Stunning in a low key kind of way… sure, it’s situated next to a cemetary next to Rt. 441 on the edge of the Village of Penfield. Yes, the outdoor seating is decorated with a flamingo trapped in a field of twigs next to a sign that proclaims«Steeler Country.» Who cares about that when the food you order comes out and everything tastes great? So far, so good… great steaks, scallops and sides. Daughter loved her Caesar salad. A winner all the way around. Great service(thanks, Julie!). Our new favorite spot!

The bread and butter with fresh garlic were great. The lobster bisque was good. The steak was flavorless and overcooked. They tried to hide the fact by dousing it it an awful brown gravy referred to as Rosemary Demi Glacé. Glacé lacked any richness and depth or even Rosemary flavor. Heinz in jar is probably better.

Excellent meal from start to finish! Service was very good as was the atmosphere. The arugula salad was outstanding and so was the lobster bisque. Highly recommended.

This is a hard review to write because of the extremes we experienced. My husband and I dined here for the first time on a Friday night. We had 7pm reservations, but got there about 6:30. The bar was packed(I assume because of their BOGO happy hour special), but there was room for us in the dining room, so we got our table early. Our table situation was not the best. Tables were small and crowded together. We were right by the walkway and my chair got bumped into by servers and customers over 5 times that night. Service was extremely slow. We didn’t end up leaving util 8:05pm, which I think is too long for dinner, when the pace was set by the restaurant and not by the patron. I had the shrimp cocktail appetizer. The shrimp were huge, but I was surprised that it was only 3 shrimp for a price of $ 15. I expected 4, maybe 5 for that price. My husband had a special appetizer. It was salmon on a crispy bread with capers, some type of vinaigrette, greens, and cheese. It was delicious! Based on that, we couldn’t wait to get our food. We are steak eaters. We love steak and we order it all the time at restaurants. I ordered the ribeye. What a disappointment! I ordered it medium rare. I cut into it and it was tough. The outside was cooked, but the inside ranged from medium to rare in the center. I took a few bites and my husband could just tell I was not happy. I’m not even sure it was a ribeye, since it didn’t appear to have the marbling of fat that is normal in ribeyes. It came with Parmesan frites. The steak was served on top of them. The ones that were touching the steak were luke warm, the rest were not. I think my food probably sat awhile before it was served to me. For the second time in my life, I actually sent my meal back. At this point we had been there for over an hour, so I opted not to have another meal made since I feared how long it would take. On the other hand, my husband ordered the Steak Au Poivre with the strip steak. It was absolutely delicious. It was heavy on the pepper crusting, but the dijon-brandy semi-glaze cut that a bit. The steak was tender and like butter when you cut it(much like I expected my steak to be). Overall, we left pretty disappointed and am not sure that we’ll return to this restaurant. With so many fantastic choices in the Greater Rochester Area, we’d rather try some place new than end up disappointed twice.

OMG! I can’t believe I waited so long to check this place out! I’ve driven by for years and never made the stop… my mistake. Went here as a party of 4 on New Year’s Eve. 7pm reservations and promptly seated at 7pm.(We arrived a few minutes early and grabbed a drink at the bar. Very friendly, fun, informative bartender! I order dirty martinis with blue-cheese stuffed olives. If the bar doesn’t have that type of olive but the bartender says they can make them, they automatically receive 5 stars and return service from me!) The place was packed but our server was great! Friendly, patient and positive experience with her thru our whole meal. $ 50/person for 4-course limited offering menu. Started with the lobster bisque… mmmmm! The flavor was fantastic and there were actual chunks of tender lobster in it. Yum! Next up was artichoke french. This was tasty and the perfect size in between soup/salad offerings and main entrée. I ordered the Blackened Scottish Salmon… wow! Every single bite of that entrée was delicious! Finished with the Chocolate Ganache cake. Went for one bite to see what it was like… Ended up taking the dessert to go because I was too full but it was too good to pass on. The others in the party ordered salads, stuffed mushrooms and steaks. Every person I was with said it was the best steak they’ve had in the area. Cooked perfect, exactly as ordered, seasoned really well(I snuck a bite from my guy’s plate)…just amazing. To sum it up, I can’t wait to come back and try other items on their menu, sip on their 1-for-1 happy hour drink specials and enjoy their patio in the summers. Thank you for a wonderful first experience(& it was on New Year’s Eve!!)!

Great food on a very cold night when no one was out. Our waitress Molly was very attentive. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Loved everything, especially the fact that we got there at 7:00 and yet were not rushed with our dinner bc the official closing time was 8:00. Will definitely go back!

