Hubby and I are long time fans of Sketch. Tonight the food was great as usual but we were overcharged for our meal. We did not realize this until a few hours later and called to confirm this. Now to be fair the place was very busy and my hubby should have realized we were overcharged. My suggestion is to wait for the check and look it over carefully. I also would suggest that all beverages and prices be listed on the menu.

Best(and one of the largest!) burgers in Philly! Tons of topping choices.

The best burgers you’ll probably ever have. Definitely order truffle butter on your burger, you’ll thank me later. They also have great Belgian-cut fries that come with your choice of dipping sauce. The space itself is really small(I’d say only about 20 – 25 customers can fit) so you may have to find the right time of day to go, but its not one of those line-out-the-door places. All in all, Sketch is a Fishtown staple and a Philadelphia gem, and every time a friend of mine visits Philly for the first time I take them here.

The atmosphere at this place is homey and fun. You can grab your own drink from the fridge and sit down to «sketch» a drawing to add to the covered walls. It’s a small establishment with charm and good food. I love the fries and trying new sauces to dip them in. It is cash only, which I don’t mind especially as they have an ATM.

My favorite is the Kobe burger, wasabi sauce, tomato and lettuce(no cheese needed). I normally get medium rare and they are really great! The normal beef burger or chicken are very good too. One time I had a bad experience, but it seems that it was a one off. Their cook and waiters have recently changed. I hope they keep it up because I really like this place.

I don’t understand why this is everyone’s favorite burger place… I’ve definitely had better burger! The place looks pretty cool with customer’s artwork all over the wall but to be honest, it’s a little small and«dirty» in my opinion.

We happened upon this place while staying at an Airbnb around the corner. I had the burger with diced onions and my husband had the regular burger. They were both very good, very juicy and cooked how we asked. We shared an order of fries and had a lot left over. Service was great too. Artwork was a great touch.

Delicious burgers! I loved it! I got the cyclops and my boyfriend got the smashed onion burger and a chocolate shake, and we shared a large fries with the aioli and wasabi mayo! Everything was delicious especially with the truffle butter! Go if you love burgers!

Best burger in Philly. This is the type of place you come, and spend your money. It’s not expensive, but don’t come here on a budget. Get everything and spend the money. Get the kobe beef burger. With the truffle butter. With the bacon. With the avocado. All that is only like $ 17, which is a crazy deal for what the quality is. So good. Also, their shakes are out of this world. $ 5 a shake, one size. Worth it. You can split it with someone, its big. So rich and good. Get the burger I said, and a oreo shake, and you will literally be high off of food. Like better than a food coma. Their food had me high. It is dope – literally. Only downside is their service has been kinda slow all 3 times I’ve been – but the food is so good that I don’t give a crap. Eat here.

Charming little place in Fishtown. The walls are filled with sketches made by the patrons. And they give you supplies to make your own drawing. And good food great atmosphere. I tried the farro salad with mixed veggies which was a generous portion and was very delectable. I would go there again for sure. They have a really good black bean burger. Yummers! Definitely try their sweet goodies too I tried the salty nut and pecan pie bar. And some of my friends got the little hearts and the dark chocolate truffle. Very very tasty.

I love a good burger every once in a while, and Sketch definitely delivers. To get: The cyclops burger: egg over easy with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. I got my burger medium and it was cooked perfectly. All burgers come with a sauce as well and we got the Harissa Aoili. The burger was crazy heavy so I just ate half and saved the rest for later. Hand cut Belgian style fries: Also with Harissa Aoili(on the side). The fries are super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of salt. …and a milkshake! I got a mix of chocolate and vanilla, but I’m sure whatever you get will be awesome. Also, don’t forget to draw a picture and put it on their wall!

Friendly service, great green chilies cheese fries, and mediocre burgers. Sketch is very casual with cool drawings on the wall from customers and friends. Small space with only about 7 tables. Servers are super nice, quirky, and friendly. Tables are equipped with plastic utensils and napkins and drinks are self serve(bill you later). Green chilies fries are amazing! So good. Tangy green chilies mixed into the cheese sauce. But of old bay on the fries. Burgers were underwhelming. First, they are very dense. Second, overcooked. The beef burger was okay. Asked for medium, got well done. Party is made of short rib, beef brisket, and beef, but honestly it may have well been a normal beef burger. There is a lot of meat though. Also forgot the aioli sauce. The mushroom truffle burger was just okay too. I thought it had a solid truffle taste. Asked for medium, got well done. Not sure, but thought all burgers come with lettuce and tomato, which was missing. Overall, Decent place but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Sketch is one of my favorite places to grab a bite in fishtown. The service and food here are great and the specials keep me coming back for more. I usually get the Kobe burger with a fried egg and bacon. If it’s not that ill pick one of the many daily specials they have here. Also don’t forget to try the shakes and homemade desserts here. Green ice cream floats are bomb

I have been back to Sketch several times since my first review over 2 years ago. It is one of my go to places for a burger or just to bring guests from out of town because it is such a unique and cool little restaurant. Sketch is easily my favorite spot for a burger right now as the quality, taste, bun and price top my list. After my first couple of visits I started exploring the menu more: — The Lamb burger is excellent and Sketch changes their specials pretty frequently. They are usually changing up some of the sauces or ingredients on the lamb burger. –The Belgian fries are outstanding, possibly the best fries I have ever had. My niece from Paris agrees and she knows her French Fries. Get the large fries and try the dipping sauces. — I am not a big fan of the Green Chili fries. They get heavy and soggy. — The grilled Chicken sandwiches are also very, very good. So is the pulled pork sandwich with Sketch’s homemade buttermilk biscuit! Wow. — The milkshakes are worth every penny. — The warm brownie dessert with ice cream is big, delicious, and reasonable. Easily can be shared. We currently top it with the Green Tea or Cinnamon ice cream. — All their baked goods are very good also. We try to come during off hours and we have been lucky with not waiting for a table or finding parking on Girard. The staff has been friendly and attentive. I love this place! Cash only.

