The Alumni has great food and great service. The bar is a great casual place to have a beer and something good to eat. The Pizza is Great. The Salmon is Great and the Chicken BLT wrap is fantastic. The Alumni is well run and a great corner bar and restaurant.

The service at the Alumni is always great. The waitresses are super friendly and always nice when I bring my kids in. The food is always consistent and above average for pub food. I wish they had a slightly better selection of Draft beers. Pat, can we get Mayflower on deck? Great spot.

What can I say about the best bar pizza around. I can say that tonight it absolutely hit the spot. I have been many, many, times and have always been a happy camper! Keep up the great work,

I’ve been here a few times now, and it’s time to write a review. I have yet to be disappointed. The first few times I’ve gone, I’ve sat at a table, but the last two times sat at the bar. Service is great no matter where you sit. I’ve gotten burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and beers here. The burgers are seasoned well and cooked to your liking(you get medium if you ask for it etc.). Their sandwiches are top-notch. My husband got a sandwich with grilled chicken and he is VERY picky about his grilled chicken, so picky in fact he rarely orders it out, he was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the chicken. My most recent meal there was steaktips and mashed potatoes. The tips were tender, cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were by far the best I’ve had at any restaurant. They didn’t have that«fake» or «boxed» after-taste like I find at most places. There is plenty of parking out behind the restaurant. I usually go during the day, but I am sure it can get busy and crowded in the evenings. I would highly recommend signing up for the rewards program if you plan on visiting Alumni more than once. We get coupons all the time from them, that on top of decent priced meals makes for a happy husband. In conclusion– cold, delicious beers, great food, great service, decent prices. I plan on making many trips back.

Steak tips are always perfect and more than enough. Burgers are awesoms. Consistently good food.

The Alumni is great if you’re looking for a local, convenient and easy place for lunch or a quick dinner. The staff is not always over the top friendly, but they are efficient and get you in and out in a reasonable time. While it’s a small restaurant, I’ve never had to wait for a table. The food is decent. Any of the wings are delicious, bone in or boneless but i especially love the honey barbeque. I have not tried many other options on the menu but what I have had has been good. If you are expecting a gourmet restaurant you may want to go somewhere else, but if you’re looking for fast, easy service and pizza/burgers/appetizers this is a great place to go! I also like that they have a frequent visitor/reward system. I received a coupon in the mail for a free appetizer which definitely made me want to go back and try even more things on the menu.

Great menu options and friendly service. Had the fish tacos from the daily specials, I would recommend. Burgers looked good also. Sign up for the local rewards program if you have the chance to frequent this location.

Excellent pub, Scotty’s not only a bar tender he’s a comedian. I hear everything on the menu is good although I usually order some type of salad, which are real good or pizza which is also real good. Reasonably priced plenty of parking out back, just couple miles from rt3, It’s a good spot to meet a few friends for dinner and take in a game.

This place is kind of a dive. You can find some of the cheapest booze ever. A 2 dollar bud light is pretty damn good. The food seemed bland and unmemorable. The jalapeño poppers were cold and almost frozen in the center. I mean you would go with some buddies and have a good time drinking and having some apps. overall a good place.

Been going here since moved into the area 3 yrs ago. Hub and I love this place. Everyone always friendly. Food and service great. Pizza is the best. Though their special salads are my favorite. Always fresh.

The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because the waitstaff and bartenders there are phenomenal. It’s the Alumni’s only redeeming quality. I have been eating here for years and recently ordered takeout and it was awful! Undercooked chicken and soggy french fries along with a pizza and a few other things. Didnt eat the chicken because it was soggy and still pink so I brought it back. Apparently the owner does not like the idea of returning undercooked, unsatisfying and potentially dangerous food! He put a real fight and had a bad attitude over what was probably a $ 10-$ 20 meal. Needless to say I will never be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend them to anyone unless you want to pay $ 20 bucks for food poisoning.

I choose my star ratings by what you get compared to the price(this one is a $$), and Alumni in Pembroke definitely is one of the best casual dining spots on the South Shore. There is a neighborhood feel to the place, the servers/bartenders are very friendly, the managers seem relaxed as opposed to some places where they look like prison wardens keeping watch over the staff. The biggest upside to this place is the food. The turkey tips were perfectly cooked and I also got a broiled fisherman’s platter on another location that could have been served at a white-tablecloth restaurant. I also have hear the pizza is good here from many people, but can’t speak from personal experience. If you’re on the South Shore and looking to spend $ 11 – 25 per person on a casual dinner, Alumni is a great choice.

I’ve been going here forever, and ever since the renovations its even better. Some of the waitresses need to pay a little more attention to detail, but all in all an excellent place.

We often go here for lunch on weekends when we’re in the area and were surprised to find what is basically a dive bar with reasonably priced and tasty food. It’s not fancy, but it is good. If you basically don’t want to be fussed over it’s great. The menu has a good amount of variety from salads, sandwiches, bar style pizza to more substantial fare like steak tips or fish dishes. If you plan to visit often, sign up for their frequent visitor card. They send you coupons for free meals all the time including for your birthday, anniversary and even your half birthday!

Staff was relatively attentive. I had to toss a glance or two in the direction of our waitress to get her attention when there was a bit of a lull in service. To start, my friend got the onion soup and was pleased. I got the house chili. It was… different. It was good, just not used to such a soupy chili, but again… tasty nonetheless. I got the Montréal Bleu Burger(Montréal Seasoning/Bleu Cheese) and she got the Reuben Sandwich. Food was hot and very tasty. Seasoned fries were spot on. I got the onion rings(I prefer a thicker cut, but the shoestring onion rings here were not bad). We split a turtle cheesecake(only other items on dessert menu are two chocolate items). If this was a frozen cheesecake(as I would have suspected from a pub), you could have fooled me. Cheesecake was very good, caramel on it was warm. Just a nice final course to our meal. I will be returning here to try some more dishes. AND… they had Molson!(My beer of choice)

It would be too easy to dismiss this place as a «local dive bar» — don’t make that mistake! The food here is FAR better than typical bar food — the British Beer Company up the street has NOTHING on this place. If you get here on a Friday or Saturday night — expect a wait because it is a great place to bring the family or friends for dinner, but its worth it. I have always found the pizza so good! Crispy crust, great toppings and a fair amount of grease — but what is bar pizza with none? The steak tips are so tender and delicious, burgers are great, even the clam chowder is awesome! They have great specials(all kinds of seafood, pasta dishes) and I think the prices are extremely reasonable. I have always had good service and the bartenders are quick and attentive as well.
