I have close family in Southold and I had not tried this winery. It was my birthday weekend. So we walked into this winery on a beautiful Saturday and it had a few people there, sitting outside. Staff was mostly hanging out inside, doing nothing. I asked one of them if it was seat yourself and she said in a friendly way, «sure, wherever you want!» So we sat at a picnic table towards the back of the yard where there was another group of 8 or 10 people. We had 11. We were not drunken bachelorettes. We ranged in age from 30 – 68 and mostly couples. The waitress runs out to our table and says, «you can’t sit here, this is reserved». So we asked her where we could go, she said they usually don’t take parties our size without«a reservation». The place was almost EMPTY. We offered to break up into smaller groups and she seemed satisfied with that. I told her we’d probably just get a glass of wine and leave and not do any tastings, and she replied with«I think that would be for the best» in a snotty tone. That was it. We got out of there. Great way to alienate the locals, Sannino’s. The owner actually seemed nice, but unfortunately, we didn’t deal with him. Can’t comment on the wine, since we didn’t even get to try it.

I love their wine flights!!! They give you a sheet of paper with 6 glasses spaces so that you can remember which ones you ordered. Pick 6 out of their menu. Stay at the bar or go outside to the vineyard. They were the friendliest and warmest people in all of North Fork. I enjoyed their riesling and Cabernet Franc the most. Very interesting collection of wine! Definitely pay them a visit if you’re exploring North Fork.

A group of us went wine tasting and literally just stumbled upon this place by accident on the GPS. This place is a gem, the service was amazing and my favorite wines of all the vineyards we visited that day. I recommend visiting this spot. Next time we will be coming earlier to enjoy the a bottle of wine outside.

I fell in love with vineyards this year and plan on making one trip to each one on long island. I’ve read excellent reviews on Sannino’s wines and decided to visit with my family. Definitely love the atmosphere here as it’s unpretentious and relaxing with nice outdoor seating. Service was welcoming and attentive, especially from that sweet little girl serving us. They offer a nice cheese platter with crackers and meat that pairs very well with the wines. For $ 18 for 6 wines, we couldn’t resist tasting the whole menu! Unfortunately, the wine was only decent, but the one sweet rose was good so we left with a bottle of that. Definitely a great location on nice sunny day.

During the tour Anthony was very informative about the wine making process. Also the wine tasting while touring was excellent! Everyone was cordial and friendly. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn a bit about wine and have a great tasting experience at the same time. Enjoy the cheese plater too!

I’ve visited this place a couple of times, once with a large group of people and once with a smaller group and no matter the size, the staff is always extremely friendly and the service they provide is top notch! The first time we did a whole tasting(thanks to Groupon) which was five wines that was paired with chocolate. I do wish I could have remembered more about the first experience with which wines we tried, but I can tell you they were tasty lol. The second time, being more fresh in my mind, was fantastic! We ordered a bottle of wine to side outside with and a cheese platter, all which were brought out to us. The White Merlot, suggested to us by the staff, was sweet with hints of strawberry and peaches, perfect for a summer afternoon. The cheese platter featured theee different cheeses(smoked Gouda, Manchego, and Fontina) some dried meat, olives, and bread sticks. It was the perfect little snack to go along with the wine. The atmosphere outside is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax. There isn’t much room for activites, which is probably why it’s a little bit more quiet and there’s not much of a crowd. This is more of a place to visit in better weather as the inside tasting room doesn’t offer a lot of space.

I’ve been to northfork four times and this is by far my favorite vineyard for the quality and pricing. The dolce and new spiced wine for the fall are my faves. Gotta love it.

The wines are complex. The cab franc is without doubt the best we sampled on the northfork. The Francesco currently there flagship blend is great. The nose as well as the finish is fab. It is drinkable now and will probably will become even better with time. There staff is knowledgeable and without doubt compliment there wines. They are friendly and enclyopedic in terms of there wine making. I would without hesitation recommend there wines. There B&B was relaxing and really quite beautiful. Looking out over the vineyard in the early AM is a treat. The place is special.

The service was the greatest among all the wineries we visited even on a busy Sunday afternoon. And everyone from the tipsy youngsters, well polished grandparents to love birds were all having a great time at the place. You will just fit right in! They came to our table and took orders and the girl who served us was so bubbly and patient. Love the Reds at the place(Cab Franc and Francesco) and the pours were generous. The view was great too. Thank you so much for letting us take two tables and let our boy run around the back yard. Will definitely go back again soon.

