Blink Optical

Blink is great. I am thrilled with my lenses and the service was excellent. I was looking for a place that would put prescription lenses in my favorite sun glasses. I had my eye on Blink for a few months and was impressed with the amount of sunglasses and frames in stock. I was thrilled to find that Blink could do the job for me, and just in 3 hours. My glasses are perfect and I wanted to share that Blink is really wonderful. It’s a very nice place and I recommend it whole heartedly.

I was impressed by their online selection and wanted to make a purchase in store before I went on vacation. Since I live in Ny I decided to go online and check their reviews before making the trip all the way to philly. Saw a lot of negative comments, but I’m the type to give a business the benefit of the doubt. I left a comment on their page asking them why people had so much negative things to say about them on Unilocal,and they kindly blocked me. Obviously they aren’t about customer service or actually building a brand. They are more interested in shout outs from B list celebs and getting Instagram famous. Good luck to them. This place is a pure joke.

Let me just start off by saying that I read the previous reviews and I’m just in aww by the negative comments… I want it to be known that This store in Philadelphia speaks for itself…
FACTS
*They have thē Largest selection in not only Optical wear but also Sunglasses! Thousands of frames to choose from, from Amazing top of the line designers!.. Everything from your most popular name brands to the most unique new up-​in-​coming brand names that not everyone knows about (which is always a breath of fresh air when you’re not trying to look like everyone else!)
*You can get your prescription lenses filled the SAME DAY!
*They have not one. But TWOOO locations to go to!.. So that just shows that they MUST be doing Something Right. Right!!!
*They’re open anywhere from 11am to 9−10pm at night… Everyday!
*They’re not only knowledgable when it comes to frames in general. But they’re honest– which I respect. They’ll give their opinion if solicited. & provide explanation as to what might fit your frame or style and what won’t.
*At Blink, I get what I want, what I expect, and prices are not only reasonable, but are also MATCHED if found by another reportable site/​location… (I’ve noticed nobody’s mentioned that, and found that interesting)
I’ve been wearing optical glasses since I was 5 years old. which means I’ve been to plenty shops … I’ve tried many eye wear locations… And I’ll be honest, I’ve been flabbergasted by how easily other shops have tried to scam me by charging ridiculous amounts on lenses and frames! But knowing that I have Blink as a go to (at any time) I actually get excited when it’s time for new frames. I get my eyes check somewhere, and go straight to Blink to actually purchase my optical frames and sunglasses. The other people that have left comments stating they’ve been blatantly ignored, I guess maybe aren’t that sociable?! Who knows, All I know is, when I stop in, there’s always a «hello» and open conversation.
But I will say, the owner does read bullsh*t real well, lol! So. If you go over there with the intent to just waste time/​hours. This is not the spot for you. Lol!
There is a huge selection, and I truly believe there is a frame in there for anyone’s own particular style. I’ve currently been heavy on their Dita selection myself. But to each their own.
& I must say, no matter how strong my prescription seems to get, (& Unfortunately, I’m in the deep negatives) my lenses always come out accurate, beautiful, timely and meets my expectation. I’m Always satisfied with their work.
So be it, location, store hours, prices, selection, customer service, or professionalism… Blink will ALWAYS be my go to shop and I am always heavy on referring people their way.

I had been following blink optical on Instagram for a while so recently i visited Philadelphia and went to the South Street location and fell in love. I was greeted as soon as i walked in the store and the vibe in the store was very pleasant. I met a sales girl by the name of Amber and she was amazing! The own was there also and her was just a well round awesome man. He and Amber we very helpful the sunglasses and optical frames that they sale in the store are amazing! I ended up purchasing a pair of Porsche Design Aviators which came with a set of 2 lenses for 400 dollars, which was a steal. They always have a sale going on and the prices are unbeatable. IF YOU ARE IN PHILLY GO TO BLINK OPTICAL YOU WILL NOT BE UPSET!

