I love this place! The Pollo Jalisco and Pollo Relleno are awesome. This is about a 45 minute drive for us, but we come here whenever we can. Everything is prepared excellently. Highly recommended.

Found hair and aluminum foil in my ACP. Last night. Extra gross because the hair was twisted around a piece of chicken. Used to come here all the time but the past few times have been pretty bad. Never going back now, you probably shouldn’t either.

This place is wonderful. They have some of the friendliest staff around and it is super kid friendly while still being fun for the adults. The food is always yummy and the quality and taste is very consistent. We have been going here for years and have never been let down. They are also great for big groups.

We’ve been here twice in the past week. The food here is so much better than the food at any of the other Mexican restaurants in the Winston-Salem area. The dishes have flavor and the ingredients are quality. The prices are slightly more than most of the other Mexican restaurants in Winston-Salem, but the quality is worth it. I’ve ordered the burrito tipicos and the enchiladas chilapa. My husband has ordered tacos de carne asada and enchiladas rancheras with chicken. Four great dishes. The burrito tipicos and enchilads chilapa come with a smokey tomatillo sauce on them and very finely diced pico de gallo. The enchiladas rancheras have a sauce that is closer in color to brown gravy than the vibrant orange-red sauce on most enchiladas in town, but is very tasty. My husband keeps saying«I could eat a bucket of this rice.» So, the rice is really good, too. The refried beans taste like real beans instead of like gray paste. I’m pretty sure their beans don’t come from a can!

Best Mexican food EVER! We go here at least once a week. The Texas fajitas for two are so delicious. The staff is always nice. The food comes out quickly and always hot. No complaints here at all!

I don’t normally write reviews, but this place deserves a 5**** review. Me and the girl always go for the Texas fajitas for two and they are nothing short of delicious. Add chorizo to them and you have the best tasting Mexican in NC.

Best Mexican restaurant I’ve found in my area. The fish tacos are very good and pollo relleno is the best we have ever had in all of our travels on the east coast.

The hub & I have visited this location a handful of times, most recently when my mom was visiting and wanted Mexican food. We usually share the fajitas(shrimp, chicken, and steak); it’s a lot of food, even for two people. Their salsa is pretty tasty as well, and they always have drink specials. EM is located at the end of a nondescript strip mall on the edge of Pfafftown, but don’t judge a book by its cover. The staff are very attentive and friendly; it’s worth a visit to this hole-in-the-wall.

I seriously love this place. The food is always consistency good & the service is great too. The manager always walks around to check on the tables. They have a great veggie ACP option(which I add chicken too) that I’ve really enjoyed. Their margaritas are really good too!

This is our goal to spot since it’s right down the block! The wait staff a d manager are very friendly and accomodating. If you do that see something on menu just ask, they usually will accommodate. Great selection of drinks and specials, as well as beers. You can get a spicier salsa with your chips but you must ask for it. I also ask for«Chiles Volteados», which are grilled jalapenos, just add salt and lemon to taste and eat away. Or do like me, ask for a side of grilled chicken, side of mushrooms and mix all up… delicioso!!! Add salsa if you are daring! Their chicken soup is great in the winter or if you like spicy get the shrimp soup! Other dishes are a bit to Chesney for me as they add it to everything. But like I said you. An special order. Tacos with the works is also a favorite.

I’ve been here with my in-laws and the food was great! I had the Arroz con Pollo and it was really flavorful and good. I tried not to fill up on the chips too much before the food came, but that didn’t happen. Lol The salsa and chips were so fresh you could tell that it’s made in-house. The owner is so friendly and always comes to make sure everything tastes good and that you’re doing okay. I didn’t think there’s be such a great spot to get Hispanic food around here since this is practically in the middle of NOWHERE, but I’m so glad this place is here. Hopefully I can stop by again before we leave on Sunday!

Pros: The service is fast. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Cons: The service was fast meaning that the food is under a heat lamp and when we asked our waitress what she would recommend, she couldn’t point to one dish nor could she describe it. We have had better Mexican food. I wanted some tamales and the waitress would not recommend them. Sad to say, I was a bit disappointed. When our meals came out, it look absolutely horrible. As the saying goes«you eat with your eyes,» and this was an eye-sore. I had the Super Burrito meal which consisted of 5 different burritos(pork, chicken, beef, cheese and bean. The sauce that covered the dish was delicious and everything was seasoned well. The eye-sore was the mountain of shreded lettuce that was piled up 2 inches high all over the plate. I couldn’t see what I was eating and it was a mess. This is why I gave them a 3 star. Maybe this was an off day for the cooks at El Maguey. I will give them another try so they can redeem themselves. My fiancée loved her enchiladas and laughed at me for complaining about the full-sized salad bar adorning my burritos. That’s my luck folks.

El Maguey kicks off 2015 right. Amazing restaurant! I took my family there this past weekend. Though they were extremely busy, service was spot on and the food was impeccable. I have yet to go to El Maguey and not have a Manager talk to us and ask how everything is. I’ve read a few reviews that mention cost and flavor but I’m very confused about these reviews because it has always been great for me and I am truly a regular. Still my favorite!
