Awesome wings!!!(They charge u $ 1 for addition of celery, which surprised me when they charged me). Popular place, jam-packed.

What a great area locale. the crew, food, and brews are all top notch. great happy hour specials on both drinks and pub fare. come for the watermelon double IPA, stay for the Mac and cheese or buffalo chicken dip. look for Paul or Jill behind the bar and leave with a smile on your face.

Stopped in here one night with friends before we went to dinner. Pretty much your average sports bar. It was very crowded and there wasn’t a seat in the whole place. Just had a couple beers. Didn’t have any food, but looking at the menu it looked like your average sports bar food menu. Will definitely come back to enjoy watching some games.

This place is a hidden jewel in center city. The food is perfect, straight forward pub food at a reasonable price. There is no pretension at this bar. Beers and burgers in the heart of center city.

It was late on a Friday night, and all I wanted was some food! I stopped in here to grab a drink and some food with my sister after a comedy show. I got a salad that came with garlic bread. It was really good and a great value for only $ 4. My sister got a mystery beer. Basically you pay $ 3, cash only, and they bring out a bottle of beer in a brown paper bag. It’s a surprise what you get. My sister was happy when she received Oktoberfest beer from last year. I was a little surprised that they didn’t have a dance floor at this place. We had immediately walked in and gone to the upper floor, but we passed a DJ on the way in. We saw the downstairs, but it was very similar to the upstairs. From all of the commercials I had heard about this place, I thought for sure this would be a place to get your dance on! Bottom line — the service, food, and beverages were great. It was a little on the loud side for us.

All the bartenders here are at the top of their game, which is especially impressive when you realize one of them is in her second trimester and still had the dance moves of a Sixers Dancer(or a Delilah’s girl? I didn’t have the courage to ask!)

WATCHYOURTAB!!! WILLSCAMYOU! DON’T COMEHERE! So I went here for a couple casual drinks and the bartender charged my card for shots that the people next to us bought for the end of the bar. I tried talking to the bartender about it nicely. I told them it was under the wrong person. They didn’t understand. I signed for them with tip but said. hey it’s okay, we’ll pay for it but just want you to know for next time to not automatically charge randomly one of the people at the end of the bar because we weren’t the ones to order it. They freaked out, refused to acknowledge they charged the wrong person and then claimed we must be «drunk» and told me to deal with price difference with the other people outside, it’s not their problem. Both bartenders laughed, then left and refused to acknowledge me at all at the bar. So I paid it all because they wouldn’t even allow me to dispute charges. I tried calling after so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. I got to the the manager to talk about it who then transferred me to that bartender saying the manager was too busy as she laughed saying you should probably just«deal and sleep it off» and that if we had a drink, we don’t have a say anymore. This is so unprofessional. I’ve never had to deal with this ever in Philadelphia. I paid for it, no problem and was only calling to talk about the issue and possibly get an apology. instead they personally attacked me for no reason and laughed saying there’s nothing I can do about it. I will never be back or recommend this place to anyone. Definitely don’t take friends here, as they will charge you for drinks you never bought. I’m still in awe of how they approached such a simple issue. They must be so desperate to take such uneducated, foul employees.

OMG the nachos here are just amazing. We ordered them thinking that we’d want a bunch more food but we are so glad that we didn’t because it was a HUGE serving. The price was great too! We had come here to watch the Monday Night Football game and I thought it was a good option! It was pretty empty when we first walked in. I think it was a combination of Monday night and the Cowboys/Redskins match up(mind you, this is Eagles Country). But the emptiness was great! They had ample TVs and they played the sound for the game instead of music after we asked them to do so. The drinks were pretty cheap and I love that they have late night food deals! Monday was $ 5 cheesesteaks(which I opted for instead of a beer) but on other nights they have 50 cent wings and other good deals. This place is a pretty typical dive-y type bar so I would expect anything fancy of it. I hear it’s a good place to go for drinks on the weekends and I’ve had the chance to stop in, but I would say that I stay very long.

This place is terrible. We came from Canada and the stupid bartender wouldn’t serve me and my bf(we are both 31) …because we didnt have passports .however we had valid ID. driver’s license, health card… nexus pass… but apparently we were breaking the law without the passports… I asked to speak to a manager and the bartender threatened to call the cops on us… We walked down the street .had a beer, dinner and a great time. I told the staff there about what happened at cavanaughs and they laughed and said it was ridiculous. I am so furious. The attitude we received was unacceptable. I recommend no one go to this place.

Went here to watch MNF and order some drinks and food. It’s pretty typical bar food, but the nachos we got were delicious! It wasn’t crowded for the game which was super nice and the staff was more than willing to turn on the sound for the tvs when we asked. I was a little underwhelmed with the service during the game. Our waitress was not very attentive and would take a really long time to bring things out(i.e. Water and drinks) even though it was not busy at all. This may have been because the game was on, so the atmosphere was more relaxed. Regardless, I would come back! Lots of tv’s and many more food options I would want to try!

Worst food I’ve ever encountered out in Philadelphia. I get that people aren’t really here for the food(based on the obnoxious people ordering round after round of shots) but I ordered the soup of the day — which was served cold. And my boyfriend(who normally loves their wings) also received his wings cold. Both meals went back. When they returned, the wings were«okay». The soup was warm but the vegetable portion of my tomato vegetable soup was raw and the tomato part just tasted like watered down ketchup. So, I guess I had a side salad with a frozen vegetable blend(carrots, corn, onion, celery, green beans) drowned in ketchup. Barf. Service wasn’t bad but I would be hard pressed to return.

