First time at Cattlemens but definitely won’t be my last. It’s a little pricey but the portions are very generous + every entrée comes with all you can eat salad and sourdough bread. Our waitress was Victoria and she was great; professional, checked in on us, made recommendations and always had a smile on her face. #happycustomer

Me and my husband are out for our Valentine’s dinner and our service SUCKS! This just reaffirmed that the service here at the Petaluma Cattlemens is the WORST ever!!! We have not come here in a while bc the service it’s so bad Everytime we come!!! Our waitress will be getting $ 1.00 tip. It is Completely the lack of her experience and the fact that management put her out on one of the busiest holidays by herself only after 3 days!!! TOTALLYUNACCEPTABLE!!! I wouldn’t even give it a star but i have to

We usually go here for our steak craving but on a weekday. Unfortunately last night I saw a different side of cattlemens they are unable to handle a huge amount of people sadly! I had reservations waited 15 to 20 mins. Before I got seated not a big deal. waited for our food, took about 45 mins. Stayed positive but When our steaks arrived not exactly how we wanted it cooked it just ruined my night. I know it was busy but it is not an excuse for the food quality or good service to not be on point. I spoke to the manager and made sure my opinion gets heard I didn’t ask for any comps. Or freebies I just wanted to remind them why I always go back to their restaurant.

Better then Santa Rosa Cattlemen’s as far a wait time. The seating is weird and dark. good service and great food.

Last night we had an amazing experience at this cattlemens. We had a huge party for my birthday party, not only was this location very accommodating, especially after adding some last minute seats, but we had an amazing server. Our server was Wayne, and his helper Dominic, were amazing! Wayne paid attention to every detail making sure we were taken care of. From paying attention to someone with a nut allergy, to making sure the birthday girl was taken care of. He was a great server and I look forward to the next time I go back and get him as a server.

My friend and i went there saturday we had reservations and still waited a half hour then the sirloin i got i asked for medium it was inedibly bloody so i asked her to cook it to medium and it comes back burned and tasted horrible so i sent it back and left still hungry. These people need a management meet post haste for treating customers so shabby.

I’ve been going here since I can remember! Love the food. A bit pricey but worth it for the amount of food they give you. Our server, Tad, was awesome. Genuinely concerned about the quality of food and service we were getting. A great experience, as always!

Let me start off by saying get the prime rib is is excellent get both the creamy horseradish and the grated mix them and dip your prime rib in that goodness. Man was it good I got the 16oz. Cut and my wife got the 12oz. Wait staff was great really attentive and Drinks came as needed. Dessert was the cow pie brownie sundae that was really good also. All around a great dinner

I love my experiences at the Santa Rosa location, the Dixon location, and the Rancho Cordova location. However, as hard as this location may try, every instance of my ordering the Beef Back Ribs have come out dry, stringy, and stale. I almost thought they were reheating leftover ribs from the night before. This is after I placed a request in with the waitress to make sure the sous chefs in the back would please be careful and not dry out my ribs. WRONG. My ribs came out dry as jerky and I was sorely disappointed. After putting in a complaint via their website, I received a message from a manager who stated they were going to do something about my previous last two visits and I never heard from him. Let’s just say I’ve never returned to this location because the Santa Rosa location has never delivered stale/dry beef back ribs to me.

Always a great place to stop for a chopped steak or porterhouse along with a drink or two. Been coming here for years, and do not see myself stopping anytime soon. Never had a bad experience here.

Buckle up for a lot of food and possibly some acne… I’ve been here a bunch of times on dates, with friends, with family. It’s a good spot to bring family from out of town and give them a general idea of the country bit of Petaluma. The restaurant has always been busy every single time I have gone here. I don’t remember ever having to wait too long to be seated and they have a great bar you can sit in while you wait. The staff is generally pretty friendly and pretty good at getting your refills when you need them and checking up on you the perfect amount. Now the food… Some of the food is delicious. The meats are cooked very well but they did not allow me to get a rare steak. The best the cook would do was medium rare and then when I got the steak it was closer to medium well. Kind of a bummer because for a fine piece of meat I want to actually taste it and that flavor goes away when the pink goes away. I say some of the food is delicious and I’m lying a little bit. Almost all the food is delicious but if you get anything fried be prepared to have a pile of grease. Everything in this place is greasy and it’s good for a few bites but by the time you’re driving home you’re going to start feeling a little terrible and kind of sick. Overall it’s a good steak house. I don’t think they should have a cook that won’t cook medium steaks though, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.

