Buffalo Billiards

Lived here for about 5 years now and don’t know why I didn’t check this place out sooner. Huge inside! Nice tables, cold beer and friendly and pretty staff. A lot of tools at Petaluma bars though… It’s a shame cause the bars are good times up here but I feel like if I bring my friends from outta town some guy in a Tapout shirt is gonna start shit.

Being the only established pool hall in the Petaluma/​Santa Rosa area, it doesn’t leave me with a lot of options. That said, this place is still top notch in terms of billiard equipment and environment.
The Pros:
Staff: Friendly staff, always smiling and helpful when you need a drink or any food.
Food: Food is okay for a pool hall, if you don’t feel like exploring other parts of DT petaluma after 10 p.m., this is not a bad place to eat between pool sessions.
Players/​Action: A lot of regular players, both in-​house and BCA league/​tournaments take place almost every night of the week. You can always find some action here if you want, plenty of people who want to have some fun.
Others: This joint also has table tennis tables, dart boards (I believe they have a dart league as well), coin-​operated pool tables (Diamond tables too), one carom table and an equipment shop in the back.
Leagues are helpful for all levels of players, they offer a variety of leagues and tournaments.
Bar/​Social: Sports on projector screen and multiple TVs, good for social and watch the Giants/​49ers
The Cons:
NO AC, it’ll be hot and humid during the evening hours. A cold beer or 8 might help you cool down a bit, but as far as I know, AC is operational just not on.
While tables are nice and well maintained, I feel like there is still room for improvement. I believe the tables are brushed before closing, but would suggest brushing them one more time at 5 or 6 p. m before more customers come in after work. Granted I have higher standards on these things since I have been spoiled by Hardtimes Billiards and Family Billiards, etc. Every time I play here my hands get dirty fast due to the combination of humidity and dusty felt, I find myself washing my hands quite often.
This place also attract some weird people around town at times. Drunks are obvious, but sometimes people who are just plain odd/​cray, however being from San Francisco I have seen my fair share of unconventional personalities, so it isn’t too bad for me personally.
Overall not bad for the only real pool hall in Santa Rosa/​Petaluma, I am glad I found this place and would recommend Buffalo Billiards to all levels of players!

Took my wife and kids for a few games of pool. Nice clean family fun and atmosphere. I’ll go back again.

I took a girl here on Friday night and we had a really good time. Played darts, pool and ping pong. Met some cool people and all in all had a great experience. The only reason I did not give five stars… We had to wait at the counter for a loooong time when we wanted a drink or to switch games. There was always multiple people waiting at the bar or register and only one girl behind the bar. Definitely need at least one more bar tender. Still highly recommended.

The counter girl is awesome. So friendly and helpful, definitely patient too. This place is huge. I like how many pool tables there is, so even when it’s busy it’s not packed. They also have ping pong, foosball, pinball, air hockey and darts. There’s a lot of chairs and small tables, so if you’re not playing you can sit back. The chalk table you can sit and write at is fun too. Love it!

I go here with some amazing friends and Jennifer is so kind fun funny hot and amazing this is such a great place. Thanks Jen you make it fun every time I’m there

About once a week a whole crew of us go in and play ping pong and pool and play music and dance and get rowdy and have fun! Your girl Jen that works there handles us like a pro, she’s fun, light spirited and a pleasure to interact with! Thank you Buffalo Billiards for being a chill and fun environment for us to hang and let loose!

I was out here on vacation late September. Stumbles upon this place and since there didn’t seem to be much to do late at night in Petaluma we went in.
It is officially my favorite pool hall, not at all dingy with plenty of pool tables and plenty of room between them. The crowd is alright. They did have a bunch towards the back that made me a bit uneasy but we just continues with our game.
It was a good night and the beer selection was cool too.

Lee, the owner is such a funny nice guy! All the staff is very helpful and friendly. All the pool tables are really well kept up and the beer specials are good!

There are better pool! We must find the signal Billiards, Owner very friendly and always start coming forward with pro objective Billiards pool. Provided that supports! I love it. I started leagues and tournaments.

Jennifer is AWESOME! I just love her upbeat personality and how she goes out of her way to make sure everyone is having a good time!
As far as the new manager goes, well I think he is an a$$!! Very rude to the girls working there and not friendly to the patrons at all!

Got two good beers for under $ 10 and an hour of free pool with the check in — good stuff!

I drove there from San Francisco because I was looking for a Viking cue and they were a dealer. When I got there they didn’t have what I looked for. Lee showed me the rest of their inventory and gave me a great deal on a Pechauer cue so that I wouldn’t leave empty handed. The staff is really knowledgeable and polite. Lee was very patient and answered all my questions. I am a happy customer.

Must admit I was a bit skeptical after reading their reviews on here, but they are the only real option to have a pool table worked on. I have a 3 piece slate table that needed to be assembled in my home so I reached out and gave them my business. My wife was home working while they showed up on time and did an excellent job. My wife said the older and younger men were VERY professional, polite and clean. I got home and wasn’t sure I’d like what I saw, I was VERY pleased and really enjoy playing on the table they assembled for me!
Would highly recommend them!

major weakness in the pro shop. nobody there. even after i called to see what time they were open till. i’m not even gonna capitalize the beginning of my sentences. the nephew from the pool hall picked up the fumble though, and helped me. the stuff from the RP store looked like it was just dumped there. not impressive.i need new tips for my cues now. i dread going all the way back to petaluma. maybe nobody will be there

Good local place for pool and relaxing at the Bar with a beer. They are process of updating place with newer tables.

Great supplies and cool old stuff — I’m talking the perfect one-​of-​a-​kind relics and antiques that make a great pool room great. Not just «off the shelf supplies» but rare stuff that no one else will have.

It’s sad that I had to drive all the way up here since it was the nearest billiards supply shop that had a large selection to chose from, but it was definitely worth it. I wanted to buy a particular shaft for one of my cue sticks and they had it in stock over here. The guy who was there was very helpful and told me a little about his experience with billiards. Friendly person and excellent customer service. He definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to billiards.
