Driving the dramatic and majestic 17 Mile Drive to Roy’s was a wonderful experience that was further enhanced eating lunch with our family and friends at Roy’s. We had an oceanside view and the food was exactly what it needed to be, savory and scrumptious.

Excellent cuisine, service and views. We were also impressed with the price point considering we were on 17 mile drive.

Reservations were much much easier to make this time and this meal was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Anthony our server was friendly, efficient and accommodating. Best Sushi I have had in the continental USA and all 3 entrees were superb. I’m glad there was 3 of us as it was becoming an impossible task to narrow down which course to go with so needless to say there was some food sampling happening at our table. It’s a pricey meal, but definitely worth it for the food, service and view.

Have been coming to Roy’s for special occasions for at least the last 16 years. Tonight my 60th birthday was the worst. Both my husbands and my birthday and he brought a very special bottle of Cab. The waitress did not know her wine, poured the Cab into pinot glasses, it was an old bottle, had to ask her to decant it. She was not attentive at all. Since we been regulars for 16 years they usually comp either the wine corkage or the desert, they did neither. The desert and sushi were excellent, but the main courses were just so so. We will not be going back.

Went here this past Saturday for a special dinner with my wife. After an enjoyable pre-dinner drink on the patio, I was ready for a nice dinner. The front staff was not courteous like I would expect at a fine restaurant. The restaurant had way too many tables, and we were shoved in a corner table, even after I requested a window view at the time of reservation. Our table was next to a rowdy group of drunk men… and we were so tightly squeezed in the corner that the waitress and busboy could barely squeeze past the other table to serve us. We ordered the Bento box for $ 52, and we were not impressed… the ribs were fatty, the included sushi was pitiful, and the softshell fried crab wad soggy and greasy. Definitely not worth the money… for the food or the experience. The miso soup and firecracker roll sushi were very good however. I have been here once before and enjoyed the experience. I was expecting a top-notch experience for the price, but was not impressed at all. The Inn and patio area itself are beautiful and worth the experience. I would just not waste your money at Roy’s. A very«chainy» feel to this restaurant.

Like some of the other reviews.. no wow factor, except the sunset. The rolls and sushi are something a bit like ur C+ japanese restaurant. Other items on the menu are amazing! Staff kind, friendly, and attentive. Must haves while at Roys is the mud pie…

One of the best meals ever! Ocean view luncheon. What a way to celebrate our anniversary. We had the ribs appetizer and a dish with beef, veggies, peanuts and noodles. The dessert was a passion fruit cheesecake which we wished we could have eaten more of. We highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.

It’s just ok… Look if you’re staying at the Inn, sure go it’s not bad… just no wow factor. Service was excellent. We had lunch and dinner here and have no complaints, but no raves either. Sorry not much more that I can say… Just OK…

Love LOVE this place. The food is delicious. Prices are very high for the portions you get. The crab cakes are ridiculously good. Especially the sauce. We got a corner table looking out to the ocean. The view is gorgeous during sunset. My husband tried the lamb and it was so superb that he almost licked the plate. it is a pricey restaurant, so we only go during special occasions. They even print a special menu for you for birthdays, anniversaries, etc… We will be back

********************* 1509 ********************** I attended Pebble Beach Food & Wine festival every year and always come here. Beautiful view, great wine list, and delicious food by chef Roy Yamaguchi — celebrity chef, James Beard Award winner, and the father of Hawaiian-fusion cuisine. The Hawaiian-fusion theme places fresh seafood front and center. Sushi, sashimi and blackened rare ahi tuna are prepared to perfection. Check our the Spider Volcano Roll — Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Sriracha, Avocado Emulsion, Sunomono and the Yellowtail Firecracker Roll, Spicy Maguro, Avocado, Cucumber, Jalapeño, Habanero Tobiko were delicious. The Ginger Sake Marinated Crispy Calamari and the California Club Sandwich Turkey, Smoked Bacon, Avocado, French Fries were so good. Combine that with a dynamic wine list, check out their KRUG Champagne selection and exceptional desserts and you have one impressive dining experience. The service is always excellent here. Roy’s trendy, casual and energetic setting at The Inn at Spanish Bay features views of the Pacific Ocean and The Links at Spanish Bay as a panoramic backdrop. This view alone is worth a drive.

Desserts review: Passion Fruit Cheesecake Parfait: 4 stars Great balance of pineapple, passion fruit & mango in this dessert. The crumbs of Graham cracker completed this little piece of dessert heaven. Chocolate lava cake: 2.5 stars Not impressed, bland & under baked. This needed much more chocolate flavor to it. The raspberry sorbet tasted better than the cake. This cake needed vanilla bean ice cream on the side to complement the chocolate cake rather than the raspberry sorbet. Complimentary birthday dessert: 4stars This turned out to be surprisingly the best dessert we had for the night. The cake was moist & just the right amount of chocolate too. The coconut sorbet was also yummy & complimented the cake as well.

Chain restaurant filled with angry, white Trump supporters with more money than brains. Prices are anus tearing insulting. Food is rewarmed dreck and drink prices, well, you could buy a bottle for what they want for some of the bourbon. Stay away and keep your dignity.

I visited Roy’s with the family on a trip to Pebble Beach, and I must say I was less than impressed. Not many of the menu items seemed appealing; it seemed like they were trying to create new flavors, but nothing really seemed appetizing. I ended up getting the Pad Thai which had a different flavor with each bite I took. I would stay away from this place. There are much better options around, especially for the money.

