Poor choice on my part. Six tiny scallops for $ 9.99! They got me. The large combos looked good that several were sharing.

Yesterday I drove 33 miles to Pembroke Pines to visit my friend, Huong. Once I got to her place, she gave me some suggestions of where we can eat. I decided to go with Submarine Crab because I was in the mood for shrimp. She said she’s had the crawfish there before, but they also have shrimp, crab legs, and other seafood. We found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. After entering, the staff greeted us and sat us at a 2-top. A guy laid down giant white paper to cover the table top and gave us plastic clear gloves and aprons. We got the menus, water, and the complimentary shrimp chips to start with. We decided to order the: — 1 lb Shrimp with Torpedo Mild $ 11.99 — Chicken Wings Lemon Pepper $ 5.99 — White Rice $ 0.99 After the server typed our order in a little handheld tablet device, we put on the aprons and gloves. We munched on the yummy shrimp chips, then the food came. The wings were too salty in my opinion, but they were good and crispy. Huong said it’s probably because they cook the wings in the actual lemon sauce whereas some places cook the wings first and then toss with the sauce. Anyhow, the best part was the shrimp. I thought the shrimp sizes were going to be small, but these were big, I think they are called colossal shrimps. We peeled the shrimp shells and ate the shrimp with gloves on. It definitely gets messy but the gloves help a lot. I wish they had smaller gloves though, because Huong and I have small hands. Most of the time I was trying not to accidentally eat the gloves. What we ordered was more than enough for us. We were extremely satisfied with the food, although the torpedo sauce had way too much garlic in my opinion. My breath reeked of garlic. After eating, the staff brought a carafe of soap water and dropped a dry ice in it. It was a clever way to sanitize our hands. If you are craving shellfish and in the area, instead of going to Publix or other supermarkets for shellfish, just order it here! The prices are great and you won’t have to cook :).

This place is a hidden gem ! We ordered the combo #2 with clams, shrimp, and king crab. It also came with sausage, potatoes and corn. It tasted AMAZING ! Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. Be advised that the shrimp are whole, with head and all. The service was great as well. They were very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this spot and we’ll be coming back with friends

First time coming here and it definitely does not disappoint! The service is great and they round on the tables frequently to make sure you are taken care of. My family ordered 5 pounds of crawfish in the medium torpedo sauce and 2 pounds of shrimp in the same sauce and it was so delicious that we ordered more for to go! The place is very clean and has a great atmosphere! They give you a bib and gloves so you won’t get dirty. I definitely recommend this place as a go to for all seafood in the torpedo sauce!

Food was pricy and absolutely no atmosphere. Be ready for shrimp to still have heads on :(

Just finished eating here and I am thoroughly pleased with the entire dining experience. The staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. Our waiter suggested the fried rice which definitely enhanced the meal. We got the king crab, crawfish, lobster, shrimp, and clams in the torpedo sause.(Get the Torpedo Sause!!!) Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted really good. Give them a try. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I was looking for something different in Pembroke Pines and I was thrilled when I found this new place. I was even more thrilled when I saw the menu then ate there. It was awesome and easy to get in and out. They give you a giant bowl of seafood at which you pick your own sauce, we had garlic butter. There are 3 levels of stuff to include. We had the middle $ 50 for 2 with shrimp clams lobster. It was great. You can swap out lobster for king crab and there are some other options. They had other stuff too, but that bowl of seafood wad perfect! The waiters work as a team. The only thing missing from that menu is blue Crabs. That would put them over the top awesome. The food was great!!! The only other problem I anticipate is being able to get a table once everyone finds out about this! !

As a seafood aficionado, this is *the* spot to hit up for delicious boil-style food(or if you’re just craving good shellfish)! Having just been to Rustic Inn and Shuckers recently, I would hands down come to this location over those any day. My go-to order to split with my wife: //Combo 1(1 lb of clams, 2 lbs of shrimp) with Torpedo sauce and mild spice You can opt to replace the 2lbs of shrimp with //2 lbs of crawfish OR //1 lb each of shrimp/crawfish I had the 1lb each the first time I came, but find that the 2 lbs of shrimp is more worth my time. The crawfish tends to be more time-consuming for little reward(though still delicious). So, if you love crawfish and absolutely need it, definitely get it. And for the other sides(bread, corn, potatoes and sausage): the corn is sweet and so good with the sauce mix; DUNK that bread in the sauce and devour it. The staff are always more than happy to help you with refilling water, grabbing more napkins, getting bibs, clearing the table. I definitely appreciate their friendliness. Also just a note: They’re on the same side of the plaza as Five Guys(just a few doors down to the left, if you’re facing the front of 5 guys: if Jared is to the right of Five Guys, sprint left for the delicious goodies).

