Molly Donuts

Service is pleasant but food is great! But what I love about it is that it’s less than 5 minutes away from my school (you’ve guessed it, Dawson HS!) so it’s a great location with the convenience for me to get something in the morning.

My family used to go here to grab breakfast on the go but not any more. I have to admit we love their food but after observing how they serve, it totally grossed me out. They used to only have one cash register and recently switched to 2 registers to provide faster service to the customers which I thought was a great idea so there’s not much of a wait. Usually my husband goes in to get the food but the few times that I went in instead, I noticed that the guy behind the counter was handling money with the food prep glove on and then grabbing food for the next customer. First time I saw that, I just kind of let it go. When I saw that happen to my food for the 2^nd time, I just had to say something especially because not only did I see him handle money with those gloves but he dropped some coins and picked it off the floor and gave it to the customer in front of me and then tried to grab food for us without replacing the gloves. I had asked him to put in bacon into a breakfast sandwich and so he had to take it back into the kitchen. Well, he probably didn’t know I was carefully observing him through the open door since his back was to me. When he had prepared the breakfast sandwich and brought it to me, I had asked him, did you change your gloves after the last customer? He acted like he couldn’t understand me. Simply, he couldn’t answer me so I said I want another sandwich made. That’s when the lady came and I mentioned to her what happened. I don’t recall if either of them apologized but she quickly took over our order and was preparing it. I saw the guy go to the other cash register and continue to take orders and grab food with the same glove again. I can’t be the only one who notices them doing this. I told my husband and kids, I know you like the food here and the couple is very nice but I do not ever want to come here again. I would hate to hurt their business with this bad review but they must learn that when it comes to handling food, you must be careful especially when your customer are watching you right there behind the counter. If he doesn’t think that’s being unsanitary, I just wonder if he even washes his hands when handling food after touching anything unclean when he’s preparing all that food with his bare hands back in the kitchen.

This place is fantastic! Everything is very fresh and homemade. The kolache dough is rich and buttery and the breakfast sandwiches are huge! The Chappell Hill sausage kolaches and apple fritters are so yummy! I have to make a confession though: I have never tried a donut there.
It is dangerous bc it is along cullen and I am tempted to stop EVERY day on my way to work. The staff is always friendly and the service is fast. I am always shocked this place isn’t slammed in the AM.
