The shrimp soft tacos were amazing!!! They screwed up my order to start but were gracious to make things right with a smile on their face! Be prepared to walk out of there smelling like your dinner though!!!

I met some friends at Los Jimadores for an early dinner last night. Before one of my friends ordered her margarita, the server brought her the cutest little sample margarita to help her decide! We all got mango strawberry frozen margarita, which was amazing! I got the fajita quesadilla. It was HUGE, all the veggies and meat were perfectly cooked, and best of all, it was filled with a LOT of cheese! It came with rice and beans, sour cream, and very fresh guacamole! I was so full, I still have more than half of the quesadilla left! The service was great, though there was some confusion because more than one server was helping us. I live about a block away and will definitely be going back!

Good funny and friendly staff, I’ll like to think that these guys are the only authentic Mexican food around because let’s face it, what kind of Mexican food establishment doesn’t serve horchata? Only down side is they charged by card for someone else’s meal…40 dollars worth… The lady ”D” said she would refund my money and never did.

This place is a joke. I am here alone eating lunch and have been here for almost an hour. My food came out cold and I have been waiting for 15 – 20 min for a check. Don’t wast your time. The service is horrible.

Los Jimadores use to be go-to Mexican restaurant when I lived in the Peoria area. I went there recently and was reminded why I enjoyed going there. I ordered the enchilada suiza. They have best version I have had in Central IL. Even my go-to place in Bloomington does not make an enchilada suiza this good. I always enjoyed the décor. The black lights and the paintings on the wall makes the dining area unique. The service had never been particularly great. The interesting thing is you may have different waiters come to your table to take your order while you are looking over the menu.

I have been here numerous times. Is it fantastic? no. is it better than taco bell? I think so. heres what I like… the salsa and chips, queso fundido, chile pablanos. heres what I dont like… everything comes with bland spanish rice and refried beans. maybe its a mexican thing, and its not a deal breaker. Once, I ordered a burrito, or something, with shredded beef, it was pretty bad. it reminded me of the roast beef in a can. it was tough. I stick to the ground beef option now. the staff has never been rude, but I wouldnt say they’ve been friendly.

I was ok with this place. Very nice art and food was ok. But then my sister found a fly in her salad and we told our waiter and he didn’t even apologize or take her plate. He laughed and said it was extra vitamin. He had the nerve to charge it!!! We have never gone back. I prefer Los Cabos.

It was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. On top of that the service was pathetic. The food was bland. Me, my girlfriend and one another friend, we ordered veggie enchilladas, bean burritos, veggie tostada and shrimp burracho. There was no flavor in any dish. It didn’t even feel fresh. Also, they DIDNOTGIVESOURCREAM with any dish, we had to ask for it for additional cost. The sauce tasted like canned totmato purée. Enchilladas were cold and without any sauce, it was plain cheese and tortilla. For a burrito, I asked to add veggies, didn’t give me any. She asked if we want separate bills in the beginning and we said YES, in the end she came with one single bill. They gave no tissues and so I walked to the counter to get additional tissues because no one was coming to the table. The waitress saw me moving towards the counter to get tissue and even then she didn’t bother to come. It’s a total waste of money! Oh and did I mention, the drinks were right out from the refrigerator. I don’t know if it happens at other places as well but it was weird for me.

Went here for dinner. Husband had the enchiladas with beans and rice on the side. He said everything tastes like it was right out of a can. I had the chori pollo and the Chechen was good, the beans were really bland. The salsa and chips were good though

Big portion sizes! Service was a little slow but you could see the wait staff was spread thin and hustling, so no big deal. I thought the chips and salsa were just ok but the chicken was very well seasoned/marinated. The waiter did bring our check with two complimentary tequila shots — not sure if he saw on my ID that a birthday was very soon or what, but either way a thoughtful gesture!

Worth the 25 minute drive everytime a craving strikes. The portion sizes are very large, the salsa is fresh and very good, and the food has bold, authentic, flavors. They will also sell large amounts of tacos if you are serving a group. The service is very friendly. There have been occasional mistakes and some difficulty giving special instructions because of the language barrier. I don’t mind so much, since they are VERY quick to make corrections, and provide good, and fast, service. They are VERY busy, and we like a lot of extras, like tomatillo sauce, lime, extra sour cream, etc… so we are also, what you can call, more needy than your average customer. They are happy to oblige to customizing your dish to you liking(ex: no shrimp, extra pork). This place is still at the top of my list for best local Mexican cuisine. You won’t be disappointed, you’ll go home with leftovers, and crave it again next week.

Not only was it super slow but they forgot to put our order in. I watched as several people that were seated after finish their food and leave before we even received ours. Extremely poor service and attitude.

As a Mexican, this place is awesome, nice home made taste. I think my enmoladas were a little bit under seasoned but tasted good. The tamales are awesome. And the salsa they give you with the chips it is just awesome fresh made salsa(no spicy at all). I definitely will go back.

This place recently opened in Campustown and I’m glad it did! The service was excellent. I ordered mine to go, but look forward to going back and enjoying a few margaritas and good food with friends. They included chips and salsa with my to go order, which was really nice and unexpected. For the price, the value can’t be beat. The menu has a great selection.

Love this place. I really don’t understand the bad reviews. I have been here numerous times and have never been disappointed. I have gone for lunch and dinner. I think they are priced low and are generous with the chips and drink refills. The service is super fast and I have been able to go on a lunch hour. Def a good bang for your buck.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Great service and very good food. The staff was very efficient and our food arrived in a very timely manner for a Friday night. I would definitely recommend this place. We are from out of town and before we leave I will definitely be returning.

The quest for a good Mexican restaurant in Peoria still remains… Taco Bell is a better value and trust me, I’m ashamed to say that. Our bill with tip was $ 38. We had the chili Rellenos appetizer, the enchilada combo(with all 5 enchilada types) and the chicken chimichanga(and 3 beers) between the two of us. The food was bland other than how salty the meat was in the three enchiladas that actually had meat. And I would be ashamed to even call the chili Rellenos, chili rellenos. I feel bad so I would like to make one positive comment… the salsa was very good and tasted fresh. Ugg… sorry. That’s the only good thing I could say. We won’t go again.

Very good Mexican food at a very reasonable price. The blacklight paintings are an interesting touch. The last time I was there you could choose from several lunch specials for only $ 3.99, which of course includes chips and salsa.
