. The salsa is also very good. They mentioned that they make all of their sauces by hand everyday, so it’s never stored in a container over night.
I wish I had been more hungry while I was there, but I was more in a snacking mood. I ordered the layered dip and it was good. Very creamy. I will be back and try more of their entrees.
The only thing I wasn’t too impressed with was the interior. It’s a little empty and boring. Also, the bar area could use some more pizzaz. The draft selection was pretty tiny.

First visit. Very pleased with the quality of the food. Chips and green sauce are great. I found chunks of fresh avocado in the space — nice touch.
The chicken fajitas are moist and tender. Good portions of refried beans and rice to go with the fajitas.
The wait staff was very attentive. We did not experience a long wait for food or any problems with the waitstaff. Perhaps they have gotten most of the kinks out from their opening weeks.