This place is terrible. Walked in and was not greeted by either of the two people working in any way. We were the only people in the store, so it’s not like they were too busy to say hello. After perusing the admittedly decent selection of glasses, I had to ask one of the clerks to let me try on a few pair. The entire time I was trying on frames, the woman seemed annoyed that she had to do her job and show me glasses. At one point, I said to my husband that he should take a pic of me in a pair, so I could compare them to a pair I had liked in a previous store. Immediately, the male clerk who had entirely ignored our presence until this point, yelled «No pictures!» I just put the glasses down and walked out. I will definitely be purchasing my glasses elsewhere.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! Not everyone can make a decision buy $ 300 – 500 glasses in just one go. Glasses are the first things people notice when they see you if you wear them and my last pair have lasted almost 7 or more years. Now that I have explained all of that I can explain my experience there. I came in the first time with my mom and yes I did try on almost every single large cat eye pair of glasses plus some while I was there, I was polite and nice and did not ask any more of them then what they are there for, to pull glasses of a shelf and let me try them. The trip was fruitful and I found a pair of glasses. During this the store was empty except for one person coming in once in a while. My boyfriend was also with me sitting quietly on the chair in the corner this is significant because the entire time we were there the store owner is bad mouthing me in Hebrew which my boyfriend speaks since he is also Israeli. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was there, like they were doing me a favor by being there. I have a rule that on big purchases such as the glasses I was going to buy which were $ 390 not including lens I need to sleep on it and do research to make sure I was getting the better deal. During this time several things happened in my life which stalled the glasses buying process though the entire time I had the intention on returning to buy the glasses (not everyone lives and breathes glasses). Well yesterday I returned with cash to do a last try on and buy the glasses hoping that since it’s cash they’d kick down the price for me a bit. I didn’t even get that far. I said «I have come to try on one very particular pair of glasses» and proceeded to tell the owner I recognized from last time as Heim which pair it was. He then put this nasty smile on his face and said «I remember you. You were here with your Mom the other day trying on all the glasses wasting our time. You said you were going to come back!» he was yelling at the end of this. I responded «Well I came back. I’m here. Can I see those glasses?». «NO!!!» he screamed «GET OUT!!!» I said «fine, I have cash though and am ready to buy.» as he continued to yell while I left.

Avoid this place. Walked in knowing what pair of frames I wanted to order (expensive ones at that) and the two woman working there were actively unhelpful. I turned to the bearded man who appeared to be the owner, I asked him if I could order the pair of glasses, he said «yes» and then turned away and didn’t acknowledge me for the next five minutes. Of course I walked out as I didn’t want to spend my money with them.
I walked to the store directly next door, West Coast Optical, spoke to a gentleman working there who was incredibly helpful and nice and walked out within 5 minutes having ordered my glasses.
Blink must be a front for something as they were actively trying to not assist me in buying glasses from them.

They must have new staff because the service was impeccable!!! Got glasses updated the same day. I would absolutely recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thanks guys, I will be back!!!

Great selection. Would buy from here, but the staff has such a flat affect & are not friendly. Fake smiles from time to time are not welcoming. I spend thousands on specs, but never from here.

Customer service here is nonexistent. I am way overdue new eyeglasses and wanted a style update. While they have a wide selection, the owner is entirely uninterested in helping or even speaking to you. After taking out one pair of glasses for me to try on he took a seemingly endless call without apologizing or making any kind of gesture that he would be right back to help me. I waited for a little while and feeling foolish, left. A little advice for the owner — don’t start a customer service intensive business if you don’t like people.

Appalling customer service. Shocking in fact.
I was visiting Philly and stumbled upon this store. The bearded man who I believe to be the owner was ridiculous and unprofessional.
Upon entering, a man was sitting on a loveseat at the back of the store watching the World Cup on a tablet and talking to himself all while scratching a mid-​body itch. I believed him to be a customer as he completely ignored me and my friend so I waited for a salesperson to come from the back of the store. Turns out, he was the salesperson and the only other person in the store besides my friend and me.
The bearded man finally hoisted hisself up from that sofa only to stand and watch the World Cup and ignore me and my friend more. Not even a hello.
I had had it and told my friend «let’s go.» But my friend wanted to wait and see a few frames. I respected his wishes despite my rage. The man never even acknowledged us.
The kicker for me was when another customer came in, the bearded man did show him a frame even though we were there first. They knew each other. I understand the old ⁸⁰⁄₂₀ rule, but this was ludicrous. At that point, we left.
The only positive thing I can say about BLINK is that they do have a decent selection of frames.
There was a silver lining though as I found another competing eyewear store down the street with great customer service and purchased three amazing pairs. I will post a review for that store.
Avoid BLINK at all costs.