The food is good and the people friendly. My fiancée and I just got engaged there and we had our meal free and the receipt said getting married. It was a great night and a sweet gesture.

Been here 4 times and all were good! I enjoy the shrimp and steak dish a lot… Just enough of both. You get your choice of dressings on endless salad. Good selection of beer and fun drinks. Our server, Tim, was great. Twice backed potato was tasty. Will be back. A lot of food, no room for dessert.

Loved it. Tonight was the first time I’ve ever eaten at a Cattlemens and I loved it. First, the service was fantastic. Our server Tad was so genuine, so sincere, it was refreshing to talk to a friendly server. We met the General Manager and the Assistant Manager, too. Both very kind and a pleasure to talk to. Now the food. Orgasmic. Ladies, orgasmic. My fiancé and I shared the Steak and Lobster and it was sooooo good. The steak was juicy, didn’t even need the sauce it came with. And the lobster tail was huge! Filling. We enjoyed ourselves here. Although we’re from out of town and come but once a year, we’ll be back.

Went there the other night for a family/birthday get together. There was 10 of us. Seated promptly, pretty good service, warm bread on he table was nice. The Mojito was good also Steaks and ribs around the table. food was nice and hot, good portion sizes, tasted very good. Comp desserts were brought out for the 2 birthday folks, along with the cowboy hats of course. The place was jumping, it was a Thursday night and it was packed, didn’t affect the service though, everything came out at a good pace. Was an enjoyable evening Thumbs up

Let me just start by setting expectations right! If you are looking for a fancy place to dine, this is not it. However, if you enjoy basic steaks and other grilled meat done right then you’re on the right track. The appetizers are basic but done right. We enjoyed the Artichoke Cheese Dip and Honey-Chipotle Grilled Corn for starters. They both were tasty, but the corn was from local farms and done just right. The salad was basic, but fresh and crunchy. The beer was very cold(big plus for me) and with just the right amount of fizz in it! But let me tell you about«The Sheriff»! This thing is a 2 lbs piece of sirloin that can make your mouth water with every bite! Order it medium rare or medium at most and make sure you have one or two people with you to share it with! The service was good. Our server, a young lady named Nancy, was very attentive and friendly. The only complaint I had was that the steak arrived way too early, before we were done with the appetizer. But that is easy to handle, just ask them to hold it until you are ready.

Pros: courteous non-waitstaff; hot sourdough bread; great meat, cooked properly(this is important for my beloved, who likes his steak well-done). Cons: waitstaff who push upsell items(appetizers, alcohol, dessert) far too tenaciously(when we dined recently and declined all of these items, the server’s attitude changed from warm and engaging to downright frosty – not pleasant); LOUD – not just from the customers in the dining area, but from the kitchen; styrofoam takeout containers(c’mon, folks – get something a little more Earth-friendly). If you’re throwing a birthday party for a dozen carnivores, this may be perfect place for you. We’ve concluded that in the future, we’ll order from the take-out menu.

We went to Cattlemen’s Friday night to eat in the bar & watch the World Series mainly because I received an email saying to come watch the game, have discounted drinks & appetizers. The food was phenomenal… lamp lollipops, tri tip tacos, loaded baked potatoes, crisp green salad, warm sourdough bread, drinks & dessert! The service was his, had 2 different waiters, the second one was very attentive. Here is my only grip… if you’re going to send out emails to tell people to watch the World Series in your bar you might want to have the volume up on the big screen TV so everyone can hear it! The music they were playing was overpowering the very low volume TV! Events like this if you advertise to come & watch then turn the volume up, I mean I don’t want to watch Buster Posey up at bat with music blaring over head! Other than not being able to hear the World Series over the music playing, the food & service were great! That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
