I went there for coffee beans and asked the school-child behind the counter to grind them for me. My coffee grinder had broken. He did the grind, but knew almost nothing about the products offered. I did not order any store-brewed coffee because he did not appear to be well acquainted with the grinder and seemed confused about the pour-over equipment and what choices were available. I came in the store for fresh roasted Ethiopian Yirgacheff beans and left with heaven in a bag. That is the sum total of the three stars. It is easy to see why the store was empty. It would attract a few tourists who could stumble over it or locals eager to search out a good local roast. The place was tiny with very limited drive-by and foot traffic or parking. A poor place to hope for a successful stop-in business. Apparently many people felt the hours and staffing were too irregular and the business too out of the way. The shop is now closed. I do mourn the loss of a good local roaster. Their shop in Fort Walton Beach is where the roasting is done, but it is a long way to drive for a good roasted single source bean. I was impressed with the lack of care and off-hand sloppy way the Pensacola shop was run. If a company is not going to put everything they have to run a satellite business then why waste time, resources, and money to do it at all. Wonder if the parent shop is like that? I have a grinder again. Online seems the best way to find good single-source beans. The few other roasters in Pensacola seem mostly to carry blends.

This is a quaint/small coffee shop that serves taro lattes and pour-overs(my kind of spot). The inside is decorated well with nice antique-ish furnishings. They have wifi, but it’s currently down as I type this. There are 7 one-person couches and 4TV stands if you need to do some work. I live near here so I’ll probably be back. It’s just too bad that it closes at 4:00PM everyday(closed on Mondays).

Tried to go to this location and was stoked but it was closed. Or at least the sign Was on the door Even though it claims to be open. This was a Sunday around twelve noon. not acceptable. Please post your ACTUAL hours of business. We were from out of town and prepared to sit and stay a while. Have heard good things but sadly cannot test it out.

Great coffee, but completely unreliable hours with regards to Sundays. I tried stopping in today(5⁄3) and they were closed, with a note on the door that was honestly undecipherable. I’ve stopped in on Sundays before, and this is the second Sunday they’ve been closed. Their Unilocal page even shows hours on Sunday, yet they were closed. They do make good coffee, but a place like this needs to be open on Sunday.

Let me first start by saying, I fully expect to give this place another shot when I’m in the area next. That said, I have to call it based on the experience I had. The young lady working the day I visited truly did her best. However, with a malfunctioning espresso machine(a substandard, home-use, stopgap replacement for another defective unit as I understand it) orders taken could not be fulfilled. What I was left with was a heavily caffeinated but semi-drinkable concoction that I only made an effort to drink because of how hard the barista worked to prepare it. Three stars is based more on effort and atmosphere than quality BUT that effort merits another look in the future.

I came here with a few friends because the other café we originally planned to go to was closed. Bishop’s Coffee and Tea is a small and cozy place. It’s a nice place to take a walk to hang out to. You can sit outside or stay inside. There’s WiFi as well. The only downside is the parking space available. The service is good. They accept credit cards. I’d definitely come back.

WiFi is managed and very slow at 2.01 mbps down/1.02 mbps up. I’m the only one here on a sleepy thursday morning, so this is probably as fast as it gets. Coffee is okay. Seating is VERY limited. Some cushy armchairs indoors with no tables. Two metal tables and okay chairs on the porch. Not an ideal place to study. There’s no music indoors, so everything you say can be heard by everyone inside. Because the place is so small, going to the bathroom is a little nerve racking with everything you do in there echoing through the whole shop. Embarrassing for all parties, so i’ll mention now if you’re shy about it. On the plus side, the muffins are homemade and still in their muffin tins. I’d rather go here than to starbucks for coffee, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here for coffee and especially not to study or relax with friends. Other than that, it’s a house that serves coffee.

Cute little café! It’s so nice to walk around downtown Pensacola and stop in for some tea or coffee. My boyfriend got me two teas from here that they custom blend… they’re great! Next time I’d definitely get one of their pastries they look delicious! The cranberry pumpkin bar is first on my list.

