Let me preface my review by saying that I’m willing to give this place a second chance. I went here with some friends last weekend after attending a local theater performance to wind down with some wine and conversation. When we first walked in, we thought we found a gem in this new jazz/blues bar in downtown Pensacola. There was an impressive sultry singer with guitar accompaniment, warm red walls and cozy décor. Soon after, however, we were met with screaming, yelling patrons and staff due to a football game on TV. Now I am a huge Red Sox fan and this being October, I fully understand getting excited about sporting events. However, this was NOT the venue. Not only was the entire staff engrossed in this game to the point that we received awful service(well actually there was a distinct lack of service to be exact), but the yelling drowned out what we thought was the highlight of the venue — the live music. As we worked to finish our glasses of wine so we could escape as quickly as possible, we came to believe that our bartender was actually the owner, whose attitude turned us off from the moment we sat down at the bar. If that is the case, he should re-examine the type of environment he wants to have in his venue.
