Great customer service. Average price with average dessert selection. Not terrible and if you’re in a craving for something generic, this place will pass with flying colors but if you’re in the mood for something a bit more specific, you might be better off going to a place that specializes in that even if this place offers it because it probably won’t satisfy your craving(unless of course you’ve just arrived from a deserted island and this was the first dessert spot you entered). There’s a dessert only section and a full service restaurant section. Very segregated. They won’t let you sit in the nicer seats/section if you’re only there for dessert. Parking: Limited metered street parking Price: $ 4+ for dessert or more for full service meals Wait: Little

I’ve been going here since 1986 when they were located on Pine Street. Recently ordered delivery for the first time — very disappointing. If you want: 1– cold, completely unseasoned shoe string fries(they would have been good if they were hot and someone cared enough to sprinkle a little bit of salt on them). 2– only two tiny plum tomatoes on a BLT that should be renamed a «BL no T». 3– cold onion rings that were well seasoned and would be good if they were hot or at least warm. 4– no utensils, napkins or plates to eat with. 5– an expensive grilled chicken breast sandwich which had no more than 4 ounces of chicken that only covered have the decent ciabatta bread. 6– a restaurant that doesn’t provide their delivery guy with insulated carry bags to keep food hot, especially when it’s 19º degrees outside. …then this is your place, but it’s not mine any more. What a shame.

This place has been one of my second homes and kitchens for a long time now I love their cosmopolitan salad and turkey chili. One of the other great things about this place is you can actually hang out and talk and hear each other and there is never a rush.

Ambience: ice cream parlor with a dining area and a café/lounge area. Wasn’t too busy during our visit. Almost looks as if the place is just opening and the owner wanted to see how business would go before he/she invested more into this place. Food Presentation: nothing to be like«wow» about! Taste: I had Butter Pecan Ice Cream – which lacked flavor, which I have never had bad butter pecan ice cream, except one other time! But it wasn’t even sweet, very bland. I also had the Butter Pound Cake – which was just ok for me! I know my dessert options were boring(kinda) but I wasn’t expecting such a boring taste as oxymoronic as that sounds! Server: associate was friendly and nice, and let us sample the ice cream as annoying as that can be, and gave personal recommendations. Maybe next time I will follow those recommendations, if there’s a next time! Revisit: no time soon!

Went to brunch this past Sunday with a friend. It was great to be seated right away — we were so hungry! In an area where brunch lines can be brutal, there was no line. The menu definitely has a lot of options — the place is BYOB. I ordered the egg white omelet with goat cheese and mushrooms — it was very good. Tons of options for the fillings. Generous portion. However, the arugula salad that it came with was really not good at all. The dressing tasted funny. The buttermilk biscuits were fairly dry and quite hard — I wasn’t a fan. My friend ordered the baked mac n cheese. It was good, but it was extremely salty. She also didn’t like the arugula salad, so it wasn’t just me! The service was quite slow. The location is convenient and the restaurant is very cute — definitely has a fun look to it. I would give this place another shot in the future if I found myself in the area again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Average brunch, not bad, but not out of the ordinary.

Just went for ice cream but was really let down. The ice cream was great, servings decent, but the server was very rude. Did not speak to us the entire time; frowned when we asked to try two flavors; seemed very angry and annoyed that we were there

Stumbled upon this restaurant on accident and since then I’ve been waiting for a chance to get back. My rating is based solely on the food. I will say the first time I went I got a burger and a side of Mac and cheese and the Mac was horrible. It was literally just noodles and Kraft white American cheese, and my burger was sub par. However i also ordered the chicken and waffle sliders(one of the best decisions of my life) and my friend ordered the turkey meatloaf which was delicious. So based on that experience I went back yesterday and ordered the same app and meatloaf and it was just as good as the first time and the mashed potatoes were amazing. I will say the service is a little slow, and you seat yourself so it’s a very casual feel. It’s def worth a try even if it’s just for those chicken and waffle sliders!

I’ve been twice few years ago. The food is average to me. I saw the groupon deal so I thought why not give them another chance. Nothing has changed. My Boyfriend ate half of our food to save room for the dessert. We had cowboy burger and turkey burger. We left half of each burger and a plate of fries. Food still so so, our server was very nice EXCEPT when we asked for to go box he took the food away and never came back with our left over(technically a whole meal, a burger and fries) We found out he threw it away. At this point I paid for food that just get throw away. Luckily I used groupon so I didn’t pay that much but still it’s my food. I walked away with no leftover that I was looking forward to eat next day. :-(. PS: as you can see below the manager contacted me. I contacted him back but never heard from him. I thought at least I will get a free dessert or a burger as their apology. Nothing no respond.

