Love this place. Dive bar with really good pizza. Meet some interesting characters for sure. Worth the visit for any adult.

Good food. Usually great friendly/attentive staff. Go earlier — the later you go the more weapons you might want to bring with you for protection from the late night patrons. Week nights mace should be fine. Weekends after midnight consider nunchucks and a tazer… possibly a rape whistle. Downtown Peoria… the best place to unleash your inner thug… especially at Hoops!

I frequently go to Peoria for business and for this current trip I stayed at Marriott Pere Marquette downtown Peoria. I was by myself so I didn’t want to eat at an expensive steakhouse so l looked out my 9th floor window and saw Hoops Pizza so I thought I would give it a shot. The place was packed for a Wednesday night which was a good sign so I sat at the bar. I ordered 2 slices of barbecue pizza and ended up drinking 2 beers. Service was great and the pizza arrived in about 10 minutes. Pizza was not greasy and had a great taste. The service was prompt and bar tenders were friendly. My bill came and the tab was only 8 $ for 2 slices and 2 beers. I would definitely return! Most likely tonight too. 2 thumbs up!

Hands down the best pizza in Peoria — and you can’t go wrong with the Italian beef, stromboli or calzone either. Oh, and half price Wednesday… The best deal around

A very tasty thin crust pizza. Fresh toppings, lots of cheese. I would have liked a little more sauce and softer crust, but I think this was a good pizza. Laid back place, great selection of beer and liquor.

Great staff, decent pizza by the slice. Drinks and pizza, at good prices. Not a place for parties or dancing.

Wherever I am I town I always make it a point to stop by Hoops for their amazing Stromboli. It’s definitely not what you think of when it comes to cuisine known for in central Illinois. Homemade dough filled with cheese, pepperoni, ham, onion and green paper… all I can say is I wish we had this up north!

This review is only for the pub portion, but when the server walked by with pizza slices they did look good. The bar service is fast and friendly, and the pours are healthy. The bar has daily specials, Tuesday was $ 7 domestic pitchers. The atmosphere is friendly, and music isn’t overwhelming.

Great Place to Drink and have some really good bar pizza. The sell the whole pie or by the slice which is great. White garlic sauce chicken is my favorite.

I was surprised at how good the pizza was. Soft crust w a little crunch. Small amount of sauce(i like that). Their website wasn’t helpful at the time-It was not working while we were trying to look at the menu on our phones– and the staff had no idea. I will definitely suggest this place to others.

You’re drinking or drunk and you want food in desolate place… You go to Hoops. The 4 stars is based solely on the fact that you go to this place and eat this food when your drinking, drunk or desperate to eat(kitchen open till 4am). Good service. Bar pizza better than most that I’ve had before. Good spot for Sunday snack — many restaurants are closed on Sunday’s in and around this town. You can buy pizza by the slice. Enough said for this spot…

Good pizza, but slices too expensive. Better off buying a small pizza. Also wish they’d change draft beer selection. Need a premium Pilsner style lager like Stella. Only think they have is Miller Light and Bud Light. Ditch the Sam Adams winter lager and add a premium Pilsner Lager.

Overall we were pretty satisfied with the pizza. Beer was moderately priced as well. Millie, our server/bartender was great! It looks a bit scary to walk into but well worth it! We’d def go back!

Hoop’s is compulsory. It’s like an itch… you have to scratch it. The point is, did someone actually plan this place… was this a vision or a mistake? Either way, when I’m in town… I’ll stop… because I have to. Hoop’s is a downtown dive bar, It’s not a Pub and not even a stretch of the imagination of a Sports Bar! The storefront sign is misleadingly brilliant! It’s a dark void even in the light of day. The female bartenders are tall, talkative and seemingly professional. The staff that prepares the pizza are sketchy, creepy and lurk in the dark background silently until they have to get off their ass and do something! You can order a pizza slice that is «made to order». My sausage, black olive & onion ingredients are never evenly distributed… Never! The cheese quality is «real» however barely melted to ooze like lava on the platter. The fact is that quality control is not a consideration. The star of the show here is the unique«pizza oven», not the cooks nor the pizza itself. I’m only here for a beer, a slice of pizza and to blend into the surroundings to observe. When I’m in town… I’ll stop, because I have to.

Hoops pizza is extremely greasy and cheaply made. Amazing if intoxicated but lackluster if sober. Great for a late night slice before that cab home though.

Well, this seems to have become my de facto«go to» bar downtown during the week. I didn’t really mean it to, it kind of just crept up on me. This is partly due to the apparent fact that the vast majority of places downtown seem to fall in to four broad categories; too pricey, closed when I am around, closed for good, or Hoops Pizza & Pub. So, I find myself here again! The place has a real nice dive bar feel to it with a nice mix of patrons, including the obligatory«been going here for years» regulars that will continuously talk to you whether you talk back or not. The wait staff has always been great and really friendly. There are always drink/food specials going on and even though the place is fairly small, they have managed to cram a full sized pizza oven in to the place that pumps out a really nice Calzone! Food is good, prices are fair, there is a surprisingly wide selection of beers & liquors to choose from. If you are in the area, I recommend you stop in and check it out.

This little gem was right across the street from our hotel, so thought why not… we wanted some pizza… the reviews were raving about the pizza… so we went! So glad we did… the service was great, the pizza was beyond delicious, the crust was made with some TLC and the price was extremely affordable, it was also during a 2 for 1. BONUS… they have Woodchuck beer!

Here on a Monday night, really low key place, enough seating for a small group. To the food — had a slice of meaty and a slice of the works(no onions). Great thinner crust, crispy, very good flavor. You need to like a lot of cheese and a little light on the sauce(I like both of these), and you can’t go wrong! Staff — friendly and attentive enough that you don’t wait long for a beer, napkin, whatever. Would definitely come back and highly recommend for anyone looking for a slice and a beer

Really good pizza. Staff is pretty good as well. Down side is if you go on a Fri or Sat some of the people from neighboring bars spill over and come harass the customers while they eat.

Service was great. Pizza was just ok: too much cheese and not enough tomato flavor. Super oily! So oily you could put a towel on it and then wring the oil out by the gallon. gross. full menu till 4am makes it a convenient late night stop if you are desperate for food.
