Insomnia Cookies

I’ve been here several times in the past month and none of my visits have been particularly fulfilling. the cashier wasn’t polite or welcoming at all. the cookies were soft in the middle, crunchy on the sides, and only lukewarm. if you’re into that, great. I prefer cookies hot and gooey and employees that at least pretend they’re happy. I also don’t understand the architecture… the maybe 10 square feet of standing room and lines more than 3 people long have to wait outside… when its freezing out, a lukewarm cookie isnt worth it.
the two stars are for the chocolate peanut butter cookie that I loved so much despite its flaws and the delicious chocolate milk. the restaurant has potential to be good, I may check out others of this chain.

I like that they’re open late and can serve ice cream w/​the cookies, but I didn’t find their cookies to be particularly special. Overly sweet for my tastes, not enough flavor, but good for when you’re out late and want something to eat. The cookies are usually pretty warm, giving it a nice freshly baked taste.

Best cookies in the city. From the oven straight to your mouth. Warm and gooey but crispy on the outside.
Just got the deluxe molten double chocolate peanut butter (I think) Insane.
Do not recommend if you’re counting calories

We ordered a six-​pack of cookies, a large Smores cookie, & two bottles of milk. The cookies weren’t warm when they got to us. Despite us being 2 blocks from them, it is bitingly cold outside (about 35 degrees), so it was totally fine and understandable.
The cookies were awesome. My favorite was the classic chocolate chunk and my least favorite was the sugar (very plain, no icing, just doughey). My fiancé loved the Smores cookies & the white chocolate macadamias! He’s hard to please when it comes to cookies I didn’t make myself!
They delivered it to our hotel lobby very quickly, which is a plus when cookie cravings kick in!
My only qualm was the milk. It tasted kind of funny. That may just be because we’re used to CA milk. Who knows but the cookies were great!

D-​E-​L-​I-​C-​I-​O-​U-​S!!! The soul reason why we came into the city was to try Insomnia cookies. SInce my boyfriends house is not within the delivery range we drove into the city. We had to walk a few blocks from where we parked but it was worth it and we could walk off the brunch we just ate. The building was very small but they do have some seating. I ordered the brownie ala mode with moose track ice cream. The brownie was warm and soft and with the ice cream it was a great combination. We ordered 12 cookies to bring back to his house for his family (they didn’t last long). Parking is limited street parking so id suggest walking if you can.

I heard people rave about this place. Had a great story of how it started up in college (or so i was told) So i went in with a friend and bought a dozen cookies, or various flavors. Don’t get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the cookies but at $ 20 a dozen i was expecting to be wowed. They tasted no different than Pepperidge Farm cookies. The flavors were nothing crazy or unique. Im guessing that if you are raving about these cookies you have never baked cookies yourself, or had home made ones. I dunno I really tried hard to like them but i just don’t see anything special?
Maybe im missing something, maybe i went on a bad day, but I just think the cookies are nothing special. Great story and a great idea but too expensive for an avg cookie

Insomnia Cookies saved my life at 1 am when I went to the Made in America music festival for the first time two years ago. IC saved my life again when I attended this year, but this time after a belly full of brunch — because there’s always room for dessert.
Major plus for the store being within walking distance from my hotel and I did A LOT of walking that weekend only to undo that calorie burning task with a «cookiewich» from Insomnia Cookies. I opted to go with the simple route with my order: two chocolate chunk cookies with strawberry ice cream. So simple, yet so deliciously satisfying.
The fact that the cookiewich survived the walk back to my hotel is a mystery. It seems in my old age I’ve developed a good amount of self control. I really should have eaten it because that bad boy was melting every where. Thank God for napkins.
If you don’t make a pit stop at Insomnia Cookies when in Philly then you’re an idiot. It’s open late, they DELIVER until 3:00 am, awesome staff that don’t mind breaking large bills for you (yes I was that person only carrying large bills — please don’t rob me), and you can never go wrong with their selection of the day.
As the self proclaimed Cookie Queen, I hereby dub Insomnia Cookies as the fairest in all the land… of Philadelphia & all of their locations.