Service was great, food was just okay. Came here for dinner with a friend using a Groupon that included one starter, two sandwiches/burgers and one dessert. Guacamole — you could definitely tell that it was made fresh to order as they claim on the menu, but it was SO bland. There were barely any red onions, cilantro or jalapeño in it, and it looked and tasted like mashed up avocados. Cowboy Burger — this was pretty good. The brioche bun was toasted nicely and didn’t get soggy. The patty was thick and cooked medium, which is what I asked for. Even though it had melted cheese, barbecue sauce, bacon and an onion ring, it didn’t feel overly greasy. It came with fries which there were a TON of. I didn’t finish it because I wanted to leave room for dessert. Mile-High Apple Pie — this is ginormous! It was served warm with vanilla ice cream. Crust was nice. Overall it was yummy. But after a while I got tired of eating all those apples so I think I prefer a regular not-mile-high apple pie. Even though they have more than just ice cream(ha), that’s probably the only thing I’d come back for.

I would like to note that these four stars are solely based off of one item on the menu. The fried chicken and waffle sliders with sriracha maple syrup were faaaaaaaaaantastic. If we’re being honest, they were more chicken fingers sitting atop waffles than fried chicken, but I don’t care. I’ve always been a sucker for a good chicken finger. The spicy sweet syrup was so good that I had to make a copycat at home the next day. The other food that we ordered was just meh. We got the MTJIC grilled cheese(with apples and bacon) and the turkey burger with chutney and hummus. Nothing to write home about, but not the worst by any means. Finished the meal with a slice of coconut cheesecake which was a tad heavy on the cheese flavor for my liking. The rest of their desserts looked pretty good though, and our server was exceptionally nice. Also there were two little old men sitting in the corner, each with a cup of coffee and a bowl of mashed potatoes, and I’m thinking the next time I come I will get the sliders and a bowl of mashed potatoes because it just looked like a good time.

Holy cow! We had a Groupon to this place and I wish we could afford to eat here when it’s full price! This food was amazing! Mac n Cheese Fritters: Unlike most places, these are not small balls of mac n cheese fried up with more batter than mac n cheese. These are logs of delicious, panko encrusted mac n cheese with tasty, a little bit spicy marinara. This could be a meal in and of itself! Cowboy Burger(no bacon): I was very impressed. Very rarely when you go out does a restaurant cook a burger correctly. I like my burger medium, but most restaurants cook it to medium, stick a piece of cheese on, then pop it back under the warmer to melt the cheese, resulting in a Medium Well burger. So I always order Medium Rare. Here, the Medium Rare was ACTUALLY medium rare! I only ate half since we already had the appetizer, so when I reheated it, I got my Medium burger after all! So, for all you burger aficionados, you CAN order your burger how you really want it, not a step down! The onion ring was a great topping to the burger, but I definitely missed it in the middle since it is literally just one thick ring around the outside. The BBQ was excellent, and unlike many places, it was not underapplied. Usually with this type of burger I want more BBQ, but not here. Excellent burger. Garden Burger(with only hummus… and maybe avocado? This wasn’t mine): Great flavor, a little on the mushy side, tasty hummus really works with this burger. When I had some of hers, I definitely missed having a slice of cheese(she is vegetarian, not vegan, but the burger does not come with cheese) to step the texture game up, but she didn’t seem to mind missing it. She also only ate half and brought the rest home. Fries(Came with both): Excellent excellent excellent fries. Too many fries so far in our Philadelphia adventures are soggy and rely upon the addition of cheese to be palatable. These are crispy and perfect! Ice Cream(Half Cookie Dough, Half Cookies n Cream): Nothing special. But we’re not much for sweets. It just came with our deal. It didn’t seem to be any better than storebought cookie dough, and had fewer cookie chunks in the Cookies n Cream than the average. The prices are a little more than we can afford without deals like Groupon, but we will certainly buy them every opportunity and make sure to tip well, as our service was phenomenal. Limited seating, but we went at normal dinner time on a Sunday and it was fine.

I can’t say how much I love coming here and eating. The servers are the best. Aeranah, Dan and even the owners wait tables. Great place, a true Neighboor comfy spot. The food is consistent and always hot and fresh. Great deserts made in house.