Very cute little café. The outside and the inside of the house are old but very nice preserved. There are only five seats — but they are very comfy and they make you not want to leave! The owner is very nice and chatty. As tourist, you can get some good tips on what to Do and what not. The selection is good and you can choose between different coffes which are then grinded freshly. For examaple one with a chocolate note or a blond roast with more caffeine. The coffe tasted really good! You can also select from a wid range of flavors. The sweets are awesome as well. I don’t know if homemade or not — but they taste fresh and very good.

Bishops coffee and tea has something for everyone. lattes, decaf, Sumatra, dark and light roast beans as well as gourmet chocolates. My favorite is the sea salt caramel. They have free wifi and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are under new management. So the employes are even more friendly than before. I enjoy the atmosphere.

What a great place. We have visited this shop 3 times since February. On our first visit we were just looking for a warm spot and a bathroom… We did end up purchasing some loose tea but were never made to feel like we had too. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our second visit was after I walked the April half marathon and I went especially for a reward for myself… the dark chocolate walnut and caramel cluster with sea salt… Oh my ! Oh my! HEAVENLY! Once again a wonderful visit with info on tango lessons shared. Today our third visit specifically for chocolate and tea but was once again treated to more special treats. Earl grey and lavender muffins, cubano expresso and chai tea. All fabulous and serves with such enthusiasm. Bishop such a pleasure to chat with and Ashley was sweet and knowledgeable. Such a great place. Drop by and visit whenever you want a special treat. Cindy Stone Foley Alabama

(See my other review for FWB location) We are coffee and tea people. Maybe even snob level. We were so excited to learn that our new duty station has a local coffee roaster. We had high hopes for this place. But it was such a disappointment. We gave them another chance hoping that maybe their espresso beverages were good. We went to the Pensacola location this time. Cute store and nice location. The«baristas» were nice. My husband got a regular latte with whole milk while I got an americano. You can’t screw up an americano, right? It’s just espresso and water. Wrong! It was bitter, almost sour, and barely hot. The latte my husband got was watery, luke warm, and the froth was minimal. He could barely taste the espresso. Also, I want to note that the«barista» didn’t even grind the beans to order at this location. She had this plastic bin of coffee grounds that had previously contained some type of food. I’m all for recycling, but that’s odd. Why not grind the beans when an order is placed? It just doesn’t make sense! You specialize in coffee! Fresh beans change the product quality. I don’t think there was even a grinder on the counter. The prices are outrageous for what you’re getting. Sure, the people are friendly. I appreciate that. I shouldn’t have to pay extra for nice employees. FYI: If you want to change your milk from whole milk to anything else, there is a fee. It’s not a reasonable fee, either. If memory serves me right, it was $ 1.00 to get a different milk. This includes skim milk or soy milk(not that I drink it, but Starbucks doesn’t even charge to substitute). I only drink almond or coconut milk, so I paid the difference. Not worth it. My husband’s input: «Hire real baristas that actually know what they’re doing, care about the products, and have a passion for it. Lower your prices. You are delusional to think your product is worth as much as you charge. We didn’t even pay that much in big cities like New York and Washington, DC, and the quality was much better there.»

Great little coffee shop in downtown Pensacola. The building it is housed in is historic and full of charm. The owner was really pleasant. The Cuban and regular coffees, as well as the chocolate pastries, were to die for. Stop by if you ever want to have a snack and/or drink coffee if you’re in or around historic Downtown Pensacola. I’m glad it opened in Dec. 2012! Support a business run by a minority! Come on, it’s better than Char-bucks!

New establishment! Only coffee place open afternoons on Sundays, downtown Pensacola. It has a very nice ambiance and offers patio tables. Great selection of fine coffee and teas and they even offer pastries, and chocolates. WIFI available(13.5 mbps download and 3.2 mbps upload)
