Service was very friendly. A bit slow due to a big crowd. My Frisco Burger was great. The coleslaw was delicious. The kids burgers were terrible. The meat patties didn’t taste good at all. They wouldn’t eat them. Overall it was still a great experience and I’d go back, but maybe different food for the kiddos.

This place is so good. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. The staff was very nice and the service was hands down wonderful. Folks in Los Angeles could use a lesson or two from the ladies working there. I will definitely come back to this place off the highway if I’m ever in that neck of the woods.

Stopped in for breakfast as we were passing through. It was a spur of the moment decision… like I just realized I’m hungry NOW! Very glad we did. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun but most importantly the service was excellent! We will definitely be back to try other menu items!

We stopped in yesterday with a group of eight of us doing our motorcycle ride. As soon as I walked in the place warmed our hearts. The food was incredible. I had a burger that was called the number 21 and it was by far the best burger I have ever had. Everybody in our group has something different and loved everything that was brought to our table. I highly suggest that if you go to this place you get the burger that’s called the number 21.

We stopped here heading back to the LA-area from a hiking trip. It’s good for travellers looking for hearty(read: unhealthy) food. Cozy cabin décor and a lot of the folks inside seemed like«regulars». Service and wait times were pretty average. Food was greasy and fried, but that’s what we expected! It’s a decent mom ‘n’ pop place if you’re road wary and need a big meal. Con: I noticed that their wine is served from boxed Franzia wines –_–

I got the pork chops and they were pretty good. They came with sauteed veggies, mashed potatoes(because they were out of baked), and a dinner roll. My meal all together was about a four but I gave a three because out of the 5 ppl I was with I was the only one who like my meal. The burgers were inedible, the ranch tasted like straight mayonnaise, the hot wings weren’t very spicy, but their minestrone was pretty good and the waitress was waay overworked and still had great timing with all our requests(although her attitude wasn’t the best it was understandable at the time).

We stopped here on out way to lake arrowhead. I’d been here before once, years ago and recalled loving their breakfast. We were seated right away and I ordered the burger with fries. We had about a 10 min wait. The burger was not very good. It wasn’t grilled, it tasted like it was cooked in a pan and was greasy. The fries were excellent though. My daughters chicken strips were so over-breaded and over– cooked that I had to pick the hard pieces off. Service was good, the restaurant was clean. I think next time I’m in the area, I’d only stop for breakfast though.

Finally stopped by to try out the food, we drive up to wrightwood daily and always see this place packed. Very nice atmosphere, friendly and welcoming. Staff was happy and energetic, which makes a huge difference when being served. I had ordered the hot pastrami dip with coleslaw. It was very tender and juicy, I was very pleased with the sand which. The coleslaw was good, a bit too much vinegar for my taste. I was very please with the portions. We will return!

Quaint little café have driven by it for over 20 years(on my way to my grandma’s house). Stopped by for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Quickly greeted and seated. Waitress was very friendly. The menu is extensive and priced affordable. The portions were big and delicious. For less than $ 10 I ordered the lumberjack special: 3 eggs, 3 bacon, 3 sausage, hash-browns and choice of pancake, gravy and biscuits or toast! My daughter ordered the French toast and that plate was very good as well! We will definitely be back! Great place to stop and eat on your way to Wrightwood.

This is not a bad place. The service was great! The fries were good, the chicken strips were a little over breaded. The honey mustard had an odd vinegar taste. Try the hot coco, it is a good thing on a cold evening. For the price, I don’t think you’ll find anything as good in the neighborhood.

My chicken steak was ok. Nothing special. But my dads t bone steak was soooo salty hahaha. It was like they poured spoons of salt on it. Service was average.

This place is great. The inside is super cute and homey. We came in the beginning of fall, and it was decorated with the cutest Halloween décor. The woman with short hair was a hustler. She was nice and worked very hard to serve everyone. The food was great as well! However, she was running the entire restaurant by herself. I think they need to have someone working with her just to help the flow a little better.

