Went here for thanksgiving. I was more than happy with my food. Was like 12 bucks for all you can eat steak n shrimp. The steaks aren’t huge bout ½ to 1in thick n maybe 3 inches around. I had myself 2 steaks n some shrimp. I also had a bomb ass salad with steak strips in it. Def got my money’s worth, heck anywhere else my salad alone would have been more than 10 bucks. The rest of my family all had thanksgiving stuff. No1 complained. Can’t wait to go back here. One of my New favorite places to eat. 5 stars all day

We had a good meal here. The staff was very nice behind the bar. Our waitress was somewhat rude and never refilled our drinks. The other problem was that there were many children running around eating off the bar. One even took a marshmallow and stuck it in the chocolate fountain, he then ate it and threw his nasty stick onto the bar. There were signs posted allover the restaurant stating that children should be with their parents. Apparently some of the parents can’t read… since they don’t teach their children manners, why would anyone expect them to read signs.

Worst experience in a long time got my drinks and then there was no one there to cash out or seat us so I went and sat down went and got my plate and I came back and the server was handing holding my tray telling me I had to move and find somewhere else just said they were really busy and not happen to not have a lot of seating options

Eating to some can be an adventure of sorts. The food, circuses, the wine, the atmosphere and company can all enhance the simple pleasure of fine dining. But if you just want to eat… And I mean eat as in competition eating, these type places are your ticket. It’s a pay first deal, pony up around $ 14 with a drink, pick a seat, then try to eat your money’s worth and then some. Steak, seafood, Mexican, pasta, pizza, greens, taters, fixins, sides, desserts… it’s a never ending, mind boggling, gut busting display of all you can eat madness. Gluttony, perfected. There is no ceremony to stand upon here, dig in. Hair in curlers? Grandmas in her nighty? Bring her in, get to chowin’. It’s brightly lit, loud and crowded. There are servers who walk around and take care of your drink refills while you go for another plate of fried chicken, popcorn shrimp, steak and ham. And tacos. And jello. And Chinese. And holy frickin’ moo… The quality of the food is precisely what you would expect, and people watching is great, and if you were able to exceed your paid admission in food, tums are recommended. Good luck. Oh did I mention cotton candy and chocolate fountains and carrot cake and…

I have ate here a few times. The food is slightly above average buffet fare, so what can really make a place like this stand out is the staff. Last night I had the worst service I have ever seen here. Our waitress, Sharon, was rude, condescending, and less than helpful. It was as if my wife and I were an unpleasant chore that she had to get through instead of customers that simply wanted a nice dining experience. Normally, we tip pretty decently for service, but last night we were so disgusted that we left nothing. How much of a chore is it to have 2 tables in your section? Especially when all that was asked by the one table was a few drink refills and empty plate removal. Chances are good that this was our last time here.

it is nasty! all the tables were dirty! the only reason i’m giving 2 stars, instead of 1, is because of our server, victor.(golden corral should get 1 star, and victor should get 5)

We go here pretty often because it has something for everyone. That’s really the only redeeming thing about it though. There’s some good food and some that’s just decent. Most of the food isn’t good though. I also feel that it’s overpriced. If I go out to a restaurant and spend the same, I’ll have leftovers to take home. Here, you only get what you can eat. Not really worth the price paid. I’ve had much better at Ryan’s.

Since I am not a fan of buffets, I came in with low expectations with family members who really like this place. There were so many categories of food(Italian, Mexican, a lil Chinese, American, even a bread section) that I wasn’t able to sample everything I wanted. It was crowded and for the price, I think it’s a good deal, especially since you can get prime rib on some days. However, the rib was too rare for me, literally bloody in fact and too tough to cut with a knife. Most of the food was average. Some were too salty. They do have a big dessert selection, including a cool chocolate fountain, and soft serve and hand-packed ice cream. WORTHY of SECONDHELPINGS Deep fried shrimp(not the butterfly — overfried) Southern cabbage with ham bits New England clam chowder CRAVINGWORTHY cinnamon bread pudding Hush puppies I would not go here often, only with family. At least next time I can try the food I didn’t have room to eat this first time.

Gross. All of the food looked very unappealing so I got little bits of what looked safe. How can mash potatoes taste nasty?! The yeasty rolls were dripping with grease on the bottom. The spaghetti noodles were a greasy blob. Since we were on the road we went to use the bathroom, bad! There was a tampon applicator just hanging out on the toilet paper dispenser and diarrhea splatters all over the toilets. I pray that we don’t get food poisoning from the little I ate. However, the server was very nice!

