Working in center city I don’t normally get to have Vietnamese food for lunch much since most Vietnamese restaurants are more close to South Philly. Today, I finally get to have a Vietnamese hoagie for lunch from QT Vietnamese Sandwich in my building lobby since my building usually have differently food restaurants come each day to sell their food. I had the QT special which was recommended by QT friendly staffs and it was really good… I was surprised the hoagie was good and I think a bit better than one place I go to south philly for Vietnamese hoagie(Ba Le). The bread was crunchy, the meat was good, and the paste spread was the best part. As a Vietnamese individual that go out eat often, I never actually been to QT Vietnamese Sandwich before and it is located in Chinatown. Definitely, will visit the restaurant for hoagie again and would recommend their hoagie to friends and families to come try as well.

Popped my bahn mi cherry with QT, and was blown away. Their special #1 is so amazingly delicious and balanced. They’ve made a new regular customer.

I ordered the House special. The bread had it’s I was a bit bummed this was somewhat more of an Americanized establishment. I was hoping for that straight viet experience.

The house special was amazing. It’s refreshing, tasty, not heavy, and I could eat like five.

Great to dine-in or take to go. This place had just the right amount of options. Recommend going with a friend so you can split your sandwiches and get an extra taste of Vietnam. My friend and I shared the QT Special and the Lemongrass Tofu… couldn’t put it down, well until it was gone.

Generally a good spot to pick up a Vietnamese hoagie, or boba drink, or some other small menu item on the go. There service is a bit on the slow side, but they seem to make the sandwiches as you order them, so don’t mind the wait too much, at least you know your sandwich will be fresh. I’ve always had a good experience here. Very small space to sit inside, only two or three tables, and it gets crowded pretty quickly. Had a few of their sandwiches, and was happy to find they didn’t mind making your order vegan, with vegetarian items noted on the menu. If you have a particular food issue, they have always accommodated my requests with no problems.

An awesome small banh mi shop. They really have the best Vietnamese sandwiches. I was hooked to their bread. The baguette was crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. They absolutely got the best baguettes! The filling was fresh and delicious! The prices were pretty good $ 5.50-$ 6.50 and .50 for extra veggies. Make sure you have cash with you!

Great sandwich shop. Haven’t ever had anything like it. It’s served on a footlong role that is toasted or somehow made crispy, very different than any American style hoagie which is always served on soft bread. Now the filling in not heaping be semi thin slices of meat. It’s a fatty cured meat like mortadella. Very good. It works cause they add some Spicy sauce some Julienned carrots and cucumbers and cilantro Bahn me style. $ 5.50 can’t beat it. Plus a lychee soda.

I really enjoy coming to QT. I’m a fan of the banh mi here. They put a good amount of meat and vegetables and the bread is warm and crunchy. You can also opt to buy the sandwiches untoasted with the vegetables on the side so that you can toast them later. I usually buy two or three and they taste just as good a few days later!

QT downplays the perfectness of their sandwiches. I would describe them as Beautiful Vietnamese sandwiches, but obviously it is not as catchy as QT Vietnamese Sandwich. I have only had the QT special(#1) because it is like finding your life partner — you don’t feel the need to explore other options because you love it so much. There’s always a good portion of filling in my banh mis and the bread is always perfectly crunchy and airy. I’ve also ordered their hot Vietnamese coffee. It was the perfect ratio of condensed milk and coffee. For those who have never had Vietnamese coffee — it is very sweet and you need to experience its greatness. Although the establishment can probably only seat 10 people, the atmosphere is very inviting. The staff here has always been extremely sweet and go out of their way for their customers. If you’re a cutie(referring to you, yes you, reading this), you need to come try QT Vietnamese Sandwich ASAP.

5 years later, it’s finally time for me to write this review. The house special banh mi is absolutely amazing. Fresh baguette that the owners get every morning(sometimes they run out of bread late in the afternoon), thinly cut Vietnamese ham, all of the accommodating vegetables(can make it spicy by adding jalapeño), fresh pâté on the bread. I don’t think I can describe how much I like this banh mi. I’ve been to Vietnam recently, and I don’t think I found a banh mi there that I liked more than this place. During college I got banh mis from here every single time I visited Chinatown, and we always brought some back. The trick is to ask them not toast the bread for the ones you take out. Then back at home, put your oven to 350 degrees, wrap the sandwiches in foil, and toast for about 7 minutes. They taste as good as new. Now that I am in California, I constantly crave this place. Finally got a chance to visit philly for the weekend, and I brought some sandwiches back on the plane with me. Let’s see if they survived the plane ride.

YES! A delicious banh mi sandwich, walking distance from my place! For $ 5.5 — 6.5, you too can savor this vietnamese classic. Warm, toasted french bread, still soft in the middle, filled with sliced cucumber, pickled shredded carrot, cilantro, jalapeño, and your choice of meat or tofu. I opted for the lemongrass tofu and my bf got the #1 house special, which is a combination of bbq pork, ham, and paté. While the lemongrass tofu was good, I would probably go with the house special next time, it was an excellent flavor combination. The fresh, toasted french bread alone is enough for another visit. Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant is quite small though, so plan on taking your order to-go if you’re with a group. Cash only!