The wife and I got there at 7:30pm on a Friday night, they were a little rude suggesting we should go eat else where because there’s no more seat and that there wouldn’t be one for the next hour. We stood outside and wait our turn and it was worth the wait, the food was good We chose Combo #3, I think $ 63.99 or 64.99 but it was more than enough. It’s a casual small place& be ready to maybe get dirty with all the crab juice etc… Also I want to add that once we got a seat out server was the nicest young man that ever serve me.

Delicious! Torpedo sauce spice was to die for! Service was on point. If I could make one suggestion… If you have a beer license, it cost nothing to offer wine as well. I think it would attract more people. Wine goes with everything!

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. Simple and tasty food. I had the Cajun spiced crawfish and enjoyed the full lb to myself along with a few beers. John the owner was present and attentive to his patrons.

In all fairness, I only tried an iced tea and their Fried Shrimp and Sweet Potato Fries. The Fries were horrible and the shrimp was just ok. The iced tea however, was out of this world amazing. I will go back just for the Mermaid Iced Tea. I’ve never had anything like it.

Hands down the BEST seafood/crab boil restaurant in south florida. Coming from California, we had so many options for seafood and we struggled to find anything that could compare, until today. Now, if you’re looking for a place that serves plain boiled seafood, dipped in butter, this is NOT the place for you. The seafood here is PACKED with flavor. And you get down and dirty eating with your hands. This is everything a traditional crab boil should be. We got the #3 combo. 1lbs of clams, 1lbs shrimp, 1lbs crawfish, 2lbs snow crab, potatoes, corn, and sausage… all covered in their torpedo sauce, which is very similar to the traditional Cajun crawfish sauce you get when you go to new orleans. We ordered it extra spicy of course. This was more than enough food to feed 4 people generously, and we are big time eaters. For $ 64, you cant beat the quality or quantity. So so so so good. And we ordered a fried catfish and french fries meal for the kids. Catfish was fried to crispy perfection. And the fish was nice a moist inside. The portion was enough to feed an adult and then some. For $ 10, it was a crazy good deal. The seahorse tea was good too, presentation was pretty cool with the dry ice. We drove 45 mins from Boca for this and we will definitely come back!!! Now if you think that’s too pricey, then you might as well stay home. That’s like going to Morton’s and saying you don’t want to pay $ 50 for a steak you could’ve made at home. Anytime you go to a restaurant, you’re paying for convenience. Do I want to buy, butcher, cook, and clean up all that seafood? And have my house smell like it for days? NO! So I pay the extra couple of bucks and enjoy a nice meal with my family.

We were promptly and warmly greeted. The restaurant was half filled and seemed clean. Each of the two long walls had gray tile, a few cartoon fish near portholes and a tv. THEMENU: Other than corn and potatoes there are no veggies or salad. And the menu is small. This seems like an easy cooking gig — crab boils. ORDER: We ordered a pound each of King Crab($ 25.99) and lobster tails($ 23.99). We didn’t want crawfish or clams so we didn’t get a combo. But we ordered 2 corns($.50 each), 1 potato($.50 each) and an order of sausage($ 1.99 for 6 slices) so everything was served in a bowl. The server recommended a combo sauce of torpedo(hot), lemon pepper and garlic butter. We got a medium hot combo sauce on the side. NOGLOVENOCRAB: First we got a plastic basket with a paper holding a few fried shrimp chips. Then we got gloves and bibs. I never ate with gloves on but I’m glad I did. I wouldn’t have wanted to smell my dinner hours after! LETTHESEAFOODSPEAK: After about 15 minutes a guy brought two half filled silver bowls of the sauce and then the bowl with our dinner. The sauce tasted good but it seemed like a heaping spoon of chopped garlic from a jar and spices and butter. I’m glad we got it on the side because it masked the taste of the food. When I tasted the king crab by itself it was sweet but with the sauce all I tasted was garlic. THEREARENOPLATES. You eat off of the paper tablecloth. I didn’t taste the lobster because the two tails were whole. I didn’t want to hold a whole tail and rip it with my mouth. It’s one thing to suck meat out of a small piece of seafood but I’m not an animal. Also, hubby — who did eat a tail — said the vein was left in it. I wish they cleaned and cut the tails for eating ease. BOTTOMLINE: The seafood seemed to be prepared in a boil seasoning that was salty to both of us. We were glad that we didn’t have the sauce poured on it all because it would have been saltier — and for me tons more calories of butter. Be prepared to have your leftovers poured into a clear plastic bag. For $ 70 the diet Coke, water and dish of seafood wasn’t cheap. We had short pieces of king crab(not one long leg). As nice as the restaurant staff was, for the money, healthy preparation and cooking ease, I’d rather buy quality seafood and make it myself.