Horrible. I know, it’s a buffet. But I’ve been to same buffets that were really good. At the corral, everything had the same cold bland taste. Will never go back, nothing worth eating

Brought my team during state track and field for junior high students, and phoned the manager a couple times to reserve an area. Very nice hostess, manager greeted and checked in with us multiple times, great waitress. Will be bringing my kids back again next year.

Man, I am having some issues with these negative reviews on here based on wait time and cost. 1. It is brand new. Everyone from the surrounding 100 miles has descended on this place at all times of the day. Seriously, if you drive up and can’t find a parking spot THEREWILLBE A WAIT! 2. Where have all these complainers been eating cheap buffets at? Hometown Buffet: $ 13.87 including drink & tax Golden Corral: $ 10.49 without drink, $ 13.75 with drink & tax Guess what, I went here and got water to drink and it was FREE! Yes it was packed and hard to maneuver but I guessed everyone was there for the same reason I was, to try out a new place in Peoria that sure smells delicious when you drive past on University. And was delicious-all the food was super fresh & steaming hot and there were tons of healthy selections of fish and baked chicken.(I had a steak, I just happened to also notice the healthy stuff! ;) If you don’t like this place, go on over to Hometown Buffet where you can pay 11 cents more to be told your drink«is included» Or learn math and figure out that when a restaurant«includes» a drink, they are including the cost in the price.

Went there on Saturday night around 8:00 p.m. Had to wait in line about 15 minutes. Niece had to go to the bathroom and I thought I had left enough money for three adults and 1 child and off we go to the bathroom. I left $ 40.00; not realizing drinks are extra so the bill came to just under $ 45.00. I feel for $ 10.49 drinks should be included — and you should not have to pay $.50 for a take home cup. Come on guys, it’s all you can eat food — what’s the big deal with the beverages? Food that I tasted was actually good — the fried chicken was excellent; the mashed and white gravy was as good as home. I was impressed with how fresh the lettuce was for a salad and the dressings were decent. The only thing I like on the dessert bar is the soft serve and hot fudge and hot caramel. It was a mad house to get to certain sections of the food because of the arrangement. You have to cut in line to get a fresh baked roll and that is where the dessert people are lining up. Might make sense to move the rolls closer to the actual hot food and not the dessert section. I would go back, but only when I find out drinks are included and you do not have to wait for drinks to get seated at a table. I think that is slowing things down a great deal and it really does not make sense. One other comment — there were a lot of staff standing behind one of the work stations visiting. Would make sense to me that they are circulating the floor and waiting on tables as needed. One young man walked around for ½ hour with a broom and dust pan and other than visit with co-workers, I never saw him use the broom and dust pan to do anything with it.

Here’s how the conversation went: Husband: «Hey, baby, wanna go out to dinner tomorrow night? I got free dinner at this new restaurant in town.» Me: [suspicious] «WHAT restaurant?» H: «… … Golden Corral.» M: «BABY. Baby, NO.» Despite all that, I tried to make the best of it. It’s hard to say how subsequent visits would compare to a pre-opening«sneak peek,» but I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. First, I was quite surprised that they were able to handle hundreds of guests in a timely fashion. It was a bit of a cattle call once you got into the buffet area, but for as crazy as it was, it was well organized and managed. The bigger surprise, though, was that the food was actually decent. There are a number of different buffet sections(salad, Mexican, Chinese, «steakhouse”/grill, Italian), and obviously I wasn’t able to try everything, but what I did have was pretty good. The salad bar was a high point for me, having four — count ‘em! four! — lettuce options, a wide variety of fresh toppings, and a nice selection of dressings. There are a lot of vegetable choices throughout the buffet, none of which suffered from under or overcooking(though steamed squash and red peppers just… isn’t a great dish). I wasn’t up for eating meat that night, but the chicken that our companions had looked fresh and crispy and smelled great, and even the steaks looked nice — medium rare, even! Holy crap! The one area I was disappointed in was the dessert buffet. I can’t really put my finger on what put me off about it, but it just didn’t work for me. Not for lack of variety — cobblers, pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, chocolate fountain, soft serve ice cream — but it was all just very… oh, yeah, prepackaged. It wasn’t really surprising, I guess, but everything tasted just a little bit artificial. Kind of makes sense, even, since they proudly display poster-size prints of their Carrot Cake«Recipe» in numerous locations, and the first ingredient is «carrot cake mix.» Oh, okay. ANYWAY. So yes, I’ll eat my crow. This was a totally okay dining experience. Will I be back? Absolutely not — it’s just not my scene. But if it’s your scene, or if you’re on the fence, by all means, check it out.
