Wife and I had dinner with a couple of friends who had been here previously. It was our first visit, and it was truly a great experience. As others have so correctly stated, this is a hidden gem in a wonderful small town. The service, food, and atmosphere was more typical of what one may experience in a larger city. It is obvious the chef, staff and everyone involved know what they are doing. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and efficient. Drink orders were quickly taken and served. He allowed us all the time we needed, but was not overbearing at all. The dining room is rather small and intimate, perfectly suited for a great casual evening. Our entrees were served very quickly and presentation and taste were all outstanding. I had the pasta special, which was awesome. Overall a very, very nice experience and will definitely go back.

Delicious!!! Wonderful atmosphere: relaxing, invigorating, thought enhancing décor. The food is terrifically prepared. The food is fresh and tastes clean. It does not seem like the Cisco truck just dropped the food off in the bag and they microwaved the pre-prepared meal as per usual in almost every restaurant nowadays. I live in Miami and have access to some of the highest end restaurants and this restaurant blows them all out of the water! Such a gem in a small town like Pendleton. Clemson professors are very lucky to have such a great restaurant!

As someone with high culinary standards and an affinity for cooking, 1826 is perfect. I rarely go out for dinner knowing that what I order is going to be just as fresh, flavorful, and creative as what I make at home without the cleanup — but this is the place for that. It is by far the best food, best service, and best environment for the area. You can’t go wrong with what you get here. Recently got the fall pumpkin beet ravioli and my fiancé got the braised brisket with root vegetables. They are very particular about their meat suppliers, and it pays off. 1826 just has incredibly refined flavors that you can actually TASTE without being overwhelmed by salt! To top it all off, the price is VERY reasonable for the quality. Don’t miss out — try it for yourselves!

What a wonderful way to celebrate hubby’s birthday! This is our 2nd time dining here. The first being lunch and tonight was dinner. From the appetizer snackboard to dessert we almost licked our plates clean. Saurbraten was the special tonight and was delicious. The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. Dessert was an apple popover and flourless chocolate cake and both were delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and service is excellent. Wait staff is very personable knowing customers by their first names which makes me believe they and many repeat customers. One couple we met said they come every Saturday night. We will definitely be a repeat customer.

I love the Saturday brunch! With my friends and/or family, we enjoy eating outside through out the changing seasons. This is a lovely setting, and the food is unique & delicious. I have tried many of the menu items & have enjoyed them all. Traditional Bloody Mary or the crisp, cool peach-mango sangria, both winners!!!

I’ve been to 1826 multiple times and the food is always well-prepared and delicious. My most recent experience was for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised at their lunch pricing. They were incredibly reasonable. They have lovely patio seating and the inner décor is a simple, yet sophisticated. The wait staff was incredibly friendly. I would recommend for a small, but nice dinner party or a date night.

In terms of atmosphere, quality, and price, 1826 On the Green offers the best lunch in the area. The Bacon Beef Sliders with Sweet Potato Fries always please, as do the soups, the bisques in particular. Nevertheless, my lunch companions regularly laud the Fish Tacos as well as the Fried Chicken Sandwich. All of the salads are wonderful and the Parmesan Peppercorn dressing even better than the Clemson Blue Cheese. Like the featured cocktails, the dinner specials are consistently solid; however, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken remains my favorite dinner entrée and the Gin and Tonic my cocktail of choice. But try anything and everything eventually; your first visit will have you coming back. This place is special.

This is the best place to eat in the Clemson/Pendleton area. The service is good but not fast. If you are looking for quick dining, go elsewhere. I usually go to 1826 if I know I want to relax and enjoy my meal. The menu changes weekly and is posted on their Facebook. You can also sign up to get a weekly email. I love the coziness and quaint feel of the restaurant. The food is good and well-priced. The wine and drink menu is limited but there is usually something for everyone. I have always enjoyed everything I’ve ordered, from salad to entrée to dessert. A must try if you are in the area!

Here with friends recently… I was greatly pleased to find a fine dining venue here. Excellent ambiance in an old building. Great service. Excellent food, especially for the price. I had their shrimp and grits which I thought was executed perfectly… I don’t want to give the impression that this is world class or that it competes with a $ 150 meal in Atlanta… It is a great find though a really decent place to go for a great experience. I plan to come back.

I had lunch at 1826 today. Great potato soup with gouda. An excellent blue cheese chicken salad. The owner is very friendly and helpful. This is a nice restaurant, and I cannot wait to come in for dinner. For all the Clemson people out there, this is a great place three miles or so from campus. Don’t want a chain? Want to support local vendors? This is the place for you. Dinner Thursday –Saturday. Closed Monday. Lunch: Tuesday-Saturday Barbara Rizzo, die Inhaberin, spricht Deutsch. Reservations: 864−646−5500

Completely unexpected for Pendleton. I would expect a place like this in Charleston or even D.C. I had the special salad: poached pears and fried brie salad with maple vinaigrette. Oh wow. And the dessert selection. I tried the mousse sampler. Yummo. Lots of praise for the bacon and beef sliders. They even said they’d make anything my sister wanted for her 10mth old daughter. She loved the ravioli, btw. The only down side was that my sister’s wine was definitely soured. A pinot noir that was so bitter it made my toes curl. My wine was fine. Bottomline, if you are looking for somewhere to eat in the Clemson/Seneca area go here.

This restaurant was recently purchased by The Village Bakery owners. The food was amazing and priced perfectly for a white tablecloth restaurant. We ordered shrimp and grits to share. The server did«the split» for us, and the portion was very generous. The meal was incredibly good and was a delight, I am still raving about the food! The servers were very, very, good. In fact we wondered where Barbara found this caliber of staff. At the end of our incredible experience, Barbara(the new owner) came and had a very sincere chat with us. She valued our opinion, and valued us as guests. Please go and support Pendleton’s new addition to fine dining!
