This is the place, after trying everything local, whose pizza we like the best. It has the feel of a proper corner pizza place, to this ex-NYer, and the food has the right combo of East Coast tradition and California freshness.

The pizza is as great as any great pizza I’ve had in New York City and the tristate area. Rafy has a great recipe and offers a wide variety of options on his menu. The service is friendly and everyone is attentive — from Rafy on down to the young man and woman working behind the register and waiting tables. Another plus is that the portions for the garlic knots and salad we had were generous. A great place to eat pizza, salads, and sandwiches if you’re in the Petaluma area — go see for yourself!

A solid option for gluten free pizza on-the-go! We got back to Petaluma late after a long day in Point Reyes and wanted a bite to eat before bed. I actually preferred the gluten free crust to the regular crust because it was a little crispier and crunchier. Either way, a classic pizza with pepperoni and sausage(chopped small — loved it) will never steer you wrong. The margarita was delicious too and the portions are mighty. We both had leftovers. So if you can manage sharing a pizza as a duo, you can do that to save a few bucks. But two pizzas ~$ 12 each isn’t half bad either. I liked the tomato sauce — a touch of heat, well balanced, not too sweet. You have the option to build your own pizza, but they have a lot of specialty options that make it super easy to find something that fits the bill. Worth a stop if you’re craving pizza and have a gluten intolerance. The GF crust was yummy!

Delicious!!! Great pizza. Tasty garlic knots too. Service was excellent as well. Young man behind the counter is probably the most polite and respectful person working at any restaurant in Petaluma. Made the visit that much better!

I came here last weekend for my friend’s birthday. For a group of 9, they did a great job in making sure we were taken care of. The owner actually took our orders and made recommendations. The service was excellent, but the food was superb. Just about everything is made by the restaurant. That makes a big difference in the quality and the taste of the food. I can’t even tell you about the huge wine selections. Great varieties from around the world. I will definitely come back.

Love their pizza. Vegan pizza is available and delicious. So glad Rafy’s is doing this. The only place in town, oddly, to offer a tasty vegan option.

Perfect place to bring the kiddos for an easy, quick lunch. The pizza here is really good, and thy serve it NY style by the slice. Everyone can pick their favorite without arguing about toppings. Bonus: their Caesar salad is legit!

I’ve never had«real» NYC pizza, but as soon as I got Rafy’s in the car I knew exactly what other reviewers were talking about – the smell is quite authentic and distinctive. This was a great pizza experience, and we’ll definitely be trying more of Rafy’s creations! I loved the crispy, thin, cornmeal flavored crust and the fresh cheese. I had never seen a pizza with noodles, but«The Coney Island» combines two of my favorite things – pizza and pasta! I do wish it had more sausage, but still a great pizza. My hubby tried the sausage and pepperoni, which was loaded with sausage. Oh, and don’t skip the garlic knots! Those just might have been the best part – absolutely melted in my mouth. Not too garlic-y like some places. Yum!!!

I’m convinced that the majority of the reviews must be friends and family, because my exerience was nothing like the reviews would indicate. My wife placed a call to the restuarant and spoke with a female employee. After inquiring whether they had chicken wing, my wife was told yes and that they come in a 12 piece order. We then place an order for the wings, a pizza, and were recommended the garlic knots. We asked to pay by debit card but were told that the delivery driver would have a mobile card reader and we would pay at the time of delivery. Fast forward 30 minutes when the delivery driver arrives. The delivery driver gives me a pizza with garlic knots, I ask about the wings and I am told they aren’t on the order. I figure no big deal, I’ll call the restuarant and square it away in a minute… no need to hold up the driver. Then I try to hand the driver my debit card and he tells me that he doesn’t have the card reader and that he can take cash, but he doesn’t know how much the bill is so he has to call the restuarant. I pay the drive and he leaves. My wife then calls the restuarant to fix the issue of wings. She speaks with the exact same person she had the conversation with regarding wings, whether they have them and how many come in an order. The employee apologizes for the miscommunication and we are told the wings will be a little under ten dollars. We figure, cool, it was an honest mistake so we’ll pay for our wings have them delivered and be all done. Then we are told that our order doesn’t meet the minimum required dollar amount and we need to spend more money to qaulify for delivery. Rafy’s refused to acknowledge the fact that we had already ordered far more than the original delivery minimum and they failed to accurately record our order, then rather than fix the issue, they try to milk us out of even more money. To top this all off, the pizza dough was dry and overcooked and the garlic on the garlic knots was burned. Bad food could be a fluke but horrible service and poor business practices indicates poor leadership and poor values… not what I expect in the community of Petaluma. I will happily give my business to Old Chicago and SoMo Pizza.