Food is ok, sides might fair better than the meat, for some reason the management here put one server on for the weekend after Christmas. She tried real hard but still ridiculous. In the long run over priced keep driving same meal exists elsewhere for less.

Started off by the waitress taking about 15 minutes to get to the table for a drink order. She was real cordial and apologized for the wait. Ordered seafood bisque which was really good. I ordered the dry rub ribeye and my wife had the veal pasta. It toke about 35 minutes for our main course to arrive. My wife’s dinner was salty and not very flavorful, only ate half. My steak was ordered med-rare, part of it was and ¾ was well done, very salty and tough. My son and girlfriends were both over cooked and tough, even the scallops were tough. She sent her ribeye back and got the T-bone which came out cooked right but chewy and tough. Needless to say none of our meals were finished. The waitress did cut the bill in half and gave us free desert but even that had a funky refrigerator taste. The food basically was bad and the waitress was good about all that happened so she got a good tip but we won’t go back. Next time I go out for a steak I’ll go to Texas Longhorns sorry to say. Did I say all our meals were way Too Salty.

Had a great lunch at TBones one day. I loved the place from the moment I got out of my car. Inside, it’s got a ton of atmosphere. Nicely decorated, nicely appointed. The menu has a broad range of things for everyone. I had a tasty sandwich called a Pittsburgh Steak, and it was very good. The side Pasta salad was very good too, I had never had anything quite like it. My wife enjoyed her meal too. It was a great visit, and we looked forward to another lunch. And that’s the problem. We returned there for lunch, only to find that they no longer serve it. That’s a real shame, because the place is a real gem. However, like Newton observed, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This caused us to look around, and find Charley Brown’s, so I’ll refer you to my review of that place.

We just had the nicest lunch at tBones Steakhouse. Service was attentive and wine and cocktails expertly prepared. My husband and I both admired the décor and atmosphere. He loved his Pittsburg Cheesesteak Pannini, which came with a Pasta Salad I sampled and it was delicious. I had the French Country Salad with chicken. The combination of ingredients included asparagus, roasted beets, walnuts and mixed greens, topped with warm breast of chicken. It was a generous portion and the asparagus was cooked perfectly crisp and tender and served cold. The variety of lunch options make us want to go back to sample other items. We live on the other side of the City, so we wish they were closer, but never-the-less, we’ll be back soon and often.

Based on previous reviews, I guess I’m Confused! Started out at the bar for cocktails which were lovely including our bartender who was quite personable … Sat outside for our dinner and we had the salmon special and the fried mozzarella for apps ! All great. Dinner was T-bone steak with frittes and I had the house risotto and an arugula salad Perfect. Dessert… Tiramisu(one of the best I’ve ever had). Service was stellar. Polite with just the right amount of attention and wait time. I will be back! There is so much on the menu that I want to try

Did not like it here, I purchased a groupon and it was not worth it at all. The staff was not friendly the atmosphere was bad, there was a smell to the place I did not like. The food was not good.

Have been here a few times and this time I was disappointed! I had a salad to start which was awesome! Though it’s a la carte. I ordered the lobster broccoli French. I think there was 2 chunks of lobster in with the chunks of broccoli which was disappointing. I felt like I was eating an omelet instead of French. It’s an egg wash not an egg bake! At least the wine was good! Although they started ending happy hour at 630?! 7 is more reasonable.

For a steakhouse, the new york strip was terrible and I was very disappointed. Absolutely no seasoning and at least 2 inch thick of fat bordering the piece of meat. The side veggies that came with the dinner left a strange bitter after taste. I ordered mashed potatoes and they packed me scalloped potatoes to go. Needless to say, that accident was the only good thing from this meal. The scalloped potatoes were cheesy and perfectly portioned. The butter that came with the bread was also tasty but it’s sad that I only enjoyed the potatoes and butter coming from a steakhouse. I don’t want to try this steakhouse again unless they decide to season their meats…

My and My husband went to this location on a Friday evening and there were minimal people here — this should’ve been a warning sign. They have a happy hour special on Friday nights that is 2 for 1 — which is pretty good. I had a great bloody Mary and the bartender was very good and nice. We had reservations and were seated right away, they had ice water already on the table and bread. The bread was really undercooked — it was raw dough in the middle. It came with a tasty garlic whipped butter which was really good so we were disappointed that the bread was pretty much inedible. We got Meatballs and Onion rings — the meatballs were alright but honestly I like the frozen ones better — had some off putting spice in them I couldn’t place. The onion rings were good, tasted fresh. For dinner I had the haddock and shrimp French which was a large portion but there was a very thick and heavy breading on the seafood which was soggy and awful and I had to remove all that. The shrimp was tough and overcooked but the sauce on the huge load of angel hair pasta was good. My husband got the rib eye which was grossly overcooked and without seasoning. We told the waitress about the overcooked steak and she quickly had a new steak cooked which was at the right temp but still no seasoning. It came with parmesan French fries which were frozen initially but weren’t that bad. 2⁄5 doesn’t count the 5⁄5 Service we received here and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They do have some serious food/kitchen issues to resolve. We were happy to have the amazon local discount otherwise would’ve been over priced.

