We visited Knuckleheads for a mid-afternoon lunch. The restaurant was nearly empty. Our service was prompt and courteous. I ordered the chicken BLT which was good but nothing special. The french fries that came along with it were your standard frozen crinkle-cut. I probably should have ordered something else — everybody else in my group had hamburgers and were more complimentary of their food.

Best french fries anywhere, and the specials will«surprise.» When you walk in you don’t expect much, but there is the occasional steak, lobster, filet of sole, etc on the specials. When you are there, you are like a local!

I gave this place a second chance and they have again disappointed me. The beer wasn’t cold, the mozzarella sticks had a doughy taste to it, the wings had more batter than chicken. Our burgers had no flavor and were pink inside when we asked for well done. The crinkle fries were over cooked, some were burnt and greasy. We will not be returning here again.

Great home cooking food, nice people running this friendly place. Would definitely return if passing through again.

I am giving it 2 stars because in my opinion it’s all about the food and not the service. The reason I gave the food 2 stars was because the appetizers were frozen. There was no love involved in the cooking process. Frozen wings, shrimp, calamari and Fries. They were also served unseasoned. They could of at least sprinkled them with some salt & pepper before serving. As far as the burgers go they were pretty good. It wasn’t just a frozen patty. I could tell it was a hand made burger from fresh chop meat however the meat was not seasoned. If it was not for the burger I would not go back but I am willing to give it another try.

One whole star for the service. Nancy, our server did an awesome job. She checked on us frequently, brought more bread when asked, and was happy to make up a garlic and oil sauce for my calamari when I requested it. However, the food was mediocre at best. I got the fried calamari, a weakness of mine, and it was soggy and tasteless. But it was big. It was a big, soggy and tasteless plate of fried calamari for $ 10.95. For a girl who usually leaves a spotless plate behind, I actually didn’t eat all the calamari. From my experience, I wouldn’t go to this tavern for the food. But the ambiance was very cool. Regulars were posted up at the bar, yelling at the baseball game on the television in that kick-ass NY accent that I had once thought only existed in movies. It was music to my ears. The walls were decorated with a whimsical mix of sports paraphernalia and modern art. Stained wooden walls, tables, chairs and bar give Knuckleheads a cozy feel. I wouldn’t mind coming back and bellying up to the bar for a night of beer-swilling and baseball game bemoaning…

This place is very good you can get anything from clams on a Half shell to Pizza and everything is good looks like a dive bar from the outside and Kinda does on the inside too but there is a good reason why they have been around for so long its just a very good local Joint.
