The food is solid. But twice in a row they’ve shorted me a large side of fries. They also have a tendency to only fill the haystack onions halfway full. Check your bags before you leave, is all I can say.

Don’t get me wrong… we love Smashbuger! Our family thinks the BURGERS are the best in town, but their SIDES are HORRIFIC! We’ve never had a thing that was remotely edible. Tonight, because I had a coupon for a free side I thought I’d give them one more try. Well, the husband comes home and says the house stinks… it was the fried pickles! I tried the usual few and spilled the rest onto a napkin(thinking I could drain some of the grease off) and at the bottom of the container was a almost a ¼″ of dark brown grease! The remaining pickles were LADEN in grease! NEVER, EVER, I REPEAT, EVEREATTHESIDES… the fries, the fried pickles, the onion rings, any of them! YUCK-O!

This is my second visit to Smash Burger and most likely my last. I remember I went when they first opened but I don’t remember how I felt about the burgers. After tasting my BBQ bacon burger i realize now that I may have not remembered what I felt about the first time I visited because it’s nothing special. The burger is kind of dry and has a bland taste and there was barely any BBQ sauce on the burger. The side of onion rings were very salty. I paid 9.46 for a regular size burger and one side(no drink).

If your expecting the best burger in the world this is not it, but the food is good and there burgers are worth trying out.

Not a bad burger joint. Been wanting to try them out to round out my review of the new«fast food gourmet» places. I decided to build my own burger. Got a regular(vs big), on a pretzel bun, smash sauce, lettuce, grilled onions, pickles, and a few other toppings. Also aged swiss cheese. My hubby got one of the preset ones. We shared a regular side of smash fries, with olive oil, garlic and rosemary. Burger pros: kudos on the use of romaine lettuce vs hunk of iceberg. Smash sauce is tasty. Choices of so many toppings is great. Pretzle bun is also a great and often overlooked addition. Cons: well cooked patty. Could go a little lighter to keep more of the flavor. Fries: Good flavor but still not a fan of such a thin cut. This of course is more preference then anything. Over all a good product. I enjoyed the burger on par with Five Guys and Shake Shack and better than M Burger, but much prefer a thicker cut fry. It’s not true gourmet, but still decent. Could push out with a grass fed beef option(but please don’t overcook!).

Well, the first time I visited Smashburger was glorious. It was also right after they had opened and had all of their crew full of energy and enthusiasm and peppy customer service. That type of vibe does not exist at Smashburger any longer. I was placing our order and the person taking it didn’t even make eye contact. The customer service mirrored the food. It looked sloppy and not at all uniform. Disappointing change in this location in just 2 years time.

Well, let me first say I really like Smashburger and I have been to this store multiple times, but each time it seems to be a little less desirable. Ordering is fast, the food is good, but the store cleanliness needs attention. Why would there be eight empty dirty tables at 12:15PM? It can be pricey for fast food, but I like the fries.

A good burger yes. A «better» burger(a la the better burger movement), I don’t think so. Five Guys is the definition of the group. Smashburger doesn’t measure up. First, the good. The smash sauce is good, basically mayo and pickle juice. I like that they offer milk shakes and beer, two things that go well with burgers. The menu selection is impressive. You can get additions to your burger and/or fries that are pretty creative. The setting is nice. You don’t feel rushed. It’s not a place, perhaps, for a meeting, but it is comfortable and relaxed. The unimpressive: While the variety of burgers is good, you have to be able to get the basics right before branching out. The meat here is pretty basic., probably an 80⁄20 chuck. I’m not sure, but the flavor of its beef is not anything special. Second, the burger didn’t look«smashed» at all! There was no crustiness from searing on the high heat. Its shape looked kinda like Hardees. Tasted about the same too. Steak n shake and Culvers are smashed patties(even though its greasiness of the former makes it basically unacceptable). This is not. In fact, it could use more fat because it was pretty dry. The fries are no different than steak n shake. They are fairly tasteless as is. They are shoestring, which is fine, but boring. Five guys has a moist sandwich, not one moistened by condiments. They have flavorful fries, not ones that need seasoning to hide their mediocrity. Smashburger is a better presentation of Hardees and Steak n Shake combined. It is not unique. I’m not sure it is better than anything else. It certainly doesn’t give me my burger fix. And given the price, I would spring for almost any other joint for a better cost/quality ratio.

You don’t know a good burger until you have tried smashburger. Great buns great toppings all around. Smash fries kick butt and there is beer. Win win win.

I got a club burger with bacon, avocado and tomato, which was pretty good, no complaints there. But the veggie frites… I got them figuring they’d be healthier than fries, but MAN they were greasy! I used at least a half-dozen napkins trying to soak up the excess oil they flash-fried them in. Seems like something they should have done in the kitchen prior to serving. Had a bit of a stomachache all afternoon. I’ll definitely never order those things again. I’d consider going back for a burger, but Five Guys is way better.

