Fish tacos stink– 2 tacos, no toppings, soggy fries. grilled cheese comes on rye– all crust. Chicken sandwich– thinnest meat in existence, all bun, don’t bother Its dark as hell in here. They caught me on a nice day which is why they’re getting 2 starts instead of 1.

0 star if possible… 2 hours without a courtesy call. called them several times, every time is the same answer the delivery guy is on the way. I live 5 mins away driving… either this guy is delivering to every house from the restaurant to my house or they are just dishonest. Either way horrible service.

The fried chicken and beer cheese Mac n cheese is insane. But for those that can’t take down a half of a chicken, bowl of mac and a biscuit you should definitely do the chicken and biscuits. Perfectly cooked fried chicken breast which on its own is delicious. Put that over a fresh open faced handmade biscuit, some true southern sausage gravy(not too much, just right!!) with a sprinkling of fresh cut green onions and wow! So damn good. Wash it down with one of their many droughts and polish that off with a great bourbon and you are done. Great place. Great food. Attentive staff.

Place was decent. But nothing to write home about. We came for dinner — party of 6. The drinks were good. The food was so so. Had 36hr wings and fried pickle for appetizer –wings barely had any meat/taste at $ 11 for 3 small wings. fried chicken was decent and so was Mac and cheese.

I came off the road and discovered this really fabulous pub and grub bar. What a great atmosphere!!! A lot of friendly and hip locals, a woody old feel atmosphere and great people behind the bar. What else could you ask for? As the guy next to me was eating as he described it «a really fabulous mac n cheese», I could not help but be inspired. Well after all I was hungry too. So I got something typical, a simple burger and it was at the right price too. Five bucks! It wasn’t just any burger but a good half pounder and it was delicious and also included sweet potato fries and had tomato and lettuce. and was on a sweet roll I love going to a restaurant that honors your Divinity with a delicious burger.

I would give this place 5 stars, but the only reason i’m giving 4 is because i’ve only been here once. However i’m confident the my rating to this place will only improve. Restaurant Presentation: Perfect location– Northern Liberties. Building has that old charm and homey feel. They have outside seating and complimentary water for your fury friends. Service: Friendly staff, and very helpful to any questions we had Menu: Clever– I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but just know you’ll be impressed but a little confused at first lol Drinks: Amazing the bartenders definitely make sure to keep the rich taste of the alcohol rather than diluting it with tons of additives. Meaning, they’re not putting ketchup on a steak. Food: OMG Becky! So flavorful, savory, just a big party in my mouth. Best fish and chips I have ever had. I found myself craving it all for weeks. Well worth the price.

When the place we were going to had a line out the door, we walked down the street to this place, where we enjoyed one of the best brunches ever. Clever food pairings, wonderful flavors, and a great environment. Both the potatoes and the grits were equally awesome. The fried chicken tasted of perfection. I would put Bourbon and Branch at the top of any list.

This place was good! We came for happy hour and ended up staying to check out the live music performance upstairs afterward. I like the vibe of this place! It’s got a worn-feeling to it — all of the chairs and tables are imperfect and look like they’ve been around for a while! The happy hour deal is decent — $ 5 old fashioneds and whiskey sours. I will say though, my second whiskey sour was more sour than whiskey, so I felt like they were skimping us toward the end. For a Thursday night, I didn’t think this place was very crowded but for some reason our waitress was hard to find and pretty inattentive(don’t get me wrong she was nice she was just very aloof the whole night). I wish we had ordered some of the food because everything that came out of the kitchen looked bomb dot com but we decided to go somewhere else for dinner. I would have given this place 4 stars if it wasn’t for the service! I could see myself coming back but with the hopes that the service was a little better.

I went here with some friends while visiting for the weekend, I am extremely pleased with everything about this place. From the décor, vibe, music(DJ was playing old soul music and R&B that hit every chord in the right way). The portions were grand, I feel like there are often many spots that don’t get it right or overcharge for basics, not here. I loved everyone else’s dishes too(literally since the place settings are a mixture of types /designs of plates). Their biscuits are SOOOOOO good, make SURE you get them. I had the cheesy grits with shrimp hands down awesome & prepared the right way(and I’m picky since I go to ATL a lot), they get it right here! Absolutely coming back here for my next brunch when I’m in town!

Being a resident of South Philly, I don’t travel out to NOLIBS often, but some friends convinced me to venture out to Bourbon and Branch and I’m glad I did. The service was on the mark, very friendly. Waitress was genuine, like she really wanted to be sure we liked everything. We shared a few things, the roasted veg salad(had this great cheese on it), fried chicken(it was awesome) and a burger. The kale salad was a little dry and the pieces of kale too big, but whatever. Will return when in the hood.

