Pretty typical little coffee shop. Nothing bad or good about it. It’s worth stopping in if you need a jolt or something to eat.

I really enjoy the hot soups at this place. Each day, they make two different soups, such as Italian wedding, chicken pastina, clam chowder etc. Of course, if you go there often enough, you’ll run into soups you’ve had before, but there’s a nice variety. The paninis are pretty good too(though probably not enough choices for meat lovers) and the salads are really fresh. I also love their cappuccino! The new manager just started less than a month ago. He seems to be working hard and can often be seen in the café sitting at a table with his laptop. We’ll see what he can do to make this place even better!

Very convenient for morning coffee if you work in the City Hall area. Tasty coffee for a decent price and a sleek, modern atmosphere — but not really a stand-out place. Their breakfast items(pastry, bagels, muffins) are pretty good, but I hate places that charge you for butter on your bagel just on principle(who eats a bagel completely plain)? The lunches were ok, but a bit pricey when there are so many other, better options in the area. The soups, however, are usually worth it. Most of the baristas are super nice, except for one or two who are snobby and standoffish. My tip — get your morning coffee to go and grab a muffin from the cart outside.

Bright and modern Italian-style café, located just south of City Hall. Cappuccino is a bit under $ 3, and paninis are $ 6.50. Pastries look dried out, as do the sandwiches, but a couple of minutes on the panini toaster and the paninis are delicious. A nice variety of options too, around 8 different kinds including — eggplant, prosciutto, turkey, and brie. Service is good and staff is pretty happy/helpful. Cappuccino is not terribly strong(that’s neither good, nor bad, just depends on how you like it). Beautiful, contemporary, giant stainless steel espresso/cap maker straight from Italy anchors the coffee bar. Pretty empty in the am + fills up during lunch, but sufficient seating on 2 levels. Even though it is part of a chain, it’s a great addition to an area with a dearth of good non-chain coffee(and it ain’t Starbucks for a change).

I really enjoy this new Italian-style café. I’m no coffee hound, so I’ll reserve comments on their product for those that know better. There’s extra seating upstairs but it can get a little warm. Academia is part of the Hausbrandt chain. I enjoy the location at 207 S. 15th better than this one because it’s more intimate.

Small location, but excellent coffee, sandwiches(warmed up), and the service is beyond excellent. great place to pick up lunch, or even stay in to chat and hang out with friends. i will certainly be going back again and again with everyone I can.
