Kelley’s Country Cookin’

Being a college student, I am always looking for opportunities to help pay for my expenses. A friend reccomended me to apply for Kellys, possibly a higher paying position than my current customer service job.
At first I was rejected «come again later». No eye contact and I felt as if I did something wrong. I came back later with an even more respectable attitude finally being able to speak with the manager. «This way. Move stupid» He gestured me to go to him as if I was incoherent. «What do you want.» After explaining my situation, he refers to himself as an «asshole» and goes so far as to proving it with his band of employees mocking the place where I currently work then laughing and insulting me by the way I look. I turned red out of embarrassment but still continued to fill out an application out of respect. Unfortunately, because of the egoistic attitudes and the potential corrosion of my self-​esteem, I am almost afraid and uncomfortable to come back to this establishment. Which is a shame because I would have loved to add anything to this restaurant.

Kellys is awesome for their food portions and their price is good… the service is alright… if yoi like good old american food then come here… the restrooms are clean… the area is nice.

Breakfast will make u skip lunch. 3 sunny up w crispy bacon ½ hash½ grits biscuit w gravy. Simple fresh ingredients. Fast and friendly staff. Real HASH BROWNS/​GRITS.
DINNER= FRIED FISH w fried okra, ranch salad. carrot raisin salad to go. 3 sides

Picked up to go today. Fish and shrimp dinners for the family. Usually good and plentiful but today was the worst. I think the oil was old as the food tasted off and mushy, didn’t finish. I really wanted to rate one star but maybe today was just one of those days. If we would have ate in, the plates would have gone back. Again, ate here numerous times with good experiences (except for wrong to go orders). I did not contact management as the trip not worth while.

This restaurant gives a lot of food and the food is good and super filling. Most portions are enough to share. The prices are reasonable. It gets crowded so beware. The French toast was very good. I had to ask for powdered sugar. I would go back to this place. I saw a chicken fried steak that took up the entire oval plate. The burgers looked amazing too. Just basically down home country cooking going on here.

This is not gourmet so if that’s what you want do not go here. This is an ihop with bigger portions. Good burgers and good breakfast. Come hungry because the portions are huge.

Always feels dirty, not clean, service is crazy. We do not eat there.

Good food and quick. Large portions for everything. Only complaint is the noise level; everything seems to echo around the building. Otherwise, great place.

First time here and on a Sunday morning. Place was full but we were seated and eating in less than 15 minutes! Biscuits & gravy are a must. Huge biscuit and THE BEST I’ve ever had! Skip the sausage and go for the bacon! Pancakes are huge and tasty!

Friendly staff, very clean. Great home style feel. Love the food. Had the shrimp special for Tuesday. Big fresh tasting shrimp at a reasonable price. Served fast and correct. We recommend this place.

This place is a dump! The waitstaff is as
slow as molasses and the manager Sarah
is a real piece of work. She kisses all of the regulars on the mouth and if you are not a regular customer, don’t expect to
get spoken to. Someone should tell her

to eat until five years back. We say that
we will give them one more chance and keep being disappointed. We will not be
returning!

Went on a Sunday morning and the place was completely chaotic. There was no hostess and costumers were expected to seat themselves. Honestly this made me very uncomfortable people were walking around the restaurant looking for tables and yelling at each other across the restaurant that they’ve found a table (dirty ones at that). What really bothered me was how rude some people were, bumping into other tables without apologizing and some women yelled for her family in my ear. She was literally hovering over are table right next to me. The food was below mediocre. My sibling and fathers food was tasteless and my pancakes were dry and the top came off them just like any crappy ihop. The service was ok. Waitress was nice and bus people? Were nice and attentive, they made sure our drinks were filled. Wouldn’t comeback to this place nor would I recommend it to anyone, it’s way to much of a hassle for crappy food.

We had a very mediocre dining experience at this local fav. Our waitress was sweet but didnt know her menu. We arrived exactly at 9:30 and were informed that there were no longer any specials. It was hard to find a clean table.
We all ordered some version of chicken fried steak. With some fits and starts we finally got all our food. We had to send back our ice tea as it tasted old.
The chicken fried steak was bland. Will not be going back.

Rarely, if ever, am I so disappointed in an experience that I feel the need to post about it, but Mother’s Day at Kelley’s was one of those times.
I watched from my seat as they stacked plate after plate of food on top of one another in the expeditor station. When we asked the waitress not to let our food touch the bottom of another plate she nicely went and told the cooks not to let our food be stacked. As the cook glared at me from the kitchen I watched as they continued to make plate after plate of food and not make any of our order. After 10 minutes the waitress brought one of our 4 plates (2 pancakes) and told us that she was going to have to bring them out one at a time to ensure they were not stacked. 15 minutes for second plate 20 for 3^rd both eggs and bacon. Then after 30 minutes I finally got the Mother’s Day treat i went there for… Eggs benedict on soggy egg muffin.
Finally to top everything off the waitress told the owner about our stacking concerns and how long the food took he said, «Oh my gosh, if they don’t like it then they should eat somewhere else.» So, sadly after 12 years of patronage, we will take his advice and encourage others to do the same.

Absolutely DEE-​licious southern country home cooking! Gotta try their chicken fried steak! Hands down the best EVER! My personal favorite sides so far — Broccoli cheese casserole and the rice with gravy, so simple but sooooooo GOOD!!. Their meat loaf is pretty good too. Be sure to look at their daily specials, such an awesome deal for $ 8.29 to get an entrée with 3 sides… Enjoy —

Good chicken fried steak and seasoned sides. I’ve also gone here for breakfast. Pretty good! The staff is nice.

Hot breakfast at 6am on a Sunday Morning. I get the same thing each time. I order the pancakes which are gigantic, eggs (3), sausage, and hash browns. I end up with enough food for three meals. The price is reasonable and the wait staff is awesome. It is not high quality food, but it gets the job done when you are too lazy or tired to make breakfast at home.

I thought I would go in the afternoon so I wouldn’t catch the lunch or dinner rush. Big mistake. It was changing of the guard, money out from the registers, employees counting tips (while commenting on lousy tippers) I was hoping to get cornbread with my order but was told there wasn’t anymore. After being charged for the bread then refunded, the cashier and what I assumed to be a manager, geez these ladies seemed to be pretty annoyed just me trying to get my order correct. The food made up for the rude service except they replaced a fried shrimp with a fried chicken strip. It’s just disappointing that this isn’t my first experience with bad staff. But I keep going back like a bad relationship.

I wanted breakfast with my wife and decided since I was in the area, I would give this location another try. I’m glad I did. Since they were not busy we had no problem finding a place to sit. The service from our server was fast and friendly. She made sure to keep our coffee cups full and periodically checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. I ordered their «Grand Slam Breakfast» I got a massive chicken fried chicken, three eggs (scrambled with cheese) a biscuit w/​gravy and I opted for grits instead of hash browns. The thing I like about Kelly’s is the portion sizes. This meal was really enough for two and for under $ 12.00, it was a great value. Everything tasted good. The chicken was fried nicely and had a good flavorful crisp to it. the grits were cooked just right and not too runny. The biscuit tasted homemade and the eggs were nice and fluffy. Overall it was a good visit, totally different then my last experience here.