I really like Insomnia Cookies. The cookies are fantastic! Plus, If you order delivery or get a bunch of cookies, they will last a day or two without getting too hard!
My favorite is the chocolate chunk. We also like the double chocolate chunk, the chocolate peanut butter cup, and the s’mores deluxe.
Delivery usually is speedy, but sometimes it can take long time and the cookies are often just thrown into a pizza box type container. They are usually still intact, but it can get a little messy since the cookies all come warm and the chocolate can get everywhere as they move around in the box. Those are my only complaints!
I also appreciate that the ice cream (when you order delivery) is always still frozen when you receive it.
Absolutely delicious food when you are in need of a sugar fix or craving dessert! I recommend checking this place out or one of their other locations/​trucks if you have the chance or if they deliver to you!

This place is TINY. You’re not there to hang out, you’re there for cookies. This place delivers. The cookies are amazing. The oatmeal raisin is UNREAL. Chocolate chip (chunk is more accurate) excellent. Sugar cookies were ok.
I like the fact that they have a ton of milk ready for you. These are top shelf cookies.

Pros: the ice cream and cookie desserts are the best. We loved everything we ordered! The people are very friendly.,
Cons: this place is super small not enough room to barley breath in there… there is no seating, (really)but a small counter with two stools. If the line is outside its because it’s only enough room for about 5 people inside. The service was a little slow…
Now if you can get over all my cons just know my one pro review out weighs all of that … Stand in that line. Eat outside if you have too because their ice cream and cookies are worth it all (seriously) ‚. So don’t let the cons fool you give this place a try you won’t regret it !!!

From the moment the door opens onto this surprisingly small store the sweet aromas of chocolate, vanilla and butter quickly invade your brain. The scent that comes from this store is amazing and dare I say it… insane!
My wife and I along with another couple crammed inside and eagerly anticipated what a friend told us were fantastic cookies. It was later in the evening and we had just finished dinner at a nearby pub. The stop at Insomnia was unexpected but we are very glad we decided to go.
There was a menu posted on the wall but no cookies were shown on it. Only coffee and ice cream were shown as I recall. The cookies are in the display class near the register so we had to wait until the last minute to see what they had to offer. I would have preferred seeing the names of the cookies while waiting in-​line but it was really no big deal to have to wait.
We split a 6-​pack of cookies and had chocolate peanut butter, double chocolate chip and a few others. All of the cookies were warm and gooey. They were fresh and very good. The value for the cookies was worth it as well. Glad we stopped and would recommend checking this place out not that they need my endorsement to drive traffic to their store. They seem to be doing just fine on their own.

Insomnia Cookies is as it sounds — A great place to go for midnight munchies or after a date for wonderful dessert. It opens until 3am and its a brightly lit corner shop that smells of warm chocolate chip cookies.
That isn’t the only type of cookie available. You can choose from a variety of options include double chocolate chip, M&M, white chocolate macadamia, snickerdoodle, mint chocolate, etc.
Best yet, if you’re someone who likes the pizookie concept of a cookie ice cream sandwich, they offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors including vanilla, chocolate, coffee, cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, etc.
They sell water and all types of milk to compliment your dessert. There isn’t any seating inside and its pretty cramp so I’d recommend going elsewhere or for a walk to eat the dessert.
I tried the cookie a la mode for $ 5.10 which is one warm cookie and a generous scoop of ice cream. It was everything I hoped for as a dessert and I will be back!

Insomnia comes to my rescue when it’s past the time Rittenhouse bakeries close, but my sweet tooth yearns. I can vouch for the double chocolate chunk and s’mores.
Only downside is I find these cookies to be just average when they’re cold. So do eat them soon after you buy.

Cookies are served warm, chocolate chocolate chip was our favorite, deluxe ice cream sandwich with two over sized huge cookies was both satisfying and delicious. Kinda pricey but Heyy its gourmet cookies in the downtown Philly area so that’s to be expected. Delivery available and open til 3am!