Who would have thought this little café where the 138 meets the 2 would serve such savory meals?! I like mtn top for lunch and dinner, the salads are always fresh cold and crisp and the soups are flavorful. I dig the seasoned pork chops and pesto chicken as well. Cozy and warm, 5 stars all the way!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven past this little café throughout my lifetime and never stopped. After a long day in Ontario and just about dinner time, we were starving. Hadn’t eaten all day but breakfast so I suggested to my husband to give it a try since we pass right by on the way home. And so glad we did. Service was wonderful and food was even better and we didn’t have to wait long. For a place that’s been around since the 1940’s it sure was clean and in good shape. Even the regulars in the place were happy and greeted us as we walked in. Charming is the right word. And portion size! WOW! They certainly don’t skimp at all with their servings. Next time we know to split a meal. We typically do. Yep…I would go there again in a heartbeat. But make sure you take a jacket. It’s cold up there on that mountain top.

Stopped by here for breakfast on Sunday morning. I don’t know if it was ill luck or bad timing on our part, but our visit was a mix of good and bad — I can’t, in good conscience, give the place five stars. Let me explain… 1) Right when we walked in, no one greeted us or uttered a single welcoming word. The wait staff ignored us completely. We came in at the same time as a family of 12 and an older couple and we were ALL ignored. So we all just kind of stood there, feeling awkward, until a man from the group of 12 asked how long the wait was and they were told the wait would be 20 – 30 mins. The server wasn’t friendly at all and even though we were standing near the register, pretty much in front of the two servers, we were still ignored. Okay, so they had a huge table of 12+ to take care of along with other tables, but they could have at least greeted the newcomers when we walked in! 2) So my husband and I debated whether we should even bother staying, and as we were about to walk out, a 3rd server walked out from the back, looked at us and asked: «Was anyone looking for me?» We told her, uhm, we just want to eat. No one’s talked to us yet. She asked us how many people in our group and then said that a table that was being cleared off was for us. So. We decided to stay. In my head, I began to tally the number of stars I would give for my review. So far, 1 star for being ignored when we walked in(since Unilocal won’t let me give zero stars). 3) Once we were seated, our server(who was actually very nice) took our order and we proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. And wait… 4) I noticed that a group of 3 dudes walked in and started cleaning the bar area which still had glasses and used cutlery from the previous customers. They sat and waited for someone to bring them a menu or to acknowledge their presence. After ten minutes they stood up and walked out. 5) Our food arrived — finally!!! For the food alone, I would give the place 4 stars. It was good, very filling, but nothing out of this world. Our server kept my coffee cup filled, but I had to stand up and ask for a refill on my husband’s beer :(but because she was very friendly and sweet, 5 stars for her. 6) Once we were finished eating, I went up to the register to pay. The lady who had, in the beginning of this interesting adventure — finally acknowledged our presence — informed me that she was in the middle of «bank» — I guess, counting the till or something? I wasn’t sure. Anyway, our nice server apologized but I would have to wait until after the lady was finished with what she was doing before I could pay. My family had already put on their coats and had started getting up to leave, but we had to go back to our seats and wait… And wait… And wait… And wait… 7) By the time we paid and made our leave, we had been there almost 2 hours. I can understand being busy, but breakfast shouldn’t take that long! Two stars for the long wait times! Okay, so total # of stars: 1(initial greeting or lack thereof) + 4(good food) + 5(nice server) + 2(waiting. and waiting. and waiting) = 12 stars ÷ 4 = 3!!!

Wifey and I were trucking through the 138, and we were famished. Cant park my truck in too many places, and as I crept by in my granny gear I was pleasantly surprised to see enough room for my rig in their gravel parking lot. Pulled in and walked on in. Very quaint, casual atmosphere. The other patrons there were clearly enjoying themselves, and we were quickly welcomed in and shown to our table. We debated whether to get an appetizer, or a helping of their Fried Chicken that intrigued us because it was separate on the menu. SUPER happy we tried the chicken! It is literally some of the best Fried Chicken Ive ever had, DEFINITELY in the top three. Next time we come here, it will definitely be to do a full Fried Chicken family dinner, I want to share these flavors with those I love! Is that curry powder I taste? Bomb. Since Im reading that alot of people are recommending their breakfast, perhaps a better idea is to get the Fried Chicken AND Waffles, etc. Tried Wifeys Bacon Cheeseburger and it was quite juicy, nice bun, standard $ 8 burger. Got a Pastrami sandwich and it was OK, they served it to me with the au jous they serve the Pastrami Dip with, so I got to try that. It actually improved the taste of the Pastrami. Our fries were standard Ore-Ida fare. Nothing to see about fries, yet oddly enough, I want to try the Pub Fries some time. The Pastrami was the only reason I gave ONLY4 stars, it was just, OK. Im sure as I return, and try other things, my rating will go up.