We have tried many pizza places since moving to Petaluma and we finally found our favorite! Best NY thin crust I have had outside of NY, thin, foldable, simple and YUMMY. We did try the Sicilian and did not like it as much, its still good we just prefer the thin crust. The staff is so friendly, we always get take-out and its fast!

Well, they claim to be the best of Sonoma county… And, if anything, that may be an understatement, because I have yet to have a better pizza anywhere in the country(NYC included)!

Very pleasant experience here tonight. When we got there it was pretty crowded with a bunch of kids making tons of noise. Which is perfect since we have a 2 year old and a 3 month baby who make plenty of noise as well. Raft and the young lady(I didn’t get her name) were so cordial to us. Always making sure we were ok and happy. Once all the other people left we let James, our 2 year old, walk around. Rafy was kind enough to take James back and show him where the pizzas are made and introduce him to the staff. It’s obvious that customer service and good experience are high priorities for Rafys.

Pizza!!! I love pizza — so does my husband. So having recently relocated to this area we have begun the quest to find our favorite combination of dough sauce and cheese. There are many really good variations around here but since we both grew up on the East coast(Marty in Jersey and me in CT) we are always on a hunt to find a place that harkens back to the pizza of our youth. It’s the comfort food we crave. Rafy’s surprisingly has managed to create a hybrid that while honoring the NorCal food sensibilities also holds true to a traditional old school NY style pizza. It starts with the crust that must have a real depth of flavor — something that develops with time. Crust isn’t just a conveyance for cheese and sauce and toppings. Truthfully it’s the main event and makes the difference between awesome and aw’rite. Rafy’s crust fits the bill. Our server Raveena who was refreshingly happy and enthusiastic about her job and the product they offer explained that Rafy actually developed his own recipe that uses sourdough. Who’d have thunk it? Great NY style pizza with a sourdough crust — how could there be such a thing? Yet there is and it’s here at Rafy’s. Really fresh, high quality ingredients, each wonderfully flavorful on their own, came together to give us that perfect bite. The crust had that foldable quality but held up to the toppings and the cornmeal on the bottom added a delightful little crunch. The cheese was perfectly stretchy and melty, the sauce supported but didn’t overwhelm. There was that little bit of oil that makes you need an extra napkin. Yes good NY style pizza needs to glisten a little because that’s FLAVOR people! We shared a house salad which was more than enough for two people. The chickpeas(or gigi’s as my Italian mother-in-law called them) were a nice addition and the balsamic dressing was yummy and dip worthy. Come on I can’t be the only one who has been know to dip my pizza crust into a really good dressing? Rafy’s moves to the top of our list. We will be regulars here for sure. If I could change anything — it would be great if they offered a good cider along with the beer and wine.

OK, let me preface this by saying that I am Brooklyn born and raised, which automatically makes me an authority on NY style pizza. Doesn’t matter if you’re born without taste buds, Brooklynites know it when they smell it. This my friends, is the real deal. Rafy’s has amazing pizza, try the cheese — it’s the standard that all pizza should be measured by. Great cheese, sauce and dough add up to pizza perfection, and don’t forget it. The garlic knots are equally heavenly, as are the few other things I’ve tried there(meatball, some specialty pizzas). The vibe is right, the pizza great, and the website sings about NY of the C. If you really love pizza(i don’t mean pizza hut or dominos) you will love this place. In Petaluma? GONOW!

After the owner of the restaurant read my review he decided to reach out and changed my opinion about this place. We tried a different pizza and we absolutely loved it. It was so delicious! I love how they make their crust and the owner was super friendly when we went inside saying he wants to make sure everyone’s experience is a good once. That attention to his business will make me come back and recommend it to others.

Ordered a gluten free — cheese/bacon/olives pizza(healthy I know) I have celiac disease– aka no wheat. This was the BEST gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. It’s made out of rice mainly, from another facility that they chose. Nice, prompt service — I’ll be back.

I stumbled across this place when I was with my family in Petaluma. Other Unilocalers gave it good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. The place was decorated nicely and the staff were very friendly. The pizza was good and fresh. What really impressed me the most was the impeccable customer service. My daughter was pouting because she didn’t want anything on her pizza. The man noticed and made her a free slice of cheese pizza at no charge. That kind of customer service is extremely rare these days. We’ll definitely be back!

Nothing bad, nothing good. One pizza tasted good but was lackluster and sparsely covered. Other one was cardboard, boring and very sparsely covered. The sauce is good but plain. If the sauce is the signature of a pizza, this place signs with an «X». Veggies, when found, were very nice and fresh. Sausage tasted good but was not at all plentiful. Outside tables are on the sidewalk so no beer allowed unless you dine inside. Forget beer if you brought a dog, they can’t go inside. So only two stars. We won’t go back. I’m still hungry. At least the prices were not high!
