This place is very good. The prices are low, and the portions are huge. The quality of the food varies. Sometimes thee beef is too dry. Actually, it’s usually dry. You’re much better off with the chicken or fish meals. This place does an incredible take-out business. Every time we’re there, the take-out bags don’t stop coming to the register. If you like Ecuadorian food, this is the place for you. It’s the best I’ve had, so far. Except for the beef.

The food is delicious and plentiful. You really get more than you can eat, so consider sharing a meal. Some of the staff doesn’t feel comfortable speaking English, but there is always someone who can take over if your Spanish is rusty. Everyone is super-friendly and the prices ridiculously low for the amount of food you are served.

I can’t even write anything funny or sarcastic on this review. This place is god damn amazing. A true hidden gem. Best shrimp I have ever had, I mean FUCK City Island, these guys know what they are doing, shrimp was succulent and delicious. The pork chop was moist and memorable. The rice and beans are oh my god perfect every time. Today I had the fried chicken, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Next time I will be experimenting with the fish offerings for sure. The homemade sauces are great too. Check this place out.

I would’ve given 1 start, but the food was not bad. We’re new to Peekskill, and were hoping that El Conquistador would satisfy our Latin-cuisine craving, but will not go back after our experience. We put our order in, and watched as other customers that arrived after us came in, ordered, and received their food.(We were one of 4 tables, so they were not busy.) Apparently they do a lot of take-out, because people were coming in for pick-up and out the door in under 5 minutes. After 40 frustrating minutes of watching all of this and to be honest, feeling discriminated on, I finally went up to ask when our food would be coming. My husband was ready to walk out, but I didn’t want to be rude. It finally came after 50 minutes from the time of order. When we finally got the bill, they had also charged us for WATER. Two«aqua’s» at $ 2.00 each. Tap water, with lime. I have never, ever been to any restaurant in this whole country where they charged for tap water!!! The food was honestly not bad, decent portions and moderately priced. But we’ll never return.

This is a gem of a restaurant! Catering to a strong community of residents from Ecuador, the place is always busy, accommodating a long work day with late hours and serving delicious, flavorful dishes. It serves up generous, very inexpensive portions of soups. I had the seafood soup which came with crab, shrimp, scallops, octopus, mussels, and was huge, incredibly flavorful, and hearty. I took half home and let me tell you, it really was good the 2nd time around. The shakes are yummy, delightful for young and old. I prefer them with milk, but you have an option for a lower calorie water based ones. Raspberry, mango, coconut are my favorite flavors. There are others. Really all dishes are amazing. The amount of food that comes may look intimidating but the meat is thin and is manageable to finish if you’re really hungry. A side salad is common to many dishes and will change depending on the vegetable of the day, sometime avacados, sometime black eyed peas. You have your options of french fries or plantains(yellow or green) as another side. Go for plantains and pour alittle of that tasty sauce placed on each table. Yum!!! Rice is impeccable. And the meats are … well, I am speechless. Easy going atmosphere, delicious drinks, amazing flavor, and a nice table sauce to top over your dishes keeps me coming here once a week.