Submarine Crab is great! Delicious seafood, new restaurant and great service. What more can you ask for? You can get down and dirty with a Combo or dive in with specific seafood dishes. My boyfriend and I ordered the Combo #2(Clams, Shrimp and King Crab Legs). I ordered it with the torpedo sauce and a mild spice level(I’m not a fan of spicy). It was super delicious! My favorite part was the King Crab Legs. If your ordering this make sure you have no where else to go except a shower after. Ripping off shrimps heads, cracking open crab legs and eating with your hands can be a very messy business. But man is it worth it! The torpedo sauce is a great mix of cajun, garlic and lemoney flavor, but don’t except to get kissed for the next 12 hours. They close the meal with a fun bottle of soapy water with dry ice dropped in. The suds rise to the top for you to grab and clean your hands with. It is total innocent fun for the next 5 minutes. Looking forward to visiting Submarine Crab again to try more sauces with combos and dishes.

We just had one of those days of hmmm what should we have for dinner, Type of nite & we so happen to drive by Submarine Crab and took a glimpse inside and looked like those Louisiana style type of boiled seafood and it was! We’ve had our share of seafood boil from Boiling Crab to Hot n’ Juicy, Hot Pot and a momz/popz King Crawfish in Orlando. We thought we’d try it out! We were not disappointed at all! It truly hit the spot! We had 2lbs of shrimp Torpedo«hot» with sausage & corn. Sauce was super tasty w/minced garlic, full of flavor that coated every inch of the shrimps. We are definitely coming back for more. Service was superb!

Want to get down and dirty? Then Submarine Crab is the place for you! This place is all about boils. Order individual items by the pound: Crawfish, Shrimp, King Crab Legs, Snow Crab, Clams, Green Lip Mussels, Lobster Tail, Oysters. The combos are more expensive and good to share. Combo #1($ 34.99) consists of 1 lb clams, 2lb shrimp or crawfish. Combo #2($ 46.99) consists of 1lb clams, 1 lb shrimp or crawfish and 1 lobster tail or 1lb King Crab legs. Combo #3($ 63.99) consists of 1lb clams, 1lb shrimp, 1lb crawfish and 2lb snow crab legs. You can get the boil in your choice of sauce: Classic Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Torpedo, or Garlic Butter. There are also some cooked items on the menu, mostly starches and a few select grilled seafood items. However, pretty much everyone I saw here was eating a boil. The staff covers your table with white paper and you eat straight out of the big silver bowl. Shells go on the table. No plates needed! Husband and I shared Combo #2 and an extra lb of Snow Crab Legs with Torpedo Sauce. Per our server, the Torpedo Sauce is a mixture of the three other sauces(classic Cajun, lemon pepper, & garlic butter). It was was very garlicky and very flavorful. We ordered the sauce mild but it still had a bit of a kick to it. The King Crab Legs were excellent! Succulent and juicy, if you can afford it, I would get this every time. The Snow Crab Legs and Clams were very good. Many of the clams fell out of the shells and I had to fish for them in the sauce, but they were still plump and juicy. The only disappointment was the shrimp. No, I did not mind that the shrimp was served with eyes. I minded that the shrimp was overcooked and therefore chewy and tasteless. We had several shrimp leftover. The corn on the cob was a little overcooked as well but it was still tasty. I really did not eat the potatoes. I tasted the sausage and it was nothing special. The French bread served on the side was warm and crusty. To start our server brought out shrimp chips. Warning: Eat at your own risk as they are highly addictive. As far as alcohol, I just saw beer on the menu. I ordered iced tea. Our server did not specify that only had sweet tea so I did not drink it. Submarine Crab does offer gloves and bibs but I would not use them. For me, part of the fun is feeling the food and getting dirty. But not a place I would recommend for a first date!

The crawfish was absolutely amazing! They were medium sized and I got a pound with the torpedo sauce. It’s 12.99 per pound and you can add sides such as corn and sausage for a little more. I also got the Cajun fries which were very well seasoned! they give you gloves and bibs and they have a cool way to wash your hands at the table. they add dry ice to a glass of soapy water and its so much fun to play with it! I will definitely be back here to try their other items!

Where can you go for really good seafood in south Florida? I can think of 1 – 2 places off the top of my head, both far and very expensive. Enter, Submarine Crab. A 3 week old restaurant conveniently located in Pembroke Pines. Louisiana inspired cooking from catfish to crawfish, a niche that greatly needed to be filled. A cozy dining room with 12 tables and clean décor. Friendly service, passionate about their food. Properly seasoned and prepared food with generous portions. To top it off their pricing falls right in that sweet spot of great food at an affordable price. They are new, so they have a great core menu, with plans to add on in the future. I’m really excited about this place!