Got a bbq cheese burger and sweet potato fries. The guy who took my order, Anthony, was very nice, explained the menu, really great. Short wait and was really looking forward to relaxing with my treat dinner. But, the onion sticks, stack, whatever they are called, were not on the burger. That was really disappointing. They would have upped this rating significantly. That is just unacceptable. And there wasn’t a rush to blame it on, it was just me, one burger. So, the sweet potato fries are about 50 cents more than the regular fries. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the container was only half full. Wow, A great disappointment.

I have mixed feelings about SmashBurger. There was nothing wrong with the food that I had. I want to actually taste the burger instead of hiding it under lots of toppings. I opted for only ketchup and mustard, and chose the whole grain bun(which, by the way, is good). I also had the standard fries. It was a decent meal. Not knock-your-socks-off delicious, though – just average. So, here’s my issue: the price. I had a one-patty plain burger, regular fries and a regular iced tea. It was $ 10. To me, that is a little pricey for what I received. There are no meal packages here — everything is a la carte. The plain Jane burger alone was $ 5, which I think is slightly unjustifiable. I can get a burger platter at a nice sit-down joint for that money, and better ambiance. I could understand if the food was so awesome that I’d be solely craving it, but I just can’t see that happening. To me, it was no more appealing than any other fast food burger, albeit at twice the price.

I love the smash fries, I practically want to gnaw my own arm off as I drive home! Service has always been friendly and prompt as well.

Best burger in the area. Period. Granted they are a bit more than your average burger but not out of line with the premium offerings at places like Culver’s. I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Swiss and I have to say that I’ve got my new favorite meal. The meat was moist yet lean and the flavor was excellent! I’ve been to Smashburger numerous times since they’ve opened and the service has been very good every time. If you’re looking for a prime hamburger this is it.

Went here on a buy 1 get 1 free deal. Glad I didn’t pay full price for both as they just don’t offer anything that special for the price and burgers were greasy. Small place, so not many seats to dine-in. Sorry, won’t be back.

Smash Burger is a Burger Concept joint that is centered around the«Smash» done to the burgers from their original shape into the final product during cooking. The notion is to «Seal in the juices», which as is explained by others and many food geeks know is a flat out lie. But I digress. The company does offer a menu with more variety and panache than say Five Guys. Where other companies are shooting for simplicity, SmashBurger is offering a range of options such as bread types, toppings available for free, and for $ 1 extra. Burgers come in regular or big size. So, what did I like: Pro’s 1) Bread — Pretzel, Egg, Multi –Grain, and Spicy Chipotle — I am a fan of that pretzel bun, great consistency. 2) Toppings — Lots of variety such as a fried egg, jalapeños, and their smash sauce. 3) Fries — They offer a spin on the classic thin french fry by tossing them in olive oil nd rosemary. These Smash Fries could be ordered solo and eaten without anything added. They also have sweet potato fries, which while ok did were not as good as smash fries. Con’s 1) Price — Pricier than Five Guys, you could easily rack up a $ 25 tab for two. Pay attention to what you order. In addition their drink selections are not cheap if not from the fountain. A Bottle of Grape Fanta will set you back $ 2.61. 2) Service — The last two times I went the service was slower than usual. Oddly enough service is slower during the off periods I prefer to go there. 3) Consistency — My first several visits went off without a hitch and were perfectly executed. But the last two visits have been off. Smash fries were poorly coated, had to return the burgers both times for errors in prep/wrong order. This hopefully is something they can turn around quickly. Overall, I would prefer to give them a 3.5 but they could earn a four by getting back on track with regard to service and product consistency. In short, I can live with the price, but I should get the service and product the price commands as well.

There is not a rating low enough for this restaurant. They were not that busy, especially for a Saturday night. But still, I had to wait almost 30 mins for my food. I ordered a shake(over $ 4 for a 16 oz), the girl at the counter made it, and there is sat! on the counter melting. Another girl asked her about it, the 1st girl shrugged and the 2nd girl took it to the back. 3 people that came in after us were served their food before us. The condiments were wrong on my husbands burger. The fries were old and cold, and too heavily seasoned, and I am not sure how you can get smaller than shoestring fries but they accomplished just that. I can go to steak n shake and get the same burger for less. same taste, same condiments. Save your money! 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 1 milkshake = $ 26.00

Not a bad burger but I felt it was a bit pricey for what you get. The interior of the place is quite loud once you get a few people in there. Not really a place to go and chit chat while you eat. I really enjoyed the garlic rosemary fries. The seasoning was done right, not too heavy and not too light. I would eat here again when looking for something besides regular fast food.

Very busy, since they just opened up. My burger was very good. There were a few fries that weren’t quite cooked, but the rest was good– could be great. Will definitely go again.