This creative chef never disappoints! This time I ordered a plate that didn’t sound as good just to test it and the result was AMAZING! Open-Faced Sashimi Tuna & Dynamite Crab BLT was a piece of heaven! And of course the view at this place is breathtaking.

Food was ‘par’ at best. Presentation of the food leaves something to be desired. The spring rolls/egg rolls tastes burnt. Enjoy them with the sweet and sour sauce they provide; no doubt to cover up the burnt mess they sold you for the $ 15 price tag. You can always judge the quality of place with the good old fashion burger & fries. Needless to say; that was mediocre as well. Just boring. The bacon was burnt – no surprise there and bun was greasy and dense. I’ll enjoy something else when I am near, save your pennies for a true dining experience.

My husband took me to Roy’s for my 30th birthday dinner. He took great care in selecting a restaurant that would properly mark this special occasion and when booking the reservation requested a table which overlooked the pacific ocean during sunset. Unfortunately upon arrival, despite the virtually empty establishment we were seated in the corner of the restaurant with a giant pilar blocking the entire view of the ocean and sunset. My husband, disappointed put in a request to be moved to another table, but the hostess only shifted us to an exact matching table across the room with the same view obstruction. We decided to cut our losses and just enjoy each others company. The food at best was bland. $ 22 for a scallop appetizer which had no sear and needed salt desperately was pretty disappointing. With a name like dynamite seared scallop we received no sear and certainly no ka-pow. Our entrees were equally as upsetting, bland and needing salt. At $ 40+ for filet mignon I was not expecting bland nor was I prepared for a glob of peanut butter to be haphazardly thrown on top. Bottom line, I have never been to a high quality restaurant where I have needed to add seasoning to my food nor have I been treated so disrespectfully. I would recommend keeping you money and venturing over to an establishment which values your patronage. Not recommended.

I’d love to be able to write the entire experience but it’s somewhat indescribable, u have to see it to believe it. We played Spanish bay that day and then returned later for dinner. To say it was exquisite would not be enough. To start, we were celebrating a retirement of one very dear friend. They created a special menu for him with a personalized banner that added a sense of class and consideration. Drinks were served and let me tell you, they don’t short the spirits. They were tasty, ever flowing, and had a wide selection of wine and liquor to suit all types and palates. For appetizers, we had the outrigger canoe, a tantalizing sampler of numerous items from ribs to tuna. It serves 4 perfectly. The winner on that plate were the ribs, so tender and a great sauce that I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing. For dinner, we had a mix of sushi, steak, and their nightly special which was abalone in a truffle risotto with asparagus. I had never had abalone before and while it’s a unique texture, it really hit the spot, glad I enjoyed a local delicacy with what was perfectly cooked and seasoned risotto. To top it all off, at or around dusk, they have a bagpiper play out by the coast. Let me tell you, it’s quite the treat. You’re sitting on the coast, watching a beautiful sunset after a round of golf on on one of the most prestigious and gorgeous courses in America and then this kilt wielding bag pipe player brings it altogether. If u stay or are around pebble beach, do yourself a favor, eat at Roy’s, it’s a special place with great staff and food to die for.

For a truly memorable experience, grab a seat on the outdoor terrace. Relax by one of the warm fire pits with some cocktails & enjoy the relaxing sounds of the famous bagpiper. Every evening during winter he puts the Spanish Bay golf course to sleep in true Scottish tradition, the brief 6pm performance happens on the green of the 18’th hole mere yards from the restaurant. It’s a great prelude to a fine meal at Roy’s in Pebble Beach. By now, the sun has set into the Pacific Ocean & it starts to get a bit chilly. Head inside to the elegant dining room & prepare to be dazzled by the fine cuisine & exceptional service. I’ve eaten here many times over the past decade & have never left disappointed. Some of my favorites are the Grilled Salmon, Blackened Rare Ahi Tuna or the Macadamia Nut Crusted Sea Bass. Everything is always flavorful & fresh. The presentation is truly outstanding. I wish I could give Roy’s more stars!

Five star restaurant in every sense of the word. There is something very wholesome about this place right from the beginning at the hostess stand. There is a general manager looking type of gentleman casually dressed but attentive to all of his surroundings. We were seated by the window. Robert was our waiter and he was outstanding. Very honest and down to earth. He was very seasoned and it showed. He never gave off the money hungry falseness to get a better tip as many wait staff unfortunately do. When a minor mistake was made he apologized immediately and corrected it with class. Speaking of class, all of the bus help were knowledgable and helpful. More so than the masses of bus help. All of the food was exquisitely prepared and presented. For example my wife’s soft shell crab appetizer looked so amazing that I had to share it with her. Prior to that I only had a soft shell crab in Long Island New York once in the 90’s in a sandwich therefore camouflaged by the bread. Back then I only had it to say that I did and to not look like a total nerd in front of our friend who all thought the soft shell crabs were the bomb. Here at Roy’s the soft shell crab appetizer was silky, tender, tasty, delicious. The rest of the appetizers were perfect, the entrees of scallops wrapped in bacon as well as the lobster wrapped scallops were out of this world. The dessert was absolutely delicious — crème brûlée and the coconut ice cream! The two little mistakes were so minuscule compared to the overwhelming wonderful overall experience that Roy’s has to offer. I found out the general manager’s name is Phil Jones. I did not get to meet him face to face to shake his hand and to thank him for the excellent job which he and his team provides to their guests by being in my opinion the absolute best dining experience in Northern California. Kudos to Roy, keep up the standards of excellence with out high levels of stuffiness.
