Purchased a couple of bags full of delicious items at the first indoor market at the library last weekend. The beef from Archer Farms(I think that is the name) was so tender and flavorful. Even got a great soup tip from the proprietor. The Spelt biscotti – so fresh and delicious, Freshly made cheese– yum.

Close to home and offering a great selection of produce — both organic and not. Meats, breads, pickles, almond milk and more available here every Saturday through Thanksgiving. Parking is free in Peekskill on weekends so come on over!

My favorite part of Saturday mornings! There is always a great variety of venders, and usually live music. I always go for my fix of wonderful French baked goods, delicious artisan cheese, amazing unpasteurized almond milk(with natural ingredients) and amazingly fresh produce from local farms. It’s awesome to know where your food is coming from, and support local businesses!

Your average to above-average farmers market, but that’s a good thing. Nice selection of produce and other local products. Very happy that it’s summer again!

Hmmm, I thought I had reviewed this farmers market already but my new Unilocal friend Dana not only has beaten me to it but has pretty much summed it up perfectly. :))) We went to the PFM in July so offerings were plentiful. Bread Alone, Pickle-icious and even a homemade soap maker were in da house! The overall offerings were a bit more varied than other markets which seems best suited to the community. A FM without pretentious airs, relatively easy parking for your ride and the chance to «conversate» with some nice vendors makes a Saturday morning at the market worthwhile. They run to November and start up in June 2011.

The great thing about river towns is that you get all of these former hippies who partake in activities straight out of Stuff White People Like. The gentrified area of Peekskill is no exception. The Peekskill Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8:30 to 2:30pm from June 12 to November 20. It’s not just produce — you’ll find pickles, baked goods, peanut butter(I definitely spent $ 40 on peanut butter), and booze, amongst other great locally sourced items. The vendors truly take pride in their products — the peanut butter guy was so zealous about letting me sample all of his varieties, and I gladly obliged. The downside: the hippies allow their children to be just as «free range» as the meat sold at the market. The free parking only makes up for it so much.