It was a dark and stormy night. No wait. Strike that. It was daytime. Afternoon to be more precise. And it was goddam hot and muggy. And what better way to hasten potential heat stroke than to start drinking! We had been on a mission(cue Mission Impossible theme). A mission to find small, unheard of spots that still were champions for good wine and not simplywhoring themselves out to the scads of tourists and city folk looking to come out East to sip wine in a bucolic setting. Well, ya gotta do that to SOME degree but, whatever. This place fit the bill. Small and unassuming, you will blow right by it as you head south on Peconic Lane en route to Greenport Harbor’s tasting room. Since it was Tatooine hot out, we opted to sit inside which didn’t prove to be much better. A lone AC struggled valiantly to cool the area but it’s modest emission of lukewarm air had precious little effect. So I sat in front of it. But I digress. The tasting room itself is a tad cramped. Merchandise hands along one wall reminiscent of someone’s garage sale. A slightly larger room is around the back which, I assume, can be reserved for larger parties. The vibe is re-purposed rustic with exposed beams and electric features. All-in-all, pretty roughly hewn. BUTTHAT’S OK! We’re not Manhattan, folks. We’re not about the glam. This is where you go if you want to taste good wine poured by enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable people. Joe was quite excellent and was able to spout of info about varietals, climate conditions, tasting notes and pairings(which, TBH, could simply be memorized, but there was a genuine enthusiasm in his presentation and demeanor that made it all believable and, magically, TRUE!) Jordan, new to the game, clearly didn’t have Joe’s experience but was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic as well. She did a pretty good job telling us about the wine club and was engaging when Joe was hustling the other end of the bar. The wines themselves were pretty good. Being more of a #craftbeer guy, I feel like I don’t have the experience to be critical of wine but I will say that we were pleasantly surprised by their Riesling. So much so that we took home a bottle. I might avoid the place on a super-hot day but this will be an excellent place to come to in the Fall. I’m a little confused as they seem to somehow be affiliated with Ackerly Pond Vineyards? They also have a Bed and Breakfast which might make for a nice weekend(or mid-week) getaway. Unless you idolize the Jersey Shore cast and come out East to «Be Seen», steer clear of the mega-vineyards and look for places like this. Get in touch with the terroir. Cheers!

The wines were not great. The guy working behind the counter knew very little about wine. Had a hard time pronouncing most of the varietal so he just shorten the names. he didn’t quite understand the difference between fruity wines and sweet wines. to him they are the same which they are not. during my tasting he had to leave to go smoke a cigarette. Also had to tell me about all the weed he grows. I noticed on the wine menu that some of the wines said bronze medal or silver medal but there was no reference to what sort of competition. Typically any prestigious Wine Competition is listed in an obvious place. unfortunate that this place doesn’t have it more together because the location and the décor were really cute which is what drew me in

We stumbled upon this hidden gem in LI wine country. I thought I was a seasoned wine girl. Well I’m not! This vineyard is amazing. Anthony taught us so much in a little time and was so informative and super nice! We felt like family. Even got me back into Merlot. Lol. We joined the wine club and will be back very soon.

My husband and I did the winery tour plus tasting with a cheese plate as part of our wedding anniversary celebration weekend. The tour and tasting were included free of charge as part of our stay at their bed and breakfast. We were originally drawn to Sannino Bella Vita vineyard because of their beautiful bed and breakfast, but figured we’d give the tour and tasting a shot even thought we are not drinkers. Both the tasting and tour exceeded our expectations! It was mid-November, so there were no crowds. As a result, it was a very intimate experience where we got to take our time and ask all the questions we wanted. Anthony(the owner) is very passionate about wine making and as a bonus, is a great story teller. He taught us a lot and made it interesting too. The wines were great, and though we aren’t drinkers, we still bought two bottles to bring home. We highly recommend visiting this vineyard if you’re on the North Fork!

My friends and I visited this winery on Veteran’s Day Weekend where they have a free shuttle going from winery to winery and this is one of the stops. This place is small, but cozy. They also have a live performance there. Everyone there is so nice and their Mango/Guava Sangria is DELICIOUS. I can’t even stress how good it is. It’s very fruity and being the light drinker that I am, this is really really good. Too bad they don’t sell that sangria by the bottle. I would have bought a lot. This only means that I have to go here again and bring a pitcher with me next time. Pricing: $ 7 glass of Sangria and ~$ 32 for the pitcher

I visited this winery on a late Saturday afternoon. Parking was full so we had to park near the church across the winery. Tasting room was very small, didn’t have huge space like other commercial wineries. But it was packed with people. Line of people who wants to pay the wines and people who is waiting for tasting. Staff welcomed us with smile while he was busy with other customers. We sat on the tasting bar for tasting. They offer 2 kinds of tasting, we decided to do reserve tasting. I liked most of wines I tasted, but my favorite was Cabernet franc and spotlight. Cabernet franc had good balance and aroma, spotlight was delicious peppery. Price was a bit pricey but they were delicious. Also they were selling mango guava sangria, we couldn’t resist to taste and ended up finishing glasses of the sangria. All the staffs who works there were enthusiastic with their wine and I felt the passion about wines. They all worked as a team. They were very proactive and very efficient. You cannot easily find those in any wineries, especially in Long Island. I wish I tasted other wines also. But I’m hoping to visit again to learn about this winery and their wines.

My husband and I went out tasting this weekend, and Sannino was by far my favorite stop. It’s a smaller boutique vineyard, which we tend to prefer, with a rustic wood-laden tasting«barn», and some outdoor seating as well. We first stopped by Friday night around happy hour, and they were offering complimentary fondue and baguette. Major points for my cheese-loving heart! All the wines we tried were fantastic, but I especially enjoyed the chardonnay, white merlot, and cab franc. I would consider ordering a few bottles online to be delivered to my apartment. The owner and staff were all very friendly and personable as well. Sannino is a really special winery!

Small winery, not crowded, it gives intimate feel. The staffs are very friendly, personable & knowledge. I had a great time chatting with them. The grape orchards are gorgeous. I walk through rows and rows of vines with a glass if red in hand, very relaxing. They have a good selection of wine from light to full body. Although I am no expert. I just like what I like. Would totally go back.