Hidden gem status! It’s a cute little Banh Mi restaurant but the inside is clean and well decorated. Friendly staff and cash only. I tried number 1, number 2 and number 5. All are delicious! Very authentic bread which is almost as good as Vietnamese bread in Vietnam. chicken and bbq pork have a similar lemongrass taste– a little different from the traditionals but I liked it. You can also get Bun Rieu in a smaller size for $ 3.50 to try and I am happy to say that it tastes pretty authentic, i love how spicy it is. The Viet coffee can improve a little bit as it’s watery and not enough condense milk. However over all I am very happy to find this place and will definitely come back. Tips: this restaurant is small and casual enough for you to dine alone comfortably. :) that’s what I did! big ++++

I’ve been a fan of Q.T. for years now, and I’ve consistently gotten their banh mis for the crunchy bread and perfect mixture of flavors inside! I’ve noticed that on my recent visit, the prices have risen to $ 5.50, which plus tax comes up to be just around $ 6. Still definitely not a bad price for the really big bahn mi that you get, but I think I will try to see if Lola’s down the street at $ 4 can deliver the same thing. Super friendly and quick service, cash only! Ask for a loyalty card — buy 10, get the 11th one free! A big plus is that they open at 8am and close at 7pm, which means that I can grab a banh mi to go in the morning for lunch(or dinner) if I am around chinatown in the morning(which I happen to find myself in a lot: P)

Best Viet Hoagies you’ll find in the area, or comparable to South Philly’s famous Ba La Bakery. Why? Large portion of well seasoned meat/veggies, fresh made hoagies and toasted to perfection, smooth and rich spreads, and cheap prices, The authentic flavor you get here is unbeatable. The place is small, so don’t come with large groups. It’s for 2 – 3 people, or take out. Must Have: — #1 House Special — #8 Mushroom Tofu and Onion Suggestion: — I like spicy, but I request for the jalapenos to be on the side OR I ask for Sriracha instead — mm mm good! — If you are in a rush, they take orders and you can call 10 min ahead of time to pick up!

Downgrading my review based on my recent visit to QT. We haven’t been here in a few months and ordered a couple of banh mis to go. At first glance, I noticed there were some updates to the inside décor, and about a 10% increase in prices. Never the less, we ordered two banh mi dac biet(house specials)… We got home and opened our bag with two BBQ pork banh mis… On stale bread. Why’d you do us dirty, QT.. You were one of our favorites until now.

I got the #1QT special since the lady said that’s the best seller. It has a really nice balance when you get a little bite of the fresh veggies and the meat which has a lot of Asian flavor, which is what you’re hoping for in a Vietnamese sandwhich shop. I liked that it wasn’t too packed with meats so I didn’t feel gross so eating one whole sandwhich can still be consider lite. I did really like the random hot peppers I’d find every few bites, but beware if you are not a spicy person since they pack a punch. I wished the veggies and meat were a little more even distributed, some bites were all meat and some veggies mostly. The bread was way too dry and tough for my liking. With some better bread, I think I would’ve really been impressed with the sandwhich. Overall, the flavors inside were very very good. It’s a good meal to pick up as a change, but not something I’d plan for all week

QT is a great combination of customer service, quality, and price. The staff is very friendly and takes personal interest in making sure you pick the right item and are fully satisfied. They will discuss the menu with you as you order and the news of the day while you eat. This is how a business should be run. The«QT Special» is very good– select the Spicy option if you can handle it. The prices are some of the best in the Center City area. QT is a nice place to eat and chat. You will want to come back.

Me: I want to try this Vietnamese banh mi sandwich place? My friend: What? Another sandwich place? Me: Yes. I always wanted to try Q.T. I heard its surprisingly delicious. My friend: Oh yeah? What makes it different? Me: They use French baguettes, and usually thin seeded cucumber strips. My friend: Nom nom nom! Now you got my attention. Q.T. Vietnamese Sandwich place is amazing little restaurant, in the beginning of china town, family owned with awesome banh mi sandwiches. Holy moly, those French-Oriental sandwiches are surprisingly delicious. The«hoagie-like» was small, crispy, French roll, yet soft, and chewy from the inside. Filled with chicken, cilantro leaves, pickled carrot, slices of thin jalapeño pepper, and cucumber. I was so stuffed and I am incredibly addicted. Worth the search? Yes. Earned the hype? Oui. Met the expectations? Si Give the thumbs up! Three and half Unilocal

The quantity of the filling was just right, but the quantity of bread(despite its delicious toastiness) was a bit overwhelming. There were parts of the sandwich that were just airy bread, especially a quarter of the way into both ends of the sandwich. I think they would be better off using smaller loaves, though this might give them concerns that large food-loving crowds might think their sandwiches are too small. I tried the BBQ pork sandwich, which, to my surprise, was not made with Vietnamese-style BBQ pork, but rather with salty and slightly BBQ-flavored pork cold cuts. It tasted ok as a sandwich filling, but I was a bit disappointed that it was cheap quality preserved meat. I would have felt like my $ 5.50 were better spent if the filling was actually BBQ pork. To their defense, I’ve seen many banh mi places in Philly use cold cuts rather than real pork fillings. I have yet to find a good banh mi place in Philly that makes these sandwiches properly. The service was good and quick. Initially, I experienced a quick glance of apprehension/annoyance from the counter person, as if she though I was part of the typical Asian customer crowd, but she soon gave me a warm smile after I spoke to her and revealed that I am a polite and considerate person. Overall, good value if one is looking for an affordable lunch, but I wouldn’t say this is the place to get an accurate idea of what Vietnamese banh mi’s taste like.