mobile review Came here for dinner Tuesday night with my lovely fiancée. First glance from the outside is this place is small, parking lot is small; we’ll see. As soon as we walk in the dinning room is instantly impressive. Very beautiful, good use of the space availible although my fiancée who is an interior designer thought it was too cluttered. Wonderful use of white and black present a fine dining look. We were greeted at the door and sat quickly which was good but then we waited close to 10 minutes before our server came over. After that everything took a very long time to unfold. We didn’t have our drinks at the table until about 17 minutes after sitting. Our entrée arrived 1 hour after sitting. I had easily one of the most delicious soups I have ever eaten; it was a feta– tomato basil nappe soup garnished with feta cubes and basil. They charged extra for my fiancées salad, it is not included with the entrée like the server made us to believe. The salad was fresh. Next our entrees finally came out. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon, it was absolutely delicious! Amazing Demi glaze, perfectly cooked steak to medium rare as I requested, delicious mushrooms and good use of pasta. Absolutely inspiring. My fiancées entrée on the otherhand was the manicotti, it felt and tasted frozen and microwaved. 17 dollars is a steep price for microwaved goods. Manicotti was bland, Sauce was ok. Not impressive. If it was not frozen and microwaved then something is off and should be changed in the dishes preparation. After everything I will certainly return, my experience was good and every restaurant has a bad day when it comes to speed. Food was delicious and worth returning for, next time I will try the duck our ribeye. Stay away from manicotti.

Purchased the first Groupon available as I do with almost all steak places. I’ve bought each one since. At first glance the restaurant looks like a small house, and upon getting there my date actually said, «maybe next time this one comes up on Groupon you not buy it.» The interior is small, but inviting, it’s really the perfect date setting. It’s quiet, the lights are dim, and the décor is modern but minimal. Our first trip my date the bacon wrapped filet special, and I got the pepper crusted flat iron steak, both were absolutely fabulous! Our second trip I wasn’t as spectacularly thrilled with my meal, but my date loved his. The food quality is totally worth the price. I will say I’ve never been in on a Friday or Saturday night so I can’t speak for the service when it’s busy, but both Thursdays I’ve been there it’s been fantastic!

Like so many people I chose to try TBones during the Groupon. Clearly I was delayed on reviewing them, which I feel bad about. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the service was good. With a name like TBones steakhouse somehow I expected more in the line of meats… Whether cuts, aging, preparations… They are good at seasoning. A steakhouse should have a killer signature steak, nice aged cut or two would be something to be proud of in Penfield.

We had a Groupon certificate so we decided to check out this place. Be careful with the Groupon because it will stipulate that you can’t use it on a weekend which is a deal breaker because they close at 9pm and my dining partner /girlfriend don’t get out of work until 8pm, so that’s a bummer. Anyways one day we made it out there around 8:15pm, so ample time to order and not screw them over near closing time. I want to stress 1 point, that their name is T-bone steak house. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare. It came out really good. It was tender and pink in the middle. However, I noticed that around the outside, its blackened shard. And you can’t help but notice the shard taste on every bit. The server was really nice, courteous and attentive, so I didn’t complain about the shard steak because it was edible. I gave it only three star because being a somewhat of an upscale restaurant the staff should have the skills to cook a steak to preference without burning it.

Danielle was our very plesant and attentive waitress. We had a groupon and since it was about to expire they were booked solid inside so they accomodated us on the patio. It was lovely, plenty of umbrella cover. We ordered the special Cioppino there was plentiful seafood(shrimp, scallop, mussels, clams, calamari) caramelized onions, soft whole roasted garlic cloves, cherry tomatoes and fresh pappardelle. Upon first glance I thought the squid looked under cooked but I was wrong it simply wasn’t overcooked, everything was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the tri manicotti(saffron, spinach, roasted red pepper), savory sauce tick tomato sauce was also delicious. An arugula salad with candied pecans, beets, and goat cheese was standard. Our pretzel and italian bread was warm, served with whipped garlic flavored butter.
