We love this place! Doc is awe inspiring in his work and his life. You will want to adopt him as a Grandfather. He hires lovely local help and has a price break for students. The food is so healthy delicious and affordable we have changed the way we shop and eat and base it closer to what Doc has.

Doc is extremely friendly and knowledgable about the fruit and veggies that he sells. Can’t get any fresher. Great prices too!

My friends and I were driving by and spotted this gem of a family farm. We’re so glad we stopped to check it out! Darling Farm’s owner, Doc gave us a tour, cutting some of the freshest vegetables I will ever have the pleasure of putting on my dining room table. From rainbow chard and kale to spaghetti squash and baby zucchini, it’ll be hard to decide what to cook first(and this is from someone who doesn’t spend much time in the kitchen). Can’t wait to go back when the raspberries, corn and yellow broad beans are in season!

What a great little farm! We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and doc, the owner, talked us through the fruit and vegetables he grew at the farm, shared recipe ideas, and took us out to pick some broccoli from the field. Delicious fresh food and doc is such a warm and friendly guy. Would highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I recently stopped by Darling on a whim and was delighted when they said I could go out into the field and pick my own produce! I walked out with one of the employees and picked fresh red and white onions, gorgeous carrots and zucchini! Yes, zucchini in May thanks to their hot house. They also have beautiful sunflowers($ 2.50 for a whole stalk!), gladiolas, bell peppers and it looks like cucumbers are on their way. I highly recommend this place!

I absolutely, positively adore Darling Farms. Being able to drive 5 minutes from my apartment to a quaint family farm is one of those things that make Sonoma County such a wonderful place to live. And the Darling family, always on hand, are so welcoming and helpful. They keep a whiteboard listed with everything they have out in the field that can be picked fresh for you. How cool is that? It takes«farm fresh» to a whole new level.

My Husband and I set out to find a farm where we could take our daughter to pick her own food. We feel that if she takes part in the process(seeing where food comes from) she enjoys her food more. Kody Darling was on the property and was incredibly helpful, full of knowledge and kindness. Our family walked away with some beautiful produce, and what will be a lifetime of memories. Thank you Darling Family for creating such a warm and welcoming place for families to learn more about where food comes from… and all the love that is put into its’ growth. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISFARM to anyone with little toddlers. Photos of our visit are on my blog

I don’t know about you, but I for one do not have a green thumb. Try as I might to grow things, I really just don’t have any luck, or skill, or anything. Darling Farms, living up to their name, brings farming to everyman with an adorable precious nature, and makes produce shopping actually fun! Just located off Petaluma Hill near SSU, Darling Farms is the diamond in the rough of small farming movement. I appreciate their multifaceted approach to localvore and community based support. If you have a pesticide free apple tree with extra apples, bring ‘em down here and they’ll buy them from you! If you would rather pull the world’s most gorgeous purple onion from the ground, than fighting a soccer mom for one at Safeway, Darling Farms is where it’s at! I was delighted to go out into the farm and pull up my selections from the ground at whim, and check out new and exciting veggies that I hadn’t seen or heard of before. We were greeted around the tomato area by resident greeter dog Georgie who was just about cuter than a button, and decided to accompany us throughout our journey. At the end of this exciting and quite dirty adventure, we learned about their CSA program, where you invest in the farm, and then can come in whenever you want for fresh veggies, fruits, pasta, eggs, milk and more. I am so wholeheartedly in support of CSA’s and similar programs, so along we trotted, thrilled to learn and be a part of something so delicious and wonderful. I do have to say, of the dishes I made with DF produce, I had exceptionally rave reviews… especially from their onions, zucchini and squash. I love it!