Delicious, warm, fresh, chewy deliciousness. I stopped in quickly for a few of their ‘gourmet’ cookies on my walk past from an appointment. My only complaint about this place is that it’s tiny tiny tiny and I accidentally walked in front of people in line, just by trying to walk out of the doorway. Don’t worry, they quickly and rudely assured me that they were in front of me. I promised I wasn’t trying to cut, but they didn’t believe me.
Other than that, the s’mores cookie was my favorite. Just amazing. I gave my chocolate chip cookie to the parking garage attendant because he was so nice to me when I parked. Maybe that was a mistake, because my peanut butter cup cookie was a little crumbly. I still devoured it, though!

Every time I venture into Insomnia Cookies the smells and late night hours combine to create a dream-​like experience. Sugar and chocolate aroma’s envelope your senses and there is no escape… Insomnia Cookies has various locations as well as online, late night delivery so there is NO excuse not to indulge.
From the classics to deluxe they have everything a cookie lover could want. Brownies, cookie cakes, and homemade cookie ice cream sandwiches are also offered. Classic flavors include: Sugar, Chocolate Chunk, Oatmeal Raisin, Snickerdoodle, M&M, Peanut Butter, Double Chocolate Mint, Double Chocolate Chuck, and White Chocolate Macadamia.
Deluxe cookies are about 1.5x the size of a classic cookie, the flavors include: Triple Chocolate Chunk, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, and S’mores Deluxe. Make any brownie or cookie a la mode with a scoop of ice cream. You can also have an ice cream sundae with toppings such as M&M, Snickers, Mint, White Chocolate Chips, Walnuts, Reeses Cups, Cookie Dough, and Peanut Butter Chips– or try these toppings on a warm brownie!
Of course ice cream is offered to go in pints and quarts. Milk and water are also sold in store. But don’t forget if you don’t want to get your bum off the couch you can get these warm delicious morsels delivered to your door in a trendy pizza cookie box! Insomnia cookies is always a sweet treat you deserve ;)

I heard so much about this place. After leaving my Unilocal Elite event at the Icon building I was in need of something sweet, especially since I failed to obtain one of the cupcakes at the event. One quick search and my Unilocal showed that there was an Insomnia Cookies location around the corner.
One illegal parking job and 15 minutes later, I was heading home with a chocolate chunk, a macadamian, and a couple of oatmeal raisin cookies. The chocolate chunks were not ready when I arrived so I had to wait 10 minutes for a fresh batch. It was my lucky night I guess because PPA were not out an about. The cookies were still nice and warm 45 minutes later once I made it home and changed. This place reminded me of the Cookie House in Kings Plaza mall in Brooklyn when I was a kid. I don’t like giving the Mom & Pop stores backseat to the chains but Insomnia Cookies make some damn good cookies, and could easily surpass some of my favorite cookie locations.

Pros:
–consistently delicious cookies that are always warm, fresh, and scrumptious!
–there is never a wait, they have fast service.
–open late till 3am
–they deliver
Cons:
–the space is super tiny so don’t expect to hang out at the place.
–can’t even hang out on the outside of this place because there is an ally on the side of the building that always smells like garbage and vomit at the same time.
–the cookies are ridiculously priced. 3 cookies is the same price as a McDonalds meal.
–service from staff is a bit inconsistent. Some days you’ll get the young, perky clerk who smiles at you, and then on other nights, you’ll get the cantankerous worker who stares at you with irritation for not choosing fast enough.

I was super excited to see Insomnia Cookies on my walk from Restaurant Row back to my hotel. I used to love these cookies when I lived in NYC and I’d been missing them since moving to the west coast.
Insomnia cookies offers a variety of cookies in the store and they also deliver until the early morning hours, hence the name. I stuck to my usual — double chocolate mint, snickerdoodle, and chcolate chunk, all in separate bags! Taken from the warmer, the cookies ($ 1.25 each) are indeed warm and gooey so I specifically ask for them to be separated so my snickerdoodle doesn’t have chocolate all over it by the time that I eat it.
The Philly location’s cookies were just as good as I’d remembered. Seeing my enthusiasm for the little bags of deliciousness, my friends asked to taste them and I saw the surprise on their faces when they realized just how good they really are. I wish Insomnia Cookies would expand to the west coast. Until then, they’ll just be a sweet treat when I travel back east and they’ll evoke great memories of late night cookie runs on the Upper East Side.