The food is always delicious here. We’ve come here a few times for dinner and tried brunch for the first time today. The service is always a little slow… Taking away a star for me. It’s a smaller space with a cute atmosphere. Drink menus are in cute old kids books. Brunch — My party got the confit pork belly and eggs, cinnamon roll pancakes, corned beef hash and eggs, and the huevos. The confit pork belly and eggs was good but not quite what I expected, I wouldn’t order it again. The corned beef on the other hand was out of this world. Very salty and has a kick but not in a bad way. My friend said that the huevos were delicious. The pancakes were out of this world. The cinnamon and sugar on top was a crunchy caramelized texture that really added to the pancakes. Loved them Also side note. The biscuits were good but not nearly as delicious as other reviewers claimed(at least in my book!) Dinner — their Mac and cheese is delicious. I make sure to always get a side no matter what I’m eating. Overall good food, good drinks, ok service.

Cozy pub with friendly service at both the tables and bar. Expansive beer list, delicious classic cocktails and a sizable menu with plenty of options to appease lots of different tastes. The truffle chips were subtle and tasty, and the fish tacos are deliciously zingy! Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and fried chicken also got great reviews from my table mates. The live music space upstairs is small but sounds great, though the beer selections in the VERY narrow upstairs bar space are mostly limited to cans.

I had an amazing experience here! The waiter was extremely nice! The coffee was great! The food was spectacular. Additionally, the biscuits with the honey butter were beyond anything I have ever experienced! If I recommend anything, I would recommend the biscuits! You will not be disappointed!

I’m happy to report that this is NOT a cocktail bar dedicated to bourbon and wine(or olives). It is, in fact, the cross streets. Imagine my social anxiety relief when a friend proposed to meet here! As has been my many experiences in Philly — - great beer, cheap beer, local beer. Give a Howard Dean yell -: Yiyahhh! Cool place, too.

Bourbon and Branch is my go to after work spot. The happy hour is so convenient because it’s 5 – 7 instead of 4 – 6. It’s also a deal because they do half off drafts. I’ve found that overall they have a good craft beer selection. They also have their bar snacks for $ 5 but it’s not really a deal… I just go for the nachos which are unfortunately still full price. The nachos are $ 9 + $ 3 for seitan but they are HUGE and made my boyfriend and I full. They layer the nachos so as you dig down more you uncover more delicious layers. They also put a lot of jalepeno which I like. Last night when I visited we were able to get 4 beers(3 of which were the Philadelphia Brewing Winter Wunder) and the nachos for $ 24 without tip. I was tipsy, full, and happy. The only weird thing is the drink menus are a super weird font making them hard to read. I casually said something to our waitress and they reprinted them making the words larger but not fixing the font. She even turned the lights up and we strained to read it. They also have a venue upstairs so while we were finishing up, we could hear the band sound checking upstairs so it might get loud when they actually start playing. Final Verdict: If you are looking for something cheap and delicious while also getting a little tipsy — check out the happy hour here.

Most things are wooden, most drinks are bourbon. Get some bourbon. Bartenders are good, knowledgable, and take their time. Drinks are worth the dime. It’s not very lively on the first floor, much more of a mellow setting. Upstairs is usually different. Both times I have been here there was live music upstairs. Both times it was overly packed upstairs. Not much you can do about it, the place isn’t all that big. Good for a drink or two.

My girlfriend, cousin and I came here for restaurant week because the menu sounded promising. I mean who doesn’t love downtown southern food right? We arrived right around 8pm and the restaurant was completely empty inside. It was a typical bar look inside with wooden booths and dim lights. We chose to sit outside since our was a nice night. We sat for about 20 minutes before somebody came to take our drink order. This should have been the indication of how slow service would be smh For appetizers I ordered the shrimp and anchovy toast which the toast was burnt but the shrimp had a decent flavor. My friend ordered the country pâté which was bland and not enough bread for the pâté. My cousin ordered the biscuits and gravy which was the only good tasting thing. For our entrees, I ordered the shrimp gumbo which was decent in flavor but needed more spices. My friend ordered the country fried chicken which was crispy but flavorless. My cousin ordered the braised beef short ribs which were very salty. We were far from impressed. For dessert I took the recommendation of the server and ordered the whiskey brownie a la mode. The brownie was stale and so hard. I could have gotten a better brownie premade from the grocery store. So the slow service with the mediocre food will cause us not to come back to this place. It’s sad considering the food description had so much potential.