My son visiting from college wanted to go to local pub and watch the Eagles he found Cavanaughs online it was close by and online menu and drink specials looked good so we went. It surpassed my expectations the bar staff was awesome, the food was great, came out quick(even when busy football crowds), even though the Eagles lost we had a great time and are looking forward to going back.

This review is solely based on a Sunday football experience. They have Sunday ticket so they always have all the games and they are big enough that it doesn’t get too crowded. We usually always find a seat and enjoy the games a lot there. Food is also good for bar food, as well as drinks.

I played Quizzo every Tuesday here for a year and had such a great time. The Quizzo is very well run /efficient and half-price burger night cannot be beat. Drink specials also make it a great deal. Jesse — who tends the downstairs on Tuesday — is super great and doe an amazing job especially considering how crowded it can get. Cavs Burger is amazing, fries are good, portion sizes are huge. Cavs is a great place to get together to watch or play a game.

I tried this place while traveling for work. It has 2 levels which is nice if there are several sports games on, so you can choose which game/event sounds you want to see. I had the buffalo chicken wrap is a pretty standard. To call this place a gastropub is a bit of a stretch. Yes they serve food, but standard pub fare. No ‘gastro’ items. And the drinks are standard fare as well… Unless you want to try the $ 3 mystery beer.

For a going out spot, this place is so meh. Alexis C. and I came for Erin Express this last weekend and it was such a buzzkill. The music was just terrible. Like throwback. but nothing 90s and fun. Throwback before I was born. Service for the most part was fast considering the crowd. They definitely could have used another server. As Alexis said though, the DJ was just straight up clueless and rude. I requested more top 40 stuff and he said he was saving that for after 9pm. Uh… its erin express dude. This is the main event. Every one here is gonna pass out at like 6pm max. It’s decently spacious with two floors. Just don’t expect an amazing night or anything. I’ve seen it straight up empty on Saturdy nights and stuff

Sometimes no-frills, no-thrills is a good thing. Not all sports bar need to have(30) 52″ TVs to make a statement. So if you are just looking for something low-key, with great customer service, this is a good spot if you are in the central business district. Drinks were good and beer was cold and flowing. Our waitress Samantha was great. Not to mention it was reasonably priced. It’s my spot next football season when I’m in Philly.

I called ahead and made arrangements over the phone with someone to set aside a table for 10 for a work event and they guaranteed this set up and accommodation for the next day. When I arrived with the group, they didn’t seem to have any idea what I was talking about and said they had certain tables set aside for other events and would not do that for ours which was frustrating. They eventually put together a few tables and it looked pretty messy/inconvenient and was not very organized. While I was annoyed with this miscommunication, the staff was super friendly and the food/service/drinks were delicious. I’d go back, but never again with a group as large.

It’s a decent sports bar. Went here for their $ 0.45 wing night and trivia/half off burgers night. Their wings are actually pretty good, but this place is really only worth going to for their daily specials. Their domestic pints are usually around $ 5… which I think is overpriced for a sports bar(but then again you are in center city.) Tuesdays they have trivia night along with $ 3.50 yuenglings and ½ off burgers(which end up being $ 6 with fries — good deal). On a weeknight they seem to be somewhat understaffed, I noticed only one woman working the tables for the entire bottom level. It’s very conveniently located in center city and there are many TVs to watch your favorite sports teams. Service is friendly and it’s usually not too packed. There’s actually a DJ at the entrance, and he runs the trivia!

Screw the award winning wings(although they did smell decilicious) and become a serious carnivore when you hit up Cavanaugh’s next. Hands down the one of the best burgers and cheese steaks I have ever had. Why? Read on. Having never been to this location and only for drinks at the other two, I was excited to try out some food. The place looks like a complete dive, and we were happy to see a lively crowd in the downstairs area as we were greeted to place drink orders. Before even discussing the food, the young lady who attended us was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about her beer. I am normally not a beer drinker, but opted for an ale merely on her enthusiastic description! Now let’s talk food. Starving, I ordered the Cavanaugh’s burgers which is caramelized onions, sugar-cured bacon, cheddar, and Cavanaugh’s sauce. Let’s just say that sweet cured bacon or the special sauce HITTHESPOT! What an amazing mix of flavors, no ketchup, mayo or anything needed! The burgers came out medium and I normally eat my meat well done, but after that first bite, I could not part with the damn thing. It was completely amazing. I didn’t think it could get any better, so when hubby and I switched plates so he can take a bite of my burgers, I had a small bite that turned into a second and third… don’t judge me. The cheese steak was nice and juicy, filled with meat, melted cheese and a roll that just melted in your mouth soft. I really can’t say anymore than I finished my ENITRE burger and then wanted to crawl into a ball for a nap, what a perfect meal.

Came here on a Thursday night to watch the football and grab dinner. They have a great selection of beers(finally found a place that serves Crabbies!) but we were all a bit disappointment in the food. I had the pulled pork special and found the meat to be quite bland. The wings that the table ordered were ok, but again, they found the Cavanaugh sauce to be quite bland. The layout of the bar makes it hard to socialize as well. It’s a split level bar so you need to decide if you want to sit upstairs or down. There are a lot of TVs around, but we had to crane our necks in the booth to see the tv properly. This place would be good to pop into for a quick beer, but I probably wouldn’t come in here again.