Went here for brunch on new years day. Love the menu options and my brioche breakfast sandwich was really good! The waiters are so nice and willing to customize your orders easily. There is a small wait due to the limited tables they have. But it also means that they are super busy bc it’s a great place. This place also lets you bring your own champagne if you buy a pitcher of OJ from them. I think that’s a good deal!

A long time local favorite! I love this place. Although not a cool as its original location, the ice cream is sublime and the coffee electric. Always a good after restuarant stop off. Great first date material. Go!

Losing charm– dirty premises, inconsistent food, depressing service: I’ll start with the hope for new life to breathe into this formerly charming neighborhood tent pole. I’m really rooting for them. I have had lovely experiences here. I have had wonderful pies, cakes, milk shakes– so lovely I am willing to brave the servers who sigh with disappointment at my apologetic face: «so sorry to bother you, but I would like to buy a slice of your pie.» Until I had one or two slices of of disenchanting desserts, and then my bravery decreased. Tonight might have been the last straw, however. TIME: It was 9pm,(late for Philadelphia on a Sunday), and we had a sweet tooth. CLEANLINESS: The restaurant is usually casually shabby, but tonight’s counters were covered with dirty towels, sticky dishes, and and melted lumps of cream,(front and back counters). FOOD: The pie was a continuation of our downward experience– burned in places and raw in others. What happened? It used to be so good! My hot chocolate was cold and more syrup than anything. SERVICE: The girl at the counter was her usual, «just barely tolerating a customer,» posture. I found someone who told me in a friendly tone that she was the owner, and I let her know about our experience being much lower than we expected. She explained the restaurant was out of the usual chocolate recipe, but then asked, «have you had our pie before?». I’m not sure what that had to do with the bad pie, but she said she would check up on the matter. She didn’t really seem concerned. And that’s perhaps my concern– no one at More than Ice Cream appears concerned with keeping a clean place with consistently decent food, and generally friendly service. I hope this changes.

I’m often in this neighborhood and I’ve passed by a few times, but have never taken the time to try this place out. One evening, my boyfriend was craving something other than ice cream and we were curious about a place that practically had what we were looking for in their name. As we entered, we saw there was definitely way more than just ice cream! There was a selection of cakes and pies, and a huge menu for specialty coffee and other drinks. On the other side of the ice cream/cake display was a seat-yourself dining area. It was very«old school» décor with pillows on the benches. They also have a sign of their name coming down from the ceiling, which looks like it was meant to be outdoors(we asked and it never was). Anyways, we got a carrot cake and a pecan pie. The pecan pie was absolutely delicious. They give you a dollop of whip cream which was a nice touch. The carrot cake was decent – the icing was a bit too sweet for me, but it was a moist cake. If we had more of an appetite, we would have paired it with ice cream. I have it on my to-do list to try out their ice cream too. Maybe one day, if I’m brave enough, I’ll try their huge apple pie – the Mile High Apple Pie(it was probably the biggest I’ve ever seen!). The worker behind the counter was friendly after we started talking to her and asking questions. I was hoping for a bit more attentiveness as we looked around; we would have really enjoyed some help navigating since it was our first time there. Overall, it was a good experience and I’ll definitely be back to give this place another try!

Me and my friends went here for dessert and was very disappointed with the mile high apple pie. There were too many apples and not enough crust! Also the crust was very soggy at the bottom. I shared it with two other people and we only finished one third of it and then threw it out. Atleast the ice cream was good I guess.

Based on a recommendation from a friend, we ended up at this place. They definitely had more than just ice cream. They have burgers, sandwiches, and full meals. They also have a weekend brunch. They don’t serve alcohol, but the menu said BYOB. I decided to go with the Sirloin Burger. I got it with a salad instead of fries. The salad was mixed greens with a vinaigrette. The bread was a nice brioche bun. I had it topped with cheddar. The meat was a nice large piece of meat. It was a good burger, very very filling. G had the cajun turkey meatloaf. It was very tasty, but I didn’t taste any cajun spice. It was served with mashed potatoes and a HUGE broccoli piece. I was too full for dessert, plus I had ice cream earlier that day. However, G had the brownie à la mode. The brownie was hot and chocolatey; it was topped with vanilla ice cream for a perfect combination. My other friend ordered the key lime pie. It was a large piece of pie. I liked the crust. They had a lot of flavors of ice cream, too. This place is good and fun. It’s the only place I’ve ever been to that brings everyone in the party a dessert menu without asking.
