Try the Huckle Berry Beer or the«Beer Named Sue» The cheese curds are yummmy! I started visting Pendleton/Eastern Oregon 22 years ago. It seems that it might be turning the corner from being called«Pentucky» or «Western Idaho» to a place one could see themsleves living in. ;-)

We made it for 3 to 6pm happy hour. Lots of food choices and beers were 3.50. The ella ipa was great and so was the burger. Good atmosphere. I highly recommend.

Cool environment & well crafted brews. The IPA& Double IPA were super-tasty, I just wish I had enough room in my gut to order the Bruce/Lee Porter, cuz I tested it & it was on point. Their menu is fun, with some burger options that I wish I had tried. The sweet potato fries are also delicious with the sauce.

I have been to the Prodigal Son several times, once on business and a few times for pleasure. The two DELICIOUS vegetarian burger patty options(portabella mushroom or tempeh) are so very much appreciated– particularly because one can pick any burger style on the menu for them to go on, the drinks from the bar are strong(don’t worry — I have only imbibed on one of my personal trips), and the customer service is always a thumbs up. Consider this a go-to spot when in Pendleton!

Wow! This place is awesome. My bf and I are moving from Texas to Seattle and happened to stop for the night in Pendleton. The manager at our hotel recommended this place to us so we thought we’d give it a try – we weren’t disappointed. He had the Beer Named Sue and I had the Huckleberry Wheat – both were amazing. We also ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and the Buffy and Chicken BLT for out entrees. Everything was delicious. I’d definitely recommend the place to anyone in the area.

Disclaimer… I live in Bend Oregon so have turned into a total beer snob. You have to drink a pint whenever you cross the city line pretty much.(Kidding, but it feels like that sometimes!) Ordered the taster tray OFDOOM. You get a «sample» of each of their 10 brews on tap. The way our waitress described it I was expecting tiny glasses. Oh no, at least 5oz each. The tray is $ 12 but I couldn’t even finish it liquid-volume-wise. Whew! Nothing over the top fantastic but some really good solid brews. But here’s my 5-star part… I Can Haz Cheezeburger. Best hamburger I’ve had in ages. Hands down. Bun was amazing, toppings fresh and generous. I stole some mustard from my husbands burger and it was the crowing achievement. So get some of that local mustard peeps and toss it on! Swapped for the sweet tater fries, thought I got the wrong ones because they were the same color as the regular kind. But no, they were right. True honest sweet taters, not the orange yams we’re so used too. Then again, I was expecting the orange kind so was a little sad they were different. Excellent regular fries though and the homemade chips passing the table made me wish I had ordered those instead. Overall, the burgers are worth a road trip. :)

The food is pretty good but the beer is just okay. I wouldn’t go to far out of the way to have a beer here.

Open floor with old west feel, very casual and better than average service. Good brews(try their barrel aged barleywine) and fantastic batter on fish/chips and on the onion rings.

Excellent burgers and wonderful beer. I have taken two recent trips to Prodigal Son to introduce various aspects of my family to some of the best beer and burgers in the area. My recommendation for burgers is the Pitbull, delightfully topped with one of the best onion rings in existence. My last visit I had the fish and onion rings, once again so wonderful. They make their own tarter sauce and it was wonderful. My grandson had the herb wings, he wasn’t sure when we couldn’t really describe rosemary and thyme, he didn’t have to worry they were great according to him. My son and I had a flight of the beers. Not a fan of the barley brew and one other, the others were tasty and the hints of either chocolate, raspberry, etc. gave me good ideas for growlers in the future. If you come just to drink the beer be sure to get an appetizer of the onion rings they are the best I have had.

Quiet St Patrick’s Day in Pendleton. Awesome Fatted Calf Stout and fish and chips. Always a pleasure to stop here when in the area. Daily pasta special is usually excellent and the family friendly atmosphere is great. They even have a play room for kids which is nice for everyone.

What a great place! We came here on a Friday evening after a long road trip. I got the 10 beer sampler for $ 10, which was worth every penny! All the beers were fantastic, especially the Apollo Red Chariot which is a strong imperial red ale. Very yummy! I ordered the grilled chicken which was also amazing! The French fries were natural cut and perfectly prepared and the chicken was on a toasted hoagie like bun and was awesome! There was also a nice little play area for kids which kept my daughter busy while I was finishing my huge beer sampler :) The service was also attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town. I highly recommend!

Went here based on reviews & menu. Traveling via 84. Place is low key. I was excited about the Ruben Sammich which was all house-made including the sauerkraut. Wife opted for the Fish & Chips. My sammich was constructed of old ingredients., especially the bread. Stale toasted bread = fall apart mess. Sauerkraut was flat, still green, no pizzazz. Wife’s fish & chips,…Fish was good, but no seasoning. Fries were cold. Wife experienced upset stomach an hour later into the night. Struck Out Here !!

Awesome bar with great food. I came in here during their happy hour and the price was unbelievably cheap. Get the Mushroom burger, it’s so delicious! The atmosphere and décor was very unique and charming. Will definitely come back if I am in the area again.

I ordered a hamburger with mushrooms, blue cheese, and bacon. Fantastic burger cooked perfectly. Great quality ingredients. I also ordered the Fatted Calf oatmeal stout smooth, rich and delicious. The place was packed to capacity but still, service was top notch and really fast.

Came by on a Monday and to my disappointment they were closed. Stopped back in on Wednesday, with what looked like the entire town, and sat in the bar. The place was hoppin and beer was being served like it was free. I tried a few samples of the beer line up and was surprised at ALL of them. I ordered a pint of the Fatted Calf Oatmeal Stout on Nitro and an Avocado cheese burger. Both were mouth watering and delightful. The atmosphere was that which you would expect of a busy brewery and the staff was chatty and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We were on our way to the coast from boise & spent the night in Pendleton. I had the beer flight and the plougmans plate. It would have been great anywhere. Their beer was fantastic. I couldn’t finish mine but the scotch egg plate would have been better as an appetizer due to the size. Damned good spot.