Great burgers! This is probably one of my favorite burger joints in the whole city. The regular mix burger is always juicy, and served with great fixings. My wife, normally a shy eater, decided to try the Cyclops burger and loved it. The burger was a perfect medium, and the egg was a perfectly cooked bit of artery hardening decadence piled on top. I had the kobe beef burger with bacon. The kobe was definitely juicier and tastier than the regular mix, and the bacon was tender and lay on top of perfectly melted cheddar. The chipolte sauce was a tasty compliment, My daughters shake was rich and creamy, with a generous amount of delicious ice cream(I wish I could remember the dairy they use). The fries were hand cut, fresh, hot, and delicious with a choice of sauces… we had the aioli and wasabi sauces.delicious. The only noticeable issue was the bun. On this visit they were slightly dry and crumbly, though on other visits they’ve been fresh and soft. Not sure what happened there, and hope its not a recurring issue.

Not your average burger joint. This place can do a hell of a lot between a bun. Beef, chicken, pulled pork, turkey, kobe beef, lamb, vegan, there is literally something for everyone here. Lots of topping options and even more sauce options. The combinations are nearly endless. I did the standard beef burger, but added truffle butter, bacon, grilled onions and some aoli. The burger was enormous and incredibly moist. I probably didn’t need the aoli with all the flavor the bacon, onions, and truffle butter packed, but it certainly didn’t hurt anything. Friends got the lamb and turkey burgers and loved those as well. Burger prices are decent, but when you start adding toppings the prices go up quick. The star here, surprisingly, isn’t even the burger somehow, it’s the fries! Specifically the green chili cheese fries. Those things were mind blowing. We ordered a small order of the regular fries with aoli and they were outstanding, but when our server brought over the green chili cheese fries 2 minutes later, we soon forgot about the other fries and went on a feeding frenzy. We finally had to go back to the regular fries when we finished all of the others and needed something to dip into the green chili and cheese. So damn good. Everyone around us was ordering them. There’s no secret, these are a homerun. Also loved the self-serve homemade dessert bar. The blonde bombshell was a perfect end to an already memorable meal. They can definitely be shared too. Definitely the funky feel you’d expect in Fishtown. Sketch will not disappoint if you’re looking for some heart-warming American grub with a little twist and not looking to spend a ton of money.

Ducked in here before a show at Kung Fu Necktie in early November 2015. I think my expectations were a little too high for this place. I wanted it to be akin to my burger faves, like Edzo’s or Kuma’s in Chicago. What I got instead was a passable/pretty good burger, with toppings like cheese costing extra, for around 8 – 10 bucks/person. I got the regular burger, my partner got the turkey burger. As I said before — pretty good, but nothing world beating. They have good looking shakes as well, though we didn’t opt for them this time. Fries and BBQ dipping sauce were rather delicious, I will say. For the price, it’s about the same as Shake Shack. I think I would rather have Shake Shack 7 times out of 10, though I will grant that Sketch does have more variety and personality than the cold metal tray land of the Shack.

Looking for a juicy burger that’ll hit the spot to satisfy your comfort food craving? Sketch is definitely the joint to pop in to try. It’s small, but cozy and community friendly since you’ll notice their walls embellished with drawings from local customers(hence the name«Sketch» burgers — relax, sketch while you wait for your burger, and have some fun!) *CASHONLY. ATM out front Recommend: — Truffle Burger(my fav if you love mushroom/truffle) — Cyclops(for all you egg lovers out there) — Don’t forget to check out their fresh baked goods at the front either; cheap and tasty. I’ve been a customer for years, but have to sadly report the quality of their meat has changed in my opinion. There has been consistency, times where I had to say good-bye to the savory and satisfying umami taste. Because of this, I will have to say they are a 3.5 star.

PROS: Burgers are so F-ing goooooood! Big and juicy and lovely. I’ve been here twice in the past month — first trying a beef burger and then another day trying the Bison Burger. Obvi the beef is better, but the bison is healthier and tastier than the turkey(which I was also tempted to try). The fries are Belgian-cut and a touch on the thicker side, perfectly seasoned and paired with a few different sauce options(+$). The Jalapeño Cheddar is amazeballs but the Chipotle Aioli is really by fave. It’s a BYOB but there are also several bottled beverages from which to choose. I always go diet cream soda. There are a selection of homemade cookies and brownies displayed in jars that are for sale. Do it! CONS: It’s a small place, maybe 7 tables inside. Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside, and a Bank of America next door. They do not recycle — c’mon friends, it’s the little things we can do!

DELICIOUS burgers… I’m not sure if it’s my favorite spot in the city but its probably pretty close to being so. The joint is covered with local art, as in customer art. I was in awe of the artistic ability that has walked through these doors. It’s pretty distracting ! It reminds me of my days at Friendly’s where we had coloring pages and they sold ice cream. The difference is, Sketch has good food(I didn’t know better as an ignorant child). I got the cyclops burger which I highly recommend to bacon and egg lovers. I got it medium rare with chipotle sauce and pepper jack cheese. It was everything savory, meaty, and greasy to fulfill and satisfy my appetite. I also shared the green chili cheese fries which were amazing ! You could actually taste the green chili, true to their title. Unfortunately it’s cash only which really stinks. Also the service is good, but slow. It took a long time to order, and a long time for the food to come. However, it’s worth it. Don’t come here if you’re on a time restraint, but come if you’re in for deliciousness!
